The next day, sunlight filtered through layers of clouds and mist, spilling into every corner of Loguetown.
Kakarot and Lilith quietly entered the pocket dimension. Their purpose on this trip was to find Pirate King Roger's cell.
This pocket dimension was a wondrous realm independent of reality.
Within it, Lilith could clearly see everything outside.
Yet those outside could not detect their presence at all, as though they were ghosts hidden from the world.
Relying on his keen senses, Kakarot moved through the pocket dimension.
They followed the Marines' patrol routes, carefully searching for traces of Roger.
Finally, among several locations with larger numbers of Marines, Kakarot spotted Roger.
The Marines had surrounded a secluded location with layer upon layer of guards, as though facing a formidable enemy. Kakarot knew this was where Roger was being held.
Then, like phantoms, they passed straight through the successive barriers and entered the cell without alerting anyone.
The cell was dimly lit. Torches on the walls flickered with faint light, giving off an acrid smell of smoke.
Roger sat quietly on the floor with his eyes closed. Despite being confined in this cramped, narrow cell, he looked nothing like a prisoner.
Instead, he radiated the proud, noble bearing of a king, as though even this dark cage could not imprison his untamed soul.
Just then, Roger keenly sensed a faint, elusive gaze watching him.
He slowly opened his eyes and looked over, only to see two blurry phantoms appear before him.
Roger was slightly startled, and a trace of surprise crossed his face.
As the Pirate King, he had long since honed his Observation Haki to its pinnacle, yet at this moment, he had completely failed to sense these two people's presence.
It was as though they did not belong to this space
