Hermione Really Means It This Time
He wanted to die together with Bell.
Several Ancient Runes characters flashed across the cabinet door, and Bell sealed it shut. Without his permission, no one else could take anything from that cabinet.
The Sword Embryo he made earlier was actually a practice piece he created in his spare time after he had simply learned some China Weapon Refinement Technique.
Of course, even though it was just for practice, he was full of confidence before he started making it.
However, while the ideal is lofty, the reality is often harsh.
A longsword isn't a ring; you can't just make a circle out of an iron bar. Bell, who had never studied forging, couldn't even create a decent sword shape. He was so frustrated he almost used his Transfiguration.
However, it was just a thought. What he wanted to create was Flying Sword, not an ordinary iron sword. At least with his current skill level, he couldn't apply Transfiguration to forging, otherwise he would damage the magic array inside the longsword.
It is said that only true master blacksmiths can apply Transfiguration to blacksmithing at will.
After lingering in the Alchemy Laboratory for a while, the three returned to the corridor and continued walking forward.
As before, after walking for a while in the deathly silent, seemingly endless corridor, Bell stopped once again.
This time, however, he didn't immediately open the door to the laboratory next to him as he had done before. Instead, he turned around and looked at Shanna and Hermione.
"Next, we will be visiting the Bloodline Fusion Laboratory. Some of the scenes there may cause you some discomfort, so please be mentally prepared."
Bell gave one last reminder.
Taking a deep breath, both women nodded, indicating that they were ready.
Bell reached out and pressed his hand against the wall, opening the laboratory door.
The moment Hermione eyes, was immediately brightly lit.
The sudden light made Hermione instinctively cover her eyes with her hands.
After a while, she put her hand down, but the scene that appeared before her eyes made her gasp in shock.
Apart from being much larger, this laboratory is almost identical in layout to the previous Alchemy laboratory.
In the center of the laboratory was a large table, and the walls around it were filled with cabinets.
The only difference is the style of the cabinet and the contents inside.
The cabinets in this laboratory are rows of transparent glass cases. Each glass case is filled with a pale green, transparent liquid.
The liquid contains specimens, organs, and severed limbs of various organisms.
Although Hermione had visited an insect museum with her parents when she was young and saw many insect specimens there, and even occasionally saw some Potions ingredients collected by Snape during Potions Class.
However, none of the scenes I had ever seen were as shocking or terrifying as the one before me.
Because, after Hermione suppressed her discomfort and carefully examined the items in the cabinet, she was surprised to find that these specimens and organs were actually alive!
Rubbing the goosebumps on her arms, Hermione followed behind the Bell siblings into the laboratory.
Looking at the 'specimens' around her—some grotesque and terrifying, some beautiful and lovely, and some covered in blood— Hermione felt as if she had stepped into the laboratory of some Frankenstein in a movie.
"Bell!? What, what is that!?"
Hermione screamed in alarm when she saw the glass cabinet at the very back of the laboratory.
She's really torn. So should she call the police... no, find the Auror and arrest Bell?
In the innermost glass case of this laboratory, Hermione was shocked to see a human baby immersed in a solution!
"This is our most successful work to date."
Bell said casually, not noticing the shock in Hermione's tone.
While experiments involving the fusion of bloodlines between different types of Magical Animals occasionally yield one or two successful individuals, experiments involving the integration of Magical Animals bloodlines into human bodies have consistently been unsuccessful.
(Hagrid can create Magical Creatures like the Blast-Ended Skrewt in a summer vacation. Bell, who is on a higher level in terms of both magic and resources, occasionally creates new species as well.)
However, like the Blast-Ended Skrewt, these artificially created species, having not undergone the selection process of natural laws, mostly have various defects and are not of much practical significance.
Compared to Magical Animals, the human body is far too fragile. Almost all the experimental subjects ultimately succumbed to the wild bloodline of the Magical Animals, their bodies collapsing in the process.
The reason for using "almost" instead of "all" is because of the existence of this special case.
For some reason, the individual before me exhibited a strong tolerance to the alien magic and successfully completed the fusion of bloodlines.
Although this resulted in several abnormalities appearing on the test subject, it was still something that made Bell very happy.
"A work of art? How can you call that a work of art?! Isn't that just a baby?!"
Hermione was utterly shocked to see Bell acting so nonchalant. She had never imagined that Bell could be... could be that kind of person!
"Tell me! Where did you steal this child from?!"
"Uh... I didn't steal this, I made it myself."
Bell was quite helpless seeing Hermione looking like she was about to pull out her Wand at the slightest provocation.
That's why he didn't want Hermione to see these things.
Strictly speaking, these things are indeed not very harmonious. It's understandable that Hermione can't accept them.
"Made? You made it with whom!?"
Hermione stared at Bell in disbelief.
Even among wizards who can use magical powers, Hermione has never heard of any male wizard who can give birth on his own.
So, Bell had a child with someone else?! And he treated his child like this?!
Thinking of this, Hermione pulled out her Wand without hesitation. She gripped the Wand tightly with her trembling right hand, her eyes brimming with tears.
She has made up her mind that if Bell cannot provide a reasonable explanation, she will take him down with Bell today!
"Uh, no, Hermione, don't get agitated, it's not what you think."
Reaching out to hold his younger sister back, stopping Shanna's attempt to nip the danger in the bud, Bell hurriedly explained.
"Have you ever heard of Cloning Technology? This is created using a technology similar to cloning. I fused human cells with the cells of Magical Animals and then cultivated it."
In practice, it's certainly not as simple as Bell described.
However, Bell didn't intend to explain the complicated procedures to Hermione in detail here. He figured Hermione wouldn't be interested in listening anyway.
