Lin Chuan shielded his head with his arms and closed his eyes, ready to die.
But he felt no pain.
He cautiously opened his eyes and found the heads seemingly frozen in place. For some reason, their faces even bore looks of terror.
Lin Chuan looked utterly bewildered. "What's going on?" He had already prepared himself for death.
"I don't know..." The assistant was just as baffled.
Footsteps approached.
They quickly looked toward the sound.
Someone was slowly walking toward them.
Lin Chuan took a closer look. It was actually Su Li!
He watched Su Li approach with graceful steps, followed by Zheng Xing, whom Lin Chuan knew, and a black-robed figure whose face he couldn't make out.
They noticed that the heads were looking at Su Li with extreme terror.
Su Li didn't look at the heads, but as he approached, Lin Chuan saw every head he passed vanish before it could even wail.
By the time Su Li reached them, all the heads had disappeared without a trace, as though the things that had driven them into a corner had never existed.
The Demon-Suppression Bureau personnel watching this were all dumbfounded. Some had already risen to their feet.
Just who was this Su Li?
Their surroundings grew dim again, leaving only the light of the flashlights. In this setting, Su Li's face looked all the more eerily enchanting.
But in Lin Chuan's eyes, Su Li seemed to glow all over like an angel.
Su Li had saved them!
"T-Teacher Su..." Lin Chuan gazed at Su Li with immense gratitude, looking as though he was about to cry.
It was like going straight from hell to heaven. He had thought he was certain to die, yet he had survived-and Su Li had been the one to save him.
