The trident flew out of Saint Killingham's hand on its own to meet Dian Wei's halberd blades. The Twin Halberds crashed into it, bending the entire trident at a grotesque angle. But Saint Killingham was no longer there. As the trident automatically intercepted the attack, he retreated, tracing a circle before him with both arms. From the pitch-black clouds swirling around him, a bow and arrow of black-purple flame slowly emerged. The bowstring drew back on its own, and a jet-black arrow with ghostly green flames burning at its tip condensed on the string.

The arrow left the string and flew skyward, abruptly exploding at its highest point. The dream energy within its shaft became a skyful of black sparks that rained down. The instant each spark touched the ground, it burst into a small flaming nightmare. In the blink of an eye, densely packed little nightmare monsters filled the entire stretch of ruins.
The nightmare monsters did not attack Dian Wei. Instead, they lunged toward Saint Killingham himself, merging into the mass of pitch-black clouds surrounding him. With every nightmare that merged into it, Saint Killingham's aura surged further. A phantom qilin appeared in the sky. As the flaming nightmares merged into it, the nightmare qilin began to swell-fifty meters, eighty meters, a hundred meters.
The giant qilin's scales gradually changed from their original four-colored form to pure black. Every scale reflected a sleeping face. Beneath its four hooves were no longer four-colored auspicious clouds, but dark-purple clouds condensed from fear energy compressed to its utmost limit. Each fall of a hoof sent the ground beneath it into a brief state of sleep. Even the loose stones stopped rolling, as though frozen within a dream.
