First Doriki assessment 10 Measures 1,000 Doriki in raw strength. He estimates a physical limit of roughly 1,200 Doriki, comparable to a Commodore, and attacks exceeding 2,000 Doriki with full Armament reinforcement, comparable to a Rear Admiral.
Six Powers and Life Return 13 Masters the Six Powers within six months of the group beginning that training. He and Lilith also master Life Return.
Observation Haki awakening 13 The group’s later Haki-training milestone establishes his use of Observation Haki alongside his previously awakened Armament Haki.

Super Saiyan awakening 22 Rage and grief over Lina’s condition trigger the transformation. He kills the CP0 Deputy Chief, then collapses from exhaustion.
Improved Armament Haki quality 23 Recovery from the CP0 battle strengthens his physique and substantially improves the quality of his previously quantity-heavy Armament Haki.
Conqueror’s Haki Infusion demonstrated 35 Uses infusion against the Hellfire Demon Ant King. Their exchanges further refine his Armament Haki and fighting techniques.
Further battle-driven growth 36 Grows stronger and regenerates faster during the prolonged Ant King battle, ultimately landing a decisive infused strike.

Background / History

Arrival and adoption on Zou

An orphan in his previous life, Rot awakens in the pirate world with a Saiyan body and adopts the name Saiya Kakarot. He presents himself as a ten-year-old orphan swept into the sea by a storm. Iris interprets his tail as proof that he is a Monkey Mink, and Kakarot plays along to secure a place in the Mokomo Dukedom 1 2.

Lilith brings him home, declares him her little brother, and introduces him to Lina. Although his initial performance is calculated, their kindness genuinely moves him; he accepts them as the family he had always wanted 2.

Training and the attack on his family

Under Yingyue’s supervision, Kakarot discovers how quickly he can learn through combat. He follows the tests with punishing physical training, including striking rocks, repeatedly injuring his body, and eventually jumping from a mountain to exploit his recovery-based growth 5 6 7 8 9.

He also teaches his companions ideals of equality, justice, unity, and collective effort. Rather than promising access to the prosperous country he describes, he urges them to build such a society themselves and gives Lina his ideological notebook to copy 13.

The World Government’s attack makes his opposition personal. Seeing his loved ones devastated leads him to resolve that the government must fall. During the ensuing fighting, Lina’s condition triggers his first Super Saiyan transformation, allowing him to kill the CP0 Deputy Chief 17 22.

Departure, Dressrosa, and Dream Island

After preparations and a period of vigilance against another government attack, Kakarot’s companions celebrate their coming departure from Zou. Lina and Lilith accompany him, while Yueli receives permission to travel with the group and study medicine 25.

In Dressrosa, Kakarot rescues Viola from Bloodmad Fini, then approaches Kyros and King Riku. He encourages Kyros to prepare for future dangers and leaves him a training manual containing the Ideological Program 46 47 48.

On Dream Island, Zhebo attempts to possess him. Kakarot defeats him inside his mental world, where Zhebo reveals that a devil within his awakened Devil Fruit had influenced his actions. Before disappearing, Zhebo asks Kakarot to care for the island; afterward, Kakarot apologizes to his companions for exposing them to danger through his carelessness 68 69.

Public ventures and revolutionary recruitment

Kakarot promotes the Mobile Den Den Mushi as a worldwide video platform, proposing cooperation with the World Economy News Paper and revenue sharing from recordings of major battles. Whitebeard agrees to be filmed, but Kakarot refuses his invitation to become his son and later reveals the Revolutionary Army’s goal of overthrowing the World Government 85 88.

He also declines Roger’s invitation to Laugh Tale, choosing to spar with him instead. Their match ends without a decisive winner; Kakarot later explains that he stopped when Roger’s illness worsened 92 161.

Following his encounter with Garp, Kakarot contacts Dragon under the name Lamplight. He persuades Dragon, then struggling to find a direction for his Self-Revolutionary Army, to join the Revolutionary Army 105 106.

In the Troius Kingdom, his allies ambush Army Admiral Chefur and gravely injure him. Kakarot’s blood and Observation Haki are then used to turn Chefur into a supporter, who returns to his superiors with a false account of the incident 113.

Building strength and support

Kakarot treats potential allies pragmatically, attempting to win over even Kaido against the World Government. He defeats Kaido and tries to foster goodwill, though he notices that the effect is already fading before Kaido wakes 126 127.

