Bell, the Anonymous Good Samaritan
"Fina, have you been protecting my Gege well?" Shanna asked with a smile.
(Sure enough, my own little sister is adorable no matter what. Fina's fear of Shanna is probably just my imagination.)
"Awoo~! Awoo~!"
Hearing Shanna's question, Fina stood proudly on Bell's shoulders, nodding her little head frantically. She even patted her chest with her little paws, looking like she was saying, "Leave it to me, no problem."
"Then why were you sleeping in your Gege's arms just now?"
Shanna's smile turned somewhat sinister.
(Sure enough, even when my little sister is throwing a tantrum, she's still so adorable. Fina being afraid of Shanna must have been just my imagination. This is confirmed!)
Fina froze as if the pause button had been pressed. It is obviously a cat face, but it clearly shows a face with the word "". Very interesting.
Cold sweat quickly seeped from Fina's entire body, and in just a short while, Bell felt that the clothes on her shoulders were a little damp.
To prevent Fina from becoming dehydrated from excessive sweating, Bell decides to step in and help the poor little girl.
"Alright, Shanna. Fina is still a baby, so it's understandable that she needs a lot of sleep. I need to continue looking for ingredients. Shall we call it a day for tonight?"
"Alright, since you've said so, Gege. You need to be careful, Gege. I heard that some bad guys won't just let themselves be eaten. This morning, Dad was saying that someone else got hurt by the Fire Dragon."
Shanna was a little worried that her Gege might get hurt. Although in her mind, her Gege was the most amazing person in the world, the little girl was still worried that Gege might get injured.
Moreover, the most powerful person in the story is often defeated by a few weaker people, which is really unreasonable!
"Don't worry, Shanna, I'll be careful. Goodnight."
"Good night."
After ending the video call with Shanna, Bell continued his search.
Bell had been searching for over two hours and was starting to feel sleepy. In the end, he hadn't found a single spider web, let alone the Acromantula spider.
Bell was initially quite happy about being able to "escape Africa and join Europe." But now he seriously doubts whether he's actually a fake Europe.
As the moon rose higher overhead, Bell decided to stop searching until midnight. If he still hadn't found anything by then, he'd go back and get some alcohol to get Hagrid drunk.
He really didn't believe he couldn't fool Hagrid!
Perhaps the Acromantula didn't want to see their human being harmed by Bell. Shortly after Bell made his decision, he spotted a Acromantula perched in a tree, preparing to hunt a fawn.
Arabela is a male Acromantula, and also the eighth child of Aragog, the patriarch of her family. For them, with eight eyes, 'eight' is a very auspicious number. Therefore, from a young age, she received the attention of the entire clan.
From a young age, Arabela enjoyed treatment second only to her father Aragog in terms of both food and shelter, which allowed her to grow up healthily.
After decades of growth, Arabela has now grown into a colossal creature standing 3 meters Gundam. Even among the thousands of spiders in her entire colony, only her parents surpass her in size.
Arabela has always prided herself on her strong physique and deadly venom. Therefore, although she doesn't actually need to hunt for herself due to the support of her large herd, she still chooses to hunt herself every time.
Arabela believed that she could only become stronger by eating prey that she had personally caught.
Arabela has been waiting motionless in the tree for almost an hour now. Patience is an essential quality for a skilled hunter. Only by waiting patiently can one reap the joy of a successful catch.
Persistence pays off, and a little deer appeared in Arabela's eyes.
It's clear that this fawn is only a few days old. For some reason, it has become separated from its parents.
Arabela was 100% confident that she could easily catch this clueless little guy.
Although there isn't much meat from a fawn—one fawn is probably only enough to fill you up about halfway—the meat is incredibly delicious, and the blood that melts in it is also very sweet. Arabela really loves that taste.
It's been almost half a year since Arabella last caught a fawn this big. Even now, Arabela can still recall that wonderful taste.
"No, I can't think about it anymore."
Arabela moved her mouthparts and swallowed back the saliva that was about to drip down.
It's not the right time yet; the target is still some distance from the best hunting spot.
The more certain you are to win, the less you should relax. You must persevere until the very last moment to ensure that the prize doesn't slip away. This is a valuable lesson Arabela has learned over decades.
One step, two steps... almost there, just a little bit more.
Arabela lowered her body slightly, gathering strength in her legs.
The innocent fawn was completely unaware of death approaching. It was still leisurely enjoying the tender grass and admiring the beautiful scenery of the forest at night.
Finally, the fawn entered the optimal hunting range that Arabela had designated. Arabela, like a spring compressed to its limit, streaked across the sky, leaving a trail of afterimages, and charged towards...
"Diffindo!"
A beam of Curses light descended from the sky, Arabela's head and chest, like a spring compressed to its limit, flew past the fawn, leaving a series of afterimages. The resulting gale bent the grass and broke the branches.
The little deer, who had never seen a "flying corpse" performance before, stood there stunned for a while, not quite understanding what was happening. However, judging from Arabela's hideous corpse, it could tell that this thing was not one it could afford to mess with. So, without further ado, it decided to make its escape.
Watching the fawn squeal and flutter away like a husky returning home, kicking up a cloud of dust, Bell couldn't help but silently give himself 32 thumbs up in his heart.
He did another good deed today. Come to think of it, this is already the umpteenth... I don't even know how many good deeds he's done. It's really quite embarrassing.
After silently repeating "Don't be arrogant" a few times in his mind, Bell walked briskly to the corpse of the Acromantula.
This was the first time Bell had ever seen Acromantula.
To be honest, it's a bit disgusting.
If Bell had known what the Acromantula looked like beforehand, perhaps he wouldn't have had this nighttime outing tonight.
