If the Samsara Great Dao could strike terror into enemies at the mere whisper of its name and eclipse everyone of the same generation, then for those who comprehended it, it was an agonizing torment that always led them down a lonely road.
Unwilling to mechanically repeat the cycle of reincarnation once more, Mu Bai deliberately kept his distance from Li Muxue. With that distance between them, he could see her a little more clearly.
He waved a hand, raising a flurry of wind and snow. The snow howled, sweeping up the Pear Blossom Grove and casting it into the Dao Sea.
Here they parted, all traces erased.
The Northern Plains spanned the entire Mixed Origin Continent. This western stretch was an endless grassland, as vast as the sky overhead. Mu Bai skimmed swiftly over the grass. Had heaven and earth been turned upside down, he would have looked like a lone wild goose, flying on stubbornly in solitude, yet yearning in his heart for a flock.
Just as a trace of loneliness and desolation stirred in his heart, the Artifact Spirit Ancestor appeared, squatting on Mu Bai's shoulder and surveying the scenery of the Northern Plains with curiosity.
"The Bearfolk seem to be around here. Let's hurry on..."
Who knew what suffering the Artifact Spirit Ancestor had endured at the hands of the Bearfolk back then, to leave him fearful even now.
"Everything will be fine once we reach the ice forests. Those icy beauties, so tall and graceful-ah, those long legs are truly tempting..."
The Artifact Spirit Ancestor chattered endlessly on Mu Bai's shoulder, but Mu Bai was in no mood to pay him any attention.
"Just like that girl Ji Ruxia. Those legs, so fair, so straight, so long, so tender. Truly the finest of the finest."