He later confronts Douglas Bullet, whose respect depends on strength, and offers to teach him Haki control and God of War Body. On Fish-Man Island, Kakarot trains Revolutionary Army prospects while studying Fish-Man Karate himself 132 133 134 139.

His public activities remain distinct from his covert revolutionary work. Heavenly Punishment deliberately releases recordings of operations not directly tied to the Revolutionary Army, while the Anti-Crime Adventure Group earns a favorable reputation among ordinary people 129 142.

South Blue intervention

When Marines and Cipher Pol agents prepare to search the South Blue for pregnant women connected to Roger, Kakarot sends the Anti-Crime Adventure Group to protect civilians openly. He orders his companions to kill CP agents, spare Marines who behave humanely, and kill those who attack or abuse civilians 174.

At the harbor, he challenges Sakazuki to justify targeting innocent women and secretly influences him through the will carried in his blood. The confrontation also leads to another spectacular exchange with Garp, including a Vast Sea Fist Intent attack backed by a thousand-meter tsunami 186 188 195.

Ohara and the confrontation with Imu

Kakarot rescues a badly neglected child from bullies without initially realizing she is Nico Robin. He brings her to Lina and Rouge, then becomes a protective presence in her life while she continues studying archaeology 200 201 211 212.

His original plan is to evacuate Ohara’s people and books. After living among the islanders, he instead decides to stop the Buster Call at sea under Heavenly Punishment’s name. He warns Dr. Clover, reassures Robin that her mother is safe, and helps treat the injured Jaguar D. Saul 211 212.

Before the anticipated naval attack, his future sight reveals an aerial laser about to destroy Ohara. He transforms into a Super Saiyan and moves beneath the incoming strike, identifying it with Uranus and Imu. In the subsequent confrontation, Imu’s knowledge of Saiyans and otherworldly origin provoke another surge of rage-driven power; the provided passage ends with Kakarot reaching a silver-white spaceship 213 214.

Personality

Kakarot is intensely attached to the family and friends he gains after transmigration. His early longing for affection develops into a willingness to risk his life for them. He eventually acknowledges that Lilith, Vian, and the other women close to him are both loved ones and the most important family in his life 2 17 145.

He initially thrives on dangerous training and combat, willingly trading injuries for growth and enjoying opponents who force him to improve. Once ordinary exercise offers little benefit, he becomes much more relaxed; Robin finds it difficult to reconcile his easygoing daily life with accounts of his earlier discipline 7 8 19 28 211.

His egalitarian convictions coexist with calculated manipulation. He genuinely hates slavery, civilian suffering, and the Celestial Dragons, but also uses emotional influence, blood-borne will, intimidation, and forced conversion to expand his support. He knowingly allows historical upheaval to proceed because greater disorder can help the Revolutionary Army grow 56 113 115 148 197.

Despite that pragmatism, he sets personal boundaries: he stops fighting Roger rather than exploit his illness, admits fault after the Dream Island crisis, and refrains from reading the thoughts of people he considers family 69 161 211.

Abilities & Skills

Saiyan Physiology

His bloodline combines exceptional adaptability, rapid regeneration, and growth through surviving injuries 2.

  • Adapts to Simba’s electrical attacks during their fight 7.
  • Gains strength while damaged tissue heals, allowing prolonged battles to favor him 7 36 54.
  • Regenerates wounds quickly enough that Roger’s sword strikes can leave no visible injury by the time the dust clears 92.
  • Needs little sleep to remain energetic 4.
  • Possesses extraordinary fighting instincts and learns opponents’ movements rapidly 5 6.

Armament Haki and Ki Control

Kakarot discovers that his Saiyan ki manifests as Armament Haki. His reserves are enormous, and controlling the energy feels as natural as moving his limbs 7 134.

  • Reinforces strength, speed, and defense throughout his body 7 54.
  • Uses emission and internal destruction together in compressed projectile attacks 17.
  • Tempers his skin and later his muscles; an ordinary knife cannot cut his tempered skin 14 52 56.
  • Creates a shield against Bloodmad Fini’s corrosive blood 46.
  • Can teach advanced control to others, though his flight method requires sufficient reserves and internal-destruction-level Haki 134.

Observation Haki

His Observation Haki extends beyond detecting an opponent’s position into emotions, thoughts, and psychological influence 15.

