Preparations Underway
With the Disillusionment Charm cast by Shanna on their bodies, the three little ones brazenly walked into the Forbidden Forest in broad daylight.
The Forbidden Forest during the day is not as eerie and terrifying as it is at night. Although the light is somewhat dim under the cover of dense trees, the coolness provided by the shade of the trees perfectly alleviates the slightly hot air, giving people a comfortable feeling instead.
In particular, under the effect of Shanna's Transfiguration, the trees and weeds blocking the way in front of the three children all seemed to be welcoming their arrival, hopping and skipping to make way for them.
After the three people walked away, they quickly returned to their original positions, as if they had never moved at all.
The adventure, completely different from what they had imagined, left both Lena and Phyllis wide-eyed as they watched what was happening before them.
"Shanna, how did you do that? That's amazing!"
Phyllis gasped in surprise as she looked at the plants that seemed to have come alive.
That's so cool! She wants to learn it!
"It's just Transfiguration."
Shanna said casually.
As she spoke, she looked around, searching for something.
"Huh!? Transfiguration?"
Phyllis suspected that Shanna was trying to fool her. In her mind, Transfiguration was only supposed to turn things into matches or buttons, right? How could it possibly do something so amazing?
However, Shanna didn't answer her friend's question. Her energy was focused entirely on the search, leaving little room for conversation.
"Shanna, what are you looking for?"
"Lena asked curiously."
To be honest, they didn't know why Shanna had suddenly come to the Forbidden Forest.
"Caves, tree hollows, all sorts of hidden places, or some kind of powerful Magical Animals."
Shanna said without turning her head.
Time flies by as we search.
During this time, the three of them discovered several caves and tree hollows in the Forbidden Forest, and also encountered Magical Animals such as Unicorn, Ghost Owl, and Bowtruckle, some gentle and some dangerous.
But each time, after a brief observation, Shanna would shake her head and continue her search.
As the sun dipped lower and lower, and the light in the Forbidden Forest Forbidden Forest dimmer until they could barely make out the scenery with the help of Lumos, Lena grew frightened.
"Shanna, it's getting dark, let's go back."
Looking at the shadowy woods, Lena had a feeling that something was lurking there, waiting for an opportunity to ambush them.
"Yes, Shanna. We've found so many holes before, what kind are you looking for?"
Even Phyllis, who had always supported Shanna's adventures, couldn't help but complain as she rubbed her sore calves.
She was so tired.
Hearing her friends' complaints, Shanna, slightly out of breath, stopped walking.
Casting the Transfiguration continuously for a long time has put considerable pressure on Shanna. She now has less than half of her magic power remaining.
Even though Shanna had plenty of confidence in herself, or rather, in the many magical items her Gege had given her, in a place like the Forbidden Forest, she would never let her magic run out.
Shanna took out a small notebook from her pocket. She had recorded all the locations that the three of them had found that barely met the requirements.
Originally, Shanna wanted to achieve perfection, but she had to admit that she underestimated the difficulty of searching in the Forbidden Forest.
This is a completely different concept from her previous experience of playing in the mountains near her home.
After selecting a relatively optimal location, Shanna, along with her two best friends, quickly arrived at the cave entrance.
"Fina, it's your turn to shine."
Shanna took Fina out of her arms.
Even Shanna felt a little embarrassed about what she was about to do. That's why she allowed Fina to sleep in her arms for half a day.
Little Fina opened her eyes groggily, looking at Shanna blankly, not knowing what the other meant.
However, Shanna didn't offer any further explanation. The little girl simply lifted Fina high and then forcefully threw her towards the cave entrance.
"Go, Fina, unleash Thunderbolt!"
"..."
Naturally, Fina wouldn't use Thunderbolt; that's some kind of electric rat's signature move.
And so, Fina vanished silently into the darkness of the cave.
"Roar--!"
A deafening roar echoed from the cave. Under the worried gazes of Lena and Phyllis, Little Fina shot out like lightning, as if her bottom had been set on fire.
Behind it followed a huge black bear.
This black bear is not only two to three times larger than a typical England Bear, but what's even more peculiar is that it has a single horn growing on its head.
This is a Bobo Bear. Its single horn can not only emit ultrasonic waves similar to those of a bat to detect its surroundings, but it can also unleash sonic attacks that can cause dizziness and, in severe cases, even internal organ rupture and death.
"Awooooo~!"
Little Fina screamed and rushed toward Shanna.
It should have realized that if the Great Demon King Shanna had specifically brought it to the Forbidden Forest, then there couldn't be anything good waiting for it!
"Fina! Don't come back! Use Thunderbolt to take down that Bobo Bear!"
Clearly, the little girl is deeply impressed by a certain creature from one of her Gege's stories. She's so engrossed in playing with it that she can't seem to stop.
"So what exactly is Thunderbolt? I really don't know!"
Shanna was ecstatic, but Fina was in a terrible situation.
The little guy, who had only flown halfway, was controlled by Shanna using Levitation Charm and thrown towards Bobo Bear.
Because Shanna had already set up Banishing Charm beforehand, as long as she didn't attack the Bobo Bear, and with Little Fina drawing its attention, the Bobo Bear wouldn't be able to spot them.
Little Fina was heartbroken by Shanna the Great Demon King's cruel and mischievous behavior towards her pet.
Seeing the big, clumsy bear roaring and charging towards her, its jaws wide open as if to spit her out, Little Fina revealed a dangerous glint in her eyes.
"I won't just die like this!"
"Awooo—!"
Little Fina took a deep breath, and with a roar from the little guy, a torrent of Dragon Breath erupted, striking Bobo Bear squarely.
Bobo Bear, who hadn't expected that this unassuming little guy could unleash such powerful flames, was now completely unable to dodge.
But it did not sit idly by and wait for its demise.
As a powerful Magical Animals that lives alone most of the year, Bobo Bear has a very strong fighting instinct.
A bright white light shone from its single horn, and at the same time, ripples quickly formed in the air in front of it.
When Little Fina's Dragon Flame struck the ripples, the flames were quickly weakened.
However, in the rush, the sonic shield that Bobo Bear cast was ultimately unable to completely block Little Fina's attack.
Some of the Dragon Flame stubbornly broke through the shield's obstruction and ignited Bobo Bear's fur.
