Douglas said coldly:
"Harry, I'm terribly disappointed in you. Have you forgotten everything I taught you in class?
Voldemort is a heartless killer. If you can't control your emotions and think clearly, then despite bearing the name of the Chosen One, you'll only become a stepping stone for his return."
Harry breathed heavily, struggling to calm himself down.
Before Douglas knew Harry was his cousin's son, he would never have bothered so much with him. Even when Harry had overestimated himself and wanted to seek out the Basilisk, Douglas hadn't been particularly moved.
Children could grow at their own pace.
Things were different now. Once Harry became one of his own, Douglas found fault with practically everything about him. He wasn't proactive about studying, he was prone to acting on impulse...
Once Harry had reined in his emotions, Douglas continued:
"Sirius Black came from the Black family, a pure-blood family, but instead of following his forebears into Slytherin, he went into Gryffindor.
At school, he and your father became the closest of friends. One year, he even ran away from home and moved into your grandfather's house.
After graduating, he joined the war against Voldemort, just like your father. Headmaster Dumbledore told me he made quite a few contributions.
But that night, everything changed. Your parents died, and Black suddenly became Voldemort's lackey.
He was thrown straight into Azkaban without a trial, and Sirius himself showed no desire to defend himself.
They say he simply kept laughing madly, right up until he was imprisoned.
Harry, what did you notice in that story?"
After finishing, Douglas glanced at Sirius, who had become lost in his memories.
Harry looked at Douglas, thought for a moment, then shook his head sheepishly.
Douglas wasn't particularly disappointed. He hadn't given Harry many clues, after all.
