What Does a Kind Mouse Look Like?
Bell closed the book and stretched vigorously.
It's getting late, the sun is setting, it's time to rest and have dinner.
Having found a direction for his research, Bell was in a good mood. He stood up and swayed as he walked back towards the castle.
He's going to the Gryffindor Common Room to retrieve his Little Fina.
"Sigh!"
When it comes to this, Bell is quite helpless.
I don't know what's wrong with my Fina lately. She always likes to run to the Gryffindor Common Room, and Bell has to call her to eat.
I asked her once before, and what Fina said was that she was afraid her newly recruited little brother (Crookshanks) would be bullied since he was new to the place?
Bell didn't believe that nonsense!
Strolling along, from afar, Bell saw that the Fat Lady was practicing her ladylike dance again.
According to the Fat Lady herself, she was the most beautiful woman in the British Wizarding World when she was young. The wizards would often duel each other for the chance to dance with her.
To show his respect for the Fat Lady's diligent and dedicated work ethic, Bell decided to believe her nonsense for the time being.
At least it's a tiny bit more credible than Fina's excuse, isn't it?
With a polite smile on his lips, Bell raised his hand, preparing to greet the Fat Lady as usual.
However, before he could utter a sound, the Fat Lady exclaimed in surprise and moved aside to open the entrance.
It seems someone is trying to come out from inside.
"Meow~!"
That pure cat meow was unmistakably coming from Fina's new little brother, Crookshanks.
A gray-furred rat darted out of the doorway first, followed closely by Crookshanks.
As everyone knows, Bell is a very warm-hearted person!
Moreover, he knew perfectly well that his girlfriend cherished Crookshanks dearly.
Bell wouldn't be foolish enough to miss such a great opportunity to showcase his talent.
The Wand slid from the cuff, and with a flick of the tip, the gray-furred rat floated up.
Controlling the gray-furred rat to float in front of him, Bell ignored its struggles and screams, and looked it up and down.
After a moment, Bell nodded and pointed his Wand at the gray rat's head.
" To Reduce to Dust!"
The light of the Curses flashed and vanished in an instant, shattering the gray rat's bones and internal organs. Naturally, its life ended with it.
Bell placed the rat carcass in front of Crookshanks, who was lying obediently at his feet, watching him.
"Want some?"
Crookshanks turned his head away disdainfully, not even glancing at the dirty rat.
It's not the same cat it used to be. It has an alpha cat now. If it eats this dirty mouse, its alpha cat will definitely look down on it.
Moreover, it wasn't chasing the mouse in the first place, but rather for food.
Seeing that Crookshanks didn't want to eat, Bell simply threw the dead rat out the window.
"Incendio!"
While we're at it, let's scatter its ashes too.
Bell was a well-read man. As far as he knew, rats carried many kinds of germs. Once their bodies rotted and smelled foul, they could easily become a source of many diseases.
As a member of the new century... "Four Haves?" or "Five Goods?" Bell couldn't even remember which one he used last time. In any case, he wouldn't let this dead rat rot in the wilderness.
So is there any better way to dispose of the body than cremation?
Actually, Bell didn't kill the rat to feed Crookshanks.
At least that wasn't the primary objective.
Bell had known about the mouse for many days.
It may be hard to imagine, but Bell did hear about this mouse for the first time from her own Fina.
He remembered that night, after Fina had gone off to play somewhere and had been having a blast all day, she came back and told him that she had found a gray mouse in the Gryffindor Common Room that looked very strange.
(The Bi'an can distinguish right from wrong and good from evil.)
Bell became curious. He asked Fina, "What's wrong?"
As a result, Fina said that the rat had evil thoughts!
'...'
For the first time in his life, Bell realized that mice could also have thoughts of good and evil!
What should a kind mouse be like?
Shuke and Beta?
No matter how wicked a rat's thoughts may be, it's still just a rat. Bell took it as a joke and then paid it no further attention.
Today, by sheer coincidence, Bell happened to run into the gray mouse that Fina had mentioned before.
Since he had nothing better to do, Bell decided to catch the supposedly wicked little guy.
After observing for a while, Bell began to understand what his Fina had meant earlier.
Generally speaking, the clarity of thought varies greatly among animals depending on the degree of brain development.
Rats are considered relatively intelligent animals.
However, no matter how intelligent a mouse is, it is still far behind humans.
After saying all that, what Bell really wanted to express was that, after a rough assessment, he discovered that the gray mouse's level of mental clarity far surpassed that of its kind, and was even comparable to that of humans.
So, is this guy a sentient being?
Bell had considered the possibility of a wizard impersonating him. After all, there's a kind of Transfiguration called Animagus.
However, when Bell remembered that the rat was already by Ron's side when he first met Ron, he dismissed the idea.
Bell couldn't imagine that a wizard could maintain the form of a rat for several years just to lurk beside a Little Wizard.
Even "Ling Ling Qi" would have to admit defeat!
As for why Bell didn't test whether the mouse was Animagus?
Hehe~!
What's the point?
What's the point of all this?
Even if it's proven that the rat was transformed from a wizard, so what?
Give it to Dumbledore? Then give Ravenclaw a few points? And maybe even get some kind of contribution award?
Does Bell even care about those things?
He doesn't care!
He didn't care what kind of schemes or tricks the other party had.
In comparison, Bell still prefers to avoid trouble.
Wouldn't it be better for him to spend his time relaxing in the lounge with his sister and girlfriend, drinking watermelon juice and eating skewers?
"No--!"
A mournful cry piercing the sky interrupted Bell's thoughts.
To protect his "cute pet" from being eaten by that damn big-faced cat, Ron put in all his effort, sticking close behind his mouse "Scabbers".
Even when his own mother was chasing and beating him, Ron had never run this fast!
However, when Ron rushed out of the lounge, the scene that unfolded before him instantly tore his heart apart.
What did he see?!
He saw that annoying, despicable, pretentious... (omitting ten thousand words here)... that damned Bell Menethil, who actually burned Scabbers to ashes with a single fire!?
How... how could anyone do something so cruel?!
"You murderer!!!"
Extreme anger filled Ron's chest, making him forget that he was a wizard.
At that moment, Ron just wanted to punch Bell hard.
No! It was a lot of punches!
He wanted to beat Bell so badly he'd be covered in bruises! Only then could he quell the hatred in his heart!
