Sealed Away!?

William and Elena, who had been arguing fiercely, finally noticed the strange noise in the room—and that Bell had woken up.

"Oh, sweetheart, you're finally awake! Are you hungry? Mom will get you something to eat right away."

The two quickly came to Bell's side and spoke to him happily.

Unfortunately, Bell couldn't understand what they were saying. He was still mourning the loss of that bottle of milk...

Several days passed in the blink of an eye, and Bell had more or less fully accepted the fact that he had been reincarnated.

Bell had died of heart disease in his previous life at the age of thirty-two. He wasn't sad about his death, nor was there anything he particularly missed.

Lying in a hospital bed and feeling his life slowly slip away, Bell hadn't feared his impending death. Instead, he had felt happiness welling up from the depths of his heart.

When he had been in school, every day had been a dull cycle of school, home, then school again. After graduating from university, he had stumbled into a passable job and fallen into another tedious routine of work, home, then work again. That unchanging life had finally driven Bell to despair.

Years of repression and an unhealthy lifestyle had eventually caused him to develop heart disease in his early thirties, leading to his death.

He did feel sorry for his parents from his previous life, since he could no longer care for them in their old age or see them off. But he was already dead, so there was no point dwelling on such things.

After transmigrating, Bell hadn't been happy simply because he had gained a second life.

After all, he had once hoped for change again and again, only to be disappointed time after time until he had finally fallen into despair.

Gradually, Bell had learned not to hold unnecessary expectations. If he expected nothing, he naturally wouldn't be disappointed. Who knew whether this life would simply repeat the one before it?

So Bell treated his second life with an indifferent attitude—since he was alive again, he might as well keep living and see what happened. Still, he was quite interested in the existence of magic.

Over the past few days, Bell had been looking forward to wandering outside the room and seeing what his home in this life looked like. However, he soon realized in astonishment that he seemingly couldn't get out!?

Whenever his parents entered or left, they had to go through a series of complicated operations that he couldn't understand, though they looked incredibly impressive.

He had also discovered that the walls of this room were abnormally sturdy. In the hospital, a casual wave of his hand had brought down an entire wall. Here, he had rolled over countless times, yet the walls still stood firm.

Therefore, based on Bell's extensive reading experience from his previous life—novels, that was—it seemed that he was probably, perhaps, possibly sealed away!?

His parents in this life came to spend time with Bell every day, but they never stayed in the room for long.

Bell understood that any movement he made could potentially cause destruction, so he didn't blame his parents in this life for it. Maintaining Protective Magic at all times probably wasn't easy for either of them.

To take care of Bell's daily needs and keep him company in their place, they had arranged for several creatures of some sort to look after him. Bell hadn't learned the creatures' name yet, so he couldn't understand it.

These creatures could use magic. They were under a meter tall, with long noses, tennis-ball-sized eyes, and huge ears like bat wings. Overall, they looked rather distinctive.

Several years passed in the blink of an eye.

Since Bell was confined to his bedroom every day, he had little sense of time. It wasn't until two days ago, when his parents brought him a large cake, that he learned it was his birthday and that he was already three years old.

Though he was locked in his room and unable to go out, Bell was still quite satisfied with this life.

First of all, Bell was satisfied with his appearance. Not because he was handsome or anything—what could anyone tell about whether a three-year-old brat was handsome or not?

The reason Bell was satisfied was that he had black hair and black eyes in this life too, which gave him a familiar sense of comfort.

Although he didn't know why both his parents had blond hair and multicolored eyes while he had black hair and black eyes, since his father William had never raised any questions about it, Bell, who knew little about Western ethnicities, simply assumed it was normal.

Second, Bell was living quite comfortably.

As a veteran shut-in in his previous life, he didn't think being unable to go outside was a problem at all. If anything, it suited him perfectly. Every day, he either ate or slept, and when bored, he climbed out of bed to play with toys for a while.

Perhaps out of guilt, his parents had bought him a great many toys.

Really, a great many, because almost no toy lasted in Bell's hands until the next day. The shortest-lived one hadn't even reached his hands before the magic Bell unconsciously radiated crushed it into fragments.

Many of those toys had been enchanted, putting them on a completely different level from ordinary toys. Even Bell, a middle-aged man in his thirties mentally, played with them every day without growing tired of them.

Of course, as a baby with an adult soul, Bell wouldn't really spend every day doing nothing but eating, drinking, and playing.

He made himself a task list, and at the top of it was mastering the language and writing system. In simple terms... learning English.

Why the hell did I transmigrate to another world only to still be doomed to learn English—!?

o(╥﹏╥)o

Bell was on the verge of collapse. However, cruel reality allowed no refusal, so he could only grit his teeth and pick up the English he had abandoned years ago.

Whether it was because of the magic in his body or because babies had absurdly powerful learning abilities, the English he had studied for ten years in his previous life without learning much of took him only about two years to basically master for everyday conversation.

His name in this life was Bell Menethil.

Why does that sound strangely familiar? Is it just my imagination?

Perhaps because he possessed an adult soul, Bell had been born with magic far more powerful than that of an ordinary Little Wizard.

But that wasn't entirely a good thing. Because an infant's Physical Body was too fragile, Bell had been unconscious for an entire month.

During that month, Bell's magic had continuously and instinctively strengthened and modified his Physical Body. As a result, misfortune had turned into fortune, and he gained a stronger physique than other infants... probably the kind that could take on two at once.

Bell also discovered in amazement that the little oddballs who had cared for him and kept him company for three years were actually the legendary House-elves!

To determine whether it was merely a coincidence, Bell had his personal House-elf, Lim, fetch every newspaper from the past several years.

By the time Lim returned carrying a huge stack of The Daily Prophet, Bell had basically confirmed his guess. After roughly skimming through reports from around the time of his birth, he indeed found the names "The Dark Lord," "Harry Potter," and "Dumbledore" in the articles.

Bell was certain now. He had transmigrated into the world of "Harry Potter"!
