The Pardon Order in Saldeath's hand flapped in the violent blast of air. He swallowed and quickly inserted the Special Key into the keyhole.
"Hold on, Bullet. You have to put this Bomb Collar on first!"
With a sharp click, the heavy seastone cell door slid outward, and Bullet strode out of the dark cell.
"Don't threaten me with little toys like that. If Magellan dares try anything, I'll tear him apart too!"
Red Count Redfield gathered his cloak and stepped out gracefully, his voice cold as ice. "Lead the way. I'd also like to see just how hot the blood of this young man who can slay Kaido really runs."
In the shadows of Impel Down's sixth level, terrifying presences awakened one after another. Amid the heavy scraping of chains across the floor, the vicious criminals hurried toward the hidden elevator passage under the guidance of men prepared to die.
Meanwhile, the mist above the sea gradually dispersed.
The Pluton · Fearless cut through wave after wave, leading dozens of armored warships past the remaining charred wreckage. The waters outside Impel Down finally came clearly into view.
Two bronze gate leaves, hundreds of meters tall, towered like sheer cliffs into the clouds, completely blocking the channel ahead.
An enormous cross-and-seagull emblem representing the World Government was carved into the gate. Its dark, blue-green metal surface carried an ancient, weighty luster. This was the supposedly impassable Gate of Justice.
"Reporting, Captain! We've reached Impel Down's outer defensive perimeter. The Gate of Justice is fully closed!"
Holding a navigation compass, Ryan hurried to the front of the bridge and reported loudly.
"The bottom of the Gate of Justice is connected to the Ocean Current Mechanism. Unless the valves are opened from the Power Room, no ship can force its way through!"
