Douglas enjoyed a rare moment in his office with no twins and no students serving detention.
He opened the Marauder's Map.
He watched the cluster of little black dots in the Great Hall quickly scatter.
They returned to their respective house Common Rooms.
The professors also returned to their own offices.
But the little black dot representing Percy emerged again not long after entering the Common Room.
Less than a minute after Percy came out, he noticed the Weasley Twins slipping out after him.
They kept trailing behind Percy...
Only when he saw that Percy was heading toward his office did Douglas relax.
At the same time, he noticed that once the Weasley Twins realized Percy's destination was his office, they swiftly retreated.
They found the nearest secret passage and hurried back toward Gryffindor Tower.
Douglas snorted. What was that supposed to mean?
When he saw Percy approaching the door, he got up to open it.
Just as Percy was about to knock, he suddenly saw the door to Douglas's office open.
He asked in surprise,
"Boss, are you heading out?"
Douglas let Percy in and asked with a smile,
"What brings you here so late instead of going to bed?
"Did you have a fight with your little girlfriend and come to me for advice?"
Percy choked. You, Bill, and Charlie never had girlfriends the whole time you were at school, and you're going to advise me?
That book, Slytherin's Half-Blood Prince, would be more useful.
"No, Boss. I noticed you never came back after leaving tonight, and Professor McGonagall only said you were all right.
"So I came to check on you..."
Douglas shrugged, casually picked up a pastry, and took a bite before saying,
"I'm fine. You don't need to worry about that...
