"In that case, it looks like I can do some damage now, and not a small amount, either..."
Watching the green branch, two or three meters long, swing freely beneath the night sky, Yu Ziyu felt rather moved.
He had thought that becoming a tree meant spending his whole life swallowing his grievances.
He had never expected to gain the "power" to fight back after only a few days.
Chuckling, Yu Ziyu could almost picture a very amusing scene.
Those irritating, buzzing bees-if one came, he would whip one; if two came, he would whip them both.
Over the past few days, Yu Ziyu had had more than enough of those bees.
He was in a canyon with plenty of wildflowers. Whether they smelled nice, Yu Ziyu could not tell, since he had no sense of smell, but during the day, there were plenty of bees, and their constant coming and going was very annoying.
One thing worth mentioning about this canyon was that it spanned roughly a hundred meters, while its height probably exceeded several hundred meters. It seemed to lie in the gap between two great mountains.
As for exactly how high it was, Yu Ziyu could hardly guess.
He was only about three or four meters tall.
There were plenty of trees around him taller than he was.
Through the dense trees, he had no way to judge the canyon's height.
Fortunately, his vision was centered on each of the willow's branch tips.
He now possessed three-hundred-and-sixty-degree vision.
The sensation was strange, but it was very real.
It was a little like a legendary kind of eye-the Byakugan.
With this vision, Yu Ziyu was not restricted by the dense branches obscuring the sky and could observe his surroundings freely.
"Can these trees really grow this tall?"
Looking at the surrounding trees, each so thick that several people would have to join hands to encircle it, Yu Ziyu was rather puzzled.
There were willows among them, too, but ordinary willows only reached twenty or thirty meters in height, whereas these willows...
"Um..."
His heart twitched as Yu Ziyu stared in astonishment at the weeping willows, each of which might have reached fifty or sixty meters tall.
One thing, however, was certain.
There seemed to be something strange in the air.
Sometimes, Yu Ziyu felt warm all over, as though something was flowing into his body.
The sensation was quite comfortable, not far off from a massage.
As such, Yu Ziyu did not resist it and even deliberately began absorbing it.
Of course, what Yu Ziyu had not noticed at the time was that he seemed to have grown two or three meters taller in just a few days.
When his consciousness had first awakened, this willow had only been a little sapling.
Now, it had become a small tree.
Although his body was a willow, his consciousness still existed.
As such, Yu Ziyu naturally needed some necessary rest. Shutting off his vision, he was just like someone who had fallen asleep.
In the blink of an eye, most of the night had passed. A streak of white appeared on the horizon, like a halo, quite enchanting.
Damp mist also filled the depths of the forest.
The hazy mist made this rarely visited ancient forest look like a fairyland for a time.
Bzz, bzz.
Suddenly, a sound reached him, and Yu Ziyu instinctively opened his eyes.
A bee came into view, already flying leisurely through his field of vision.
"Here to disturb my sleep again."
As he grumbled irritably, Yu Ziyu suddenly froze.
Then, as though something had occurred to him, he said fiercely:
"A gentleman can wait ten years for revenge; a willow can wait a few days."
As his words fell, a sharp crack rang out, as though the air itself had burst, and the green blur of a whip swept through the air.
Then, there was no then.
The buzzing stopped abruptly.
At the same time, a cloud of bloody mist slowly bloomed in the air.
"Uh..."
Looking at the bee, which had not even been knocked away but had instead been whipped straight into bloody mist, Yu Ziyu was a little dazed.
This power seemed to go beyond merely terrifying.
Just as Yu Ziyu stood there in a daze, a voice suddenly sounded in his mind again.
Ding, you have killed a bee. Evolution points +0.1.
Hearing this voice, Yu Ziyu remained rather calm.
It was the system's voice, but it had only appeared once before.
He had not expected it to sound again now.
Does it only provide notifications?
After thinking for a moment, Yu Ziyu set the matter aside and turned his attention to his evolution points.
They really had increased by 0.1.
"Now, this is a huge surprise."
Only now did Yu Ziyu, whose reaction seemed a beat slow, sound excited, as though he had discovered a new continent.
After all, he had to work hard basking in sunlight for an entire day just to barely accumulate 0.1 evolution points.
Yet now, merely whipping a bee to death had earned him 0.1 evolution points.
Sure enough, killing and plundering was the way to go.
Pah, pah.
What am I thinking?
I'm going to become a great figure like the Willow God. How could I kill and plunder?
This is merely natural selection.
