Leaving the Baihua Empire, Lu Yiping and the others headed south.
Several days later.
Lu Yiping and the others arrived in a desolate mountain wilderness.
Thunderclouds pressed down from above, wild winds howled, and the night sky was black as ink. It looked as though a torrential downpour was about to fall.
Seeing the glow of a bonfire from a ruined temple halfway up a mountain ahead, Lu Yiping led Dragon Horn Golden Ox and the others toward it.
Before long, they arrived in front of the ruined temple.
When Lu Yiping and the others pushed open the door and entered, they saw a frail old man and an exceptionally tall, burly youth sitting around the bonfire, roasting meat that filled the air with fragrance.
Seeing Lu Yiping and the others enter, the old man and youth stood up and watched them warily.
"Gentlemen, we're passing through and came in to rest for a while. Sorry for disturbing you," Lu Yiping said to them.
The old man glanced at Lu Yiping and smiled. "You're too polite, little brother. This ruined temple isn't ours either; we only just came in ourselves. If you don't mind, why not join us?"
Lu Yiping did not stand on ceremony and sat down beside the bonfire.
The youth stared at Dragon Horn Golden Ox in amazement. "Big brother, your cow is so unusual." Clearly, it was his first time seeing a golden cow.
The old man, too, gazed deeply at Dragon Horn Golden Ox.
Dragon Horn Golden Ox grinned. "I am the only Dragon Horn Golden Ox beneath heaven and earth!"
"I am the Lord of Ten Thousand Demons!"
"The Ancestor of Thunder Gods!"
"The Emperor of the Dragon Clan!"
After all these years, Dragon Horn Golden Ox still had not changed this old habit.
