History Buried in the River of Time
There will always be someone who sacrifices themselves for justice.
Hermione has made up her mind; she will correct the wizards' misconceptions and end the slave-like fate of House-elf.
Once she returned, she planned to establish an organization dedicated to liberating House-elf. She even had a name in mind: the "House-elf Liberation Association." President: Hermione Granger, Vice President: Bell Menethil, Association Member: Sanna Menethil.
Seeing his girlfriend suddenly become so agitated, Bell patted Hermione's head helplessly.
"Wizards could certainly do that; in fact, they had to do it back then."
"Why!?"
Hermione stared at her boyfriend in disbelief. How could he say such a thing? She had considered Bell a like-minded comrade!
"This is wrong! How could the wizards..."
"Hermione!"
Bell sternly interrupted Hermione's speech.
Don't make hasty judgments about things you don't understand!
"..."
With a pout, Hermione looked at Bell, who had been scolding her, with a pitiful expression, as if she was about to cry.
Shanna, standing to the side, puffed out her little chest and gave Hermione a proud look.
She has kept her Gege's advice in mind for many years: only express her opinion after having a fairly detailed understanding of the cause and effect of a matter.
Suppressing the urge to comfort Hermione, Bell began to explain the origin of the Blood Curse within the House-elf.
"Indeed, wizards now enslave House-elf, but that doesn't mean it always was."
I think you should know that House-elf ' Wandless Magic abilities far surpass those of wizards. A newborn House-elf can control the magic within its body almost instinctively and at will.
Speaking of this, Bell has to marvel at the racial talents of House-elf.
By now, Bell felt that his Wandless Magic ability had reached a high level. Bell was even confident he could hold his own against Dumbledore if neither of them used Wand.
Of course, given that both of them were using Wand, it would be more realistic for him to think about how to escape.
Even now, Bell doesn't dare to teleport without using his Wand, otherwise who knows if he'll be short of supplies after Apparition.
However, every House-elf— and I mean every single one—can easily teleport after reaching a certain age.
That's terrifying!
"Therefore, before the invention of the Wand, wizards were at a significant disadvantage when facing House-elf. In other words, wizards were the oppressed ones."
After the Wand was created, wizards Wand possessed it were able to avoid the backlash of magic and unleash powerful Curses within their capabilities, thus finally making up for their racial disadvantages.
However, their good fortune was short-lived. Wizards were horrified to discover that, unlike wizards who needed to choose matching Wand to cast Curses smoothly, House-elf did not have to worry about this at all.
Any Wand, regardless of its material or length, will become like a docile pony in the hands of House-elf, at their beck and call.
This means that once the House-elf crack the method of making Wand, wizards will once again face their oppression. And this time, there might not be any chance of a comeback.
Unable to accept this, the wizards launched a war against House-elf.
After a long period of time and at a heavy cost, the wizards finally won the war.
But then, the wizards, who had intended to completely exterminate the House-elf to eliminate any future threat, suddenly discovered that their heavy losses in the war had caused other Magical Creatures to begin to stir.
Goblin, centaurs, merfolk, and many other Magical Creatures are also coveting the method of making Wand.
Just as wizards don't want to live in the shadow of House-elf again, these Magical Creatures don't want to live in the shadow of wizards in the future either.
With the wizards suffering heavy losses, this is their last chance. Once the wizards are given enough time to recuperate, it will be virtually impossible for them to obtain the Wand -making method again.
Faced with the threat of these Magical Creatures, a wizard's proposal to "enslave House-elf to enhance the wizard's power" quickly gained the approval of most wizards.
Ultimately, by combining the power of all the top wizards in Europe at the time, they were able to finally place the current Blood Curse on the House-elf.
The wizards thus successfully weathered the crisis.
However, things are unpredictable. After repelling the attacks of many Magical Creatures groups, before the wizards, who were extremely weak, could even celebrate their hard-won victory, the Muggle, who had been observing from the shadows for a long time, suddenly turned their knives on the wizards.
Thus began a Witch Hunt that would last for a thousand years.
Faced with the Muggle siege, wizards had no choice but to agree to hide their existence in order to avoid being hunted by Muggle.
This is the origin of the "Statute of Secrecy".
It can be said that the existence of House-elf fundamentally influenced the history of wizarding and directly shaped the way of life of modern Europe wizards.
After listening to Bell's long narration, Hermione stood there stunned, speechless for a long time.
She never imagined that behind a Blood Curse lay such a vast, epic story.
"But why have I never seen any related records in history books?"
Hermione is very fond of studying history, especially the history of wizards.
Born into Muggle family, she is passionate about comparing Muggle and wizarding history, uncovering many previously unknown historical truths. That experience gives her endless joy.
"Didn't the history books say that the wizards didn't take the so-called Witch Hunt seriously at all?"
The book also states that Muggle fire cannot harm wizards at all, and some wizards even deliberately allow themselves to be captured and burned by Muggle, treating it as a form of entertainment.
The "witches" who were burned at the stake were actually innocent Muggle girls.
As the only student who hadn't slept through Professor Binns's A History of Magic class, Hermione clearly remembered the descriptions of A History of Magic Witch Hunt in the textbook. These descriptions were completely different from what Bell had said.
"The A History of Magic is written by wizards, Hermione. And the truth of history is often buried in the flow of time."
Wizards are indeed not afraid of being burned by ordinary flames, but only if they have magic power within them.
However, the magical power within a wizard's body is limited.
One hour is fine, but what about two hours?
If nothing happens for one day, what about two days?
Moreover, Muggle don't only have fire; they also have swords and spears.
Wizards don't have indestructible bodies.
