Lady Maffey lowered her head to glance at her sword hand. A trace of black electricity still danced in the web of her thumb, forcibly suppressed by her light-clad Armament Haki. But the power hidden in that electricity made her frown. Ma Chao's black lightning power seemed to carry something else; there seemed to be a unique will within its energy.
"Zekrom? A fruit I've never heard of," she slowly spoke the fruit's name. "To think it could erode my light."
She slid Holy Radiance back into the scabbard at her waist.
Ma Chao narrowed his eyes. When a swordsman voluntarily sheathed their blade during battle, they were either conceding or preparing something more vicious than a sword. Lady Maffey was not someone who conceded.
Sure enough, after sheathing her sword, she spread all ten fingers, a golden point of light illuminating each fingertip. The points rapidly swelled from fingertip-sized to fist-sized, then ten lasers shot from her fingers simultaneously. Each beam was only as thick as a finger, but they were absurdly fast. Even Ma Chao's Observation Haki could barely track their trajectories.
"Point-Blank Light Lasers: Ten-Shot Burst."
The ten lasers came from ten different angles. Some flew straight, some curved around behind him, and some struck the ground before bouncing up. Each laser's trajectory accounted for every possible direction Ma Chao could dodge.
Ma Chao drove his tiger-headed spear hard into the ground.
"Lightning Spear: Earthsplit."
Lightning poured from the spear into the earth. The next second, countless bolts of black lightning erupted from underground, forming a churning forest of black lightning around him. The ten lasers shot into that forest, intercepted and broken down by countless layers of tiny electrical arcs, until they all dissipated a meter away from Ma Chao.