  • Perceives inner thoughts and can sway people’s feelings 15 47.
  • Identifies a Den Den Mushi Fruit and a Human-Human Fruit, Giant Form 31.
  • Guides Doflamingo into becoming a fanatical follower 148.
  • Foresees Ohara’s destruction ten seconds before the incoming laser attack 213.
  • Deliberately avoids using thought-reading on his family 211.

Conqueror’s Haki

His Conqueror’s Haki develops from his resolve to protect his loved ones and oppose the World Government 17.

  • Infuses attacks with Conqueror’s Haki alongside Armament Haki and fist intent 35 54.
  • Suppresses Kaido’s Conqueror’s Haki and demonstrates infusion to him 126 127.
  • Attacks souls when combined with fist intent inside his mental world 68.
  • Reaches a level described as the highest in the world; his belief that nobody can defeat him in an aura contest remains his own assessment 132.

Martial Arts Will and Fist Intent

Kakarot creates Martial Arts Will by adapting concepts from martial-arts fiction to the world’s physical combat and swordsmanship 14.

  • Mountain-Crushing Fist Intent: A forceful style used in techniques such as Tremor Fist, Hitting the Ox Across the Mountain, Shattering Rivers and Mountains, and Mountain-Splitting 19 54 92.
  • Vast Sea Fist Intent: Developed through underwater training; can combine with the sea to produce massive water-backed attacks 15 195.
  • Spiritual application: Both forms can damage souls, allowing him to resist Zhebo’s possession attempt 68.
  • Teaching: Shares the cultivation method so his companions can develop their own combat intents 14.

Transformations

Form Effects Conditions / Limits
Great Ape Becomes a giant ape over ten meters tall, with greatly enhanced strength and increased speed 13 54. Requires a full moon. Initially loses reason, but later retains consciousness; unlike his Mink companions’ controlled Sulong forms, he cannot activate it independently of the moon 13 54.
Super Saiyan Greatly increases power and speed, producing a blazing golden aura and emerald eyes 22. First triggered by extreme rage and grief. His initial use ends in severe exhaustion; later transformations are shown during the defense of Ohara 22 213.
God of War Body Compresses Haki into armor while reinforcing muscles, meridians, bones, and the surfaces of internal organs; nearly doubles his physical strength 133. Consumes tremendous amounts of Armament Haki 133.

Tailed Beast Ball

An original attack inspired by his previous-life memories, formed by compressing spiraling Armament Haki together with emission and internal destruction 17.

  • Combines rotational force, explosive power, and impact 17.
  • Super Tailed Beast Ball: A much larger version; its first documented use consumes eighty percent of his Armament reserves 21.
  • Its destructive power is not absolute: the Hellfire Demon Ant King withstands a hit with little damage thanks to its armor and Haki 35.

Six Powers, Life Return, and Flight

He masters the Six Powers and Life Return during the group’s training on Zou 13.

  • Uses Life Return’s bodily control with his Saiyan physiology to breathe underwater through his pores 15 31.
  • Flies by releasing and controlling Armament Haki around his body rather than relying solely on Geppo 19 134.
  • Uses aerial movement to evade attacks and travel independently across the sea 14 19.
  • Can fly faster with Lilith’s assistance when her spatial power removes resistance, but that enhancement comes from her ability 77.

Blood-Borne Healing and Influence

His blood has healing properties and contains a will that regards him as its center 25 56.

  • Can deliberately adjust that will with the aim of fostering loyalty 56.
  • Uses blood treatment together with Observation Haki to influence the gravely injured Chefur 113.
  • Later manipulates the will within Sakazuki’s blood to affect his convictions 186 188.
  • Suspects that his blood may preserve youth or extend life after Lina appears rejuvenated, but presents those effects as a hypothesis 25.
  • Attempts to influence powerful targets are not necessarily permanent: Kaido’s goodwill begins fading soon after his defeat 127.

Teaching and Strategic Knowledge

His memories of the pirate world and other fiction inform his training methods, recruitment, and preparations 14 76 115.

  • Suggests unconventional Devil Fruit applications and encourages users to study, experiment, and broaden their imaginations 28 76 77.
  • Teaches Fish-Man Island recruits while learning Fish-Man Karate himself 139.
  • Uses knowledge of future events to seek allies and anticipate threats, including Roger’s execution and the danger to Ohara 115 132 211.
  • Can mentally replay observed attacks and simulate fights to accumulate experience 7.
