A brilliant golden sun hung in the blue sky, and a white cloud drifted through the clear heavens like a lone sail on an azure sea.
Meanwhile,
Deep within a secluded canyon, mysterious mountain mist rose like a wondrous veil, delicately and gracefully composing a landscape painting that faintly exuded a primeval air.
No, not faintly.
Trees towered into the clouds, their crowns blotted out the sun, and roars that seemed to come from ancient times rang out now and then.
Perhaps, at some unknown point, this secluded canyon had truly entered a primeval age.
"Kree..."
A cry rang out. In an instant, the mountains and canyon echoed with a sound that shook the heavens, almost powerful enough to pierce clouds and split stone.
Looking up, one could see a Golden Eagle slicing through the clouds.
What was frightening, however, was that an ordinary Golden Eagle had a wingspan of only two or three meters.
Yet this Golden Eagle's wings spanned a full five meters.
In particular, the sight of the golden feathers covering its body, as though cast from pure gold, could not help but send a tremor through the heart.
Was this truly a beast that could exist in this world?
"Back again?"
With a hint of solemnity, a willow tree that had already reached around thirty meters tall rustled, its branches rising like a waterfall.

In terms of combat strength alone, this Golden Eagle was truly frightening.
If not for his own presence, Yu Ziyu had no doubt that, years later, this canyon would produce a predator that truly stood at the top of the food chain.
After all, Golden Eagles were already known as the "Crown of Raptors," and trained Golden Eagles could even chase wolf packs across the grasslands.
There had once even been a frightening record of a single Golden Eagle catching fourteen wolves in succession.
That alone showed how frightening a raptor the Golden Eagle was.
And now, this Golden Eagle had evolved several times. Who knew how terrifying it was?
Yu Ziyu guessed that, if not for the frightening aura he gave off, this Golden Eagle would have already swooped down on him.
Indeed, Yu Ziyu's guess was correct.
As a predator at the top of the food chain, the Golden Eagle had long since become this canyon's undisputed overlord. Having awakened a little intelligence had further brought it to its current state.

Among its prey, some already had auras that reached one meter, while others spread as far as two or three meters.
But Yu Ziyu was different.
This monster's aura reached a full ten meters.
In other words, everything within ten meters of his tree was enveloped by his aura.
It was precisely because it could sense this aura, or pressure, that the Golden Eagle had circled in the sky for half a month.
With its intelligence, it could not recognize what was unusual about the tree, but it still understood the instinct to seek benefits and avoid harm.
Even so, the delicate fragrance wafting from afar still kept it from leaving.
Observing, waiting.
As a predator, the Golden Eagle had enough patience to watch this "unknown prey" that made its blood boil until it found the opportunity for a one-hit kill.
"Still not swooping down?"
Quietly watching the giant golden eagle circling overhead, Yu Ziyu muttered inwardly.
He had to admit that being watched by a predator at the top of the food chain felt truly unpleasant.
So much so that whenever he sensed the Golden Eagle's presence, Yu Ziyu instinctively went on guard, every branch poised to strike.
And he was not the only one. In the bird's nest beneath Yu Ziyu's crown,
"Kree, kree, kree, kree..."
The sharp, incessant cries also grated on Yu Ziyu's nerves.
Peregrine Falcons,
An exceedingly frightening kind of raptor,
Were now frantically crying and hopping about in their basin-like nest, looking extremely nervous.
Compared with the Golden Eagle, they were ultimately a little inferior.
Not to mention that they were at entry tier, level 3, a full four levels below the Golden Eagle.
A difference in levels could perhaps be overcome through other means.
For example, the Peregrine Falcons could contend with land beasts ranked higher than themselves.
But they could hardly contend with this "overlord of the skies"-the Golden Eagle.
After all, as fellow raptors, the Peregrine Falcons' aerial advantage and frightening speed would seem insignificant before the Golden Eagle.

Though it had crawled out of its den, its body trembled uncontrollably as it gazed at the giant golden eagle circling overhead.
Foxes were merely another item on a Golden Eagle's menu.
