A month later, in the waters of Alabasta.

"Ugh! Why aren't we there yet?"

After sailing for so long, Satoru Gojo had grown a little restless. Wearing his blindfold, he lay in an armchair and grumbled.

"Still upset that you didn't trick that Nami girl into coming aboard?"

Esdeath leaned against the ship with her sword cradled in her arms and teased him.

"Huh?! What do you mean, trick? That was a sincere invitation!"

"Yes, yes, an invitation!"

"I'm serious!"

"Mm-hmm! I know!"

"I invited her because I appreciated her talent as a navigator. Isn't that right, Koratt?"

"Huh? Oh, Lord Gojo, I'll go see if we've reached shore! You two keep talking."

As Crocodile listened to his subordinate's report, his brow furrowed slightly. "Damn Marines, dumping their problems on me!"

When Marine Headquarters learned that the Jujutsu Pirates would be passing through Alabasta, they decided to have Crocodile, one of the Shichibukai, deal with them.

Crocodile then had his subordinates gather information on the Jujutsu Pirates.

The Jujutsu Pirates looked somewhat troublesome, but that was all.

I'm one of the Shichibukai. If I can't even wipe out a pirate crew from the Weakest Sea, I might as well quit!

If they're strong enough, I'll just make them my subordinates!

"Miss All Sunday, take Mr. 1 and capture them for me! Try to bring them back alive. I want them to join Baroque Works!"

"Of course, Mr. President!"

Robin's voice came from the darkness behind Crocodile.

"Lord Gojo, where are we going?"

Koratt asked as he walked beside Satoru Gojo.

"To find my subordinate!"

"Sir, who could possibly warrant you coming to find them in person?"

"Crocodile of the Shichibukai!"

"Crocodile of the Shichibukai! He's your subordinate!"

"Not yet, but he will be soon!"

"Huh? Not yet? Then are you going to...?"

Hearing Satoru Gojo's words, Koratt arrived at an unbelievable guess.

"Lord Gojo, he's one of the Shichibukai! Only pirates powerful enough to intimidate everyone qualify to be chosen as Shichibukai! They aren't easy to bring under your command!"

Rather than answer Koratt, Satoru Gojo stopped and said:

"You've been following us since we got off the ship. Aren't you going to show yourselves? I'm very busy! I don't have time to play hide-and-seek with you!"

"Someone's following us?"

Koratt immediately went on guard and drew his treasured sword.

"As expected of someone the president has his eye on. You noticed me following you right from the start!"

A tall figure emerged from behind them.

"It's nothing. You're just too weak!"

Mr. 1: "..."

Judging by his appearance, he should be Mr. 1, who ate the Dice-Dice Fruit. His president should be Crocodile.

I searched high and low without finding him, and now he's fallen right into my lap!

"There's another person. Do I have to invite you out myself?"

"What other person? I'm more than enough to deal with you alone! Come with me!"

Mr. 1 covered for Robin.

A wall collapsed with a crash, and a slender figure leaped out.

"My, my! What an enthusiastic invitation, Mr. Satoru Gojo!"

Robin smiled, looking so composed that it was as though she hadn't been the one attacked just now.

"I'm always enthusiastic with guests!" Satoru Gojo changed the subject. "Did Crocodile send you?"

Shock appeared in Mr. 1's eyes. Robin's pupils also contracted slightly, and her earlier composure vanished.

The members of Baroque Works had always addressed each other by code names, and very few knew the president's real name. Yet this man had spoken it so readily. He was no ordinary man!

"Our president would like you to pay him a visit."

"By capturing you, of course!"

The moment he finished speaking, Mr. 1 charged at Satoru Gojo.

He activated the Dice-Dice Fruit's power, turning both hands into sharp blades and slashing at Satoru Gojo.

The president said to take him alive, but he never said I couldn't cripple him!

Slowly raising a finger, Satoru Gojo said indifferently:

"Limitless!"

Heh, trying to block my slash with just one finger? Pirates from the East Blue really don't know their place!

The sharp hand blade met his finger, but the expected spray of flesh and blood never came.

Mr. 1's hand blade stopped, unable to advance another inch.

"What?! That's impossible!"

Mr. 1's eyes widened in utter shock. Even as he experienced it himself, he still couldn't believe it.

"He only sent the two of you to capture me? He really is looking down on me!"

Cursed energy gathered at his fingertip, then was released in an instant.

The cursed energy erupted, and the resulting impact sent Mr. 1 flying.

"Pfft!"

Mr. 1 slammed into a wall, blood spraying from his mouth, then fell to the ground unconscious.

What?!

Shock once again filled Robin's eyes. She considered herself quite familiar with Mr. 1's strength, yet he hadn't even withstood a single move from this man!

Satoru Gojo hadn't killed Mr. 1. After all, he might soon become his subordinate's subordinate. Killing him would be the same as weakening his own forces.

"Are we going to keep fighting, Miss Robin?"

Satoru Gojo instantly appeared in front of Robin.

Robin's beautiful eyes suddenly narrowed as she looked at Satoru Gojo with wariness-no, with fear.

This white-haired man actually knows my real name. Then he must know I'm the Devil Child, too. If that gets out, the Buster Call will...

At that thought, Robin hugged herself in fear, her body trembling slightly.

Satoru Gojo hadn't expected Robin to be so frightened and immediately said:

After quite a while, Robin calmed herself and said, "Do you know why he wants to capture you?"

"Why?"

"He wants to capture you and make you his subordinate!"

"Oh! Perfect. I'm here to talk to him about becoming a subordinate, too. Please show me the way. Sorry for the trouble!"

Watching Satoru Gojo quietly, Robin couldn't tell how truthful his words were. She turned and walked away. "Come on!"
