My Sister Can't Be This Cute
A series of hurried footsteps came from outside the door.
'Clang~~Crash~~'
A strange sound rang out, and Bell quickly hid behind the bed, afraid that the bedroom door would come flying in the next moment.
With a final BANG, the wooden door that had stood guard for five years finally fell. Bell's mother, Elena Menethil, rushed in anxiously.
"Mom, what happened?" Bell asked, utterly bewildered.
She had gone in and out so many times already. Why had she never made such a huge commotion before?
"Nothing, darling. I just accidentally used the wrong Curses."
Elena looked at Bell excitedly.
"Lim said you can already control the magic inside your body. Is that true?"
Clearly, she had no time to care about such trivial matters right now.
"Yes."
Bell pointed at a sheet of parchment on the floor. The parchment flew up on its own, folded itself into a paper crane, and flapped its wings as it circled Bell once.
"That's wonderful, darling!"
Elena rushed over and pulled Bell tightly into her arms, trembling faintly with excitement. Her son had really managed to control his own magic. She had thought Bell would have to live in his room for the rest of his life. After all, even many adult wizards could not control their magic properly.
"Mom, I want to go outside and have a look," Bell said with difficulty, nearly suffocating.
"Oh, of course, of course you can, darling. From now on, you can go anywhere you want!"
Following behind Elena, Bell passed through the corridor and down the stairs. It took about ten minutes before he finally reached the outdoors.
Before Bell lay a vast garden. The ground that should have been grass was covered in snow, with only scattered withered yellow blades of grass peeking through.
Several pebble paths led outward, and a few gazebos stood in the distance. At the center of the garden was a large fountain, though perhaps because it was winter, it was not spraying any water.
A few trees had been planted along the edge of the garden. Bell did not know what kind they were, only that they were tall and sturdy. Beneath them stood toys such as swings and slides.
When he turned around, he saw a castle behind him.
Bell had never seen a real castle in person, so he had no idea whether the one before him was large or small. But he could pat his chest and guarantee that this was absolutely the most exquisite building he had ever seen.
The castle had four floors and was grayish-white overall, with all kinds of relief carvings decorating its outer walls. Its glass windows reflected colorful light beneath the sun. Numerous stone statues stood atop the castle: roaring dragons, eagles spreading their wings, and crouching gargoyles.
"Um... Mom, aren't there a bit too many statues around our home?" Bell asked in confusion as he looked at the scattered statues in the garden.
When he had come out earlier, he had also seen many statues in the castle's corridors.
"There was an evil wizard causing trouble everywhere before, so we strengthened the castle's defenses just in case. But don't worry, darling, that wizard has already been defeated. Considering how many Galleons it cost to make these statues, we left them where they were instead of removing them. If you don't like them, Mom will have the House-elves move them away right now."
"No need. I was just curious. They look fine where they are," Bell hurriedly stopped her, afraid Elena would summon the House-elves the very next second.
Ever since he had seen his mother, she had been in an extremely excited state, and she had not calmed down even now.
"Darling, to celebrate your first time going outside today, is there anything you want? Just tell Mom, and Mom will take you to buy it."
Bell lowered his head and thought about it. There really was not anything he wanted.
Over the years, his parents had always done their best to fulfill all of Bell's requests. They would give him the stars if he asked for them, never the moon instead, so he had long since gotten everything he wanted.
"Nothing... Oh, right, Mom, I want a Wand," Bell suddenly said.
"A Wand? It's still too early for a Wand, darling. How about Mom buys you one when you're a little older?" Elena said awkwardly. Clearly, she had not expected Bell to want a Wand.
"No, it isn't too early, Mom. After all these years of training, I think I'm qualified enough to have a Wand of my own. Don't worry, Mom. I'll use it carefully."
What a joke. How was Bell supposed to learn magic without a Wand? He did not want to waste precious time waiting until he entered Hogwarts at eleven before he started learning magic. What if he accidentally died? He did not have Dumbledore's meticulous care. If he died, he would just die for nothing.
Thinking of the paper crane Bell had casually folded with magic in the bedroom just now, Elena felt that even she would find it difficult to do without using a Wand. So in the end, she agreed to take Bell to Diagon Alley to buy a Wand.
The two took another turn around the garden and breathed in some fresh air before returning to the castle.
"Oh, right!" Elena suddenly said. "You haven't met your sister yet, have you? She should be awake by now. Go meet her."
Bell knew he had a younger sister named Shanna Menethil, who had been born more than two years after him.
However, Bell, who could not control his magic, had been far too dangerous for Shanna when she was still a baby, so Bell had never met his sister.
And after so many years, since his parents and the House-elves rarely mentioned his sister in front of him—probably because they were afraid Bell would feel psychologically unbalanced over his sister being able to live freely outside—Bell had nearly forgotten that he even had a sister.
Following Elena to the third floor of the castle, Bell found Shanna's bedroom not far from his own.
When they opened the door, they found a room much smaller than Bell's, perhaps only half the size. But like Bell's room from a few years ago, it was piled full of all sorts of toys and dolls.
Shanna had already gotten up. Under the care of a House-elf, she had gotten dressed and washed up, and was preparing to leave the room.
"Shanna, come see who this is." Elena pushed Bell forward and said to her Daughter with a beaming smile, "It's Gege. It's your Gege, Bell."
Little Shanna put a finger in her mouth and bit it, tilting her head as she looked at Mom... then at Gege... before finally breaking into a delighted smile.
Though she had learned to walk at a little over two years old, she still wobbled a little, making people unable to resist worrying that she would fall over the next second.
Bell stood where he was and watched his sister walk toward him with a smile. The little girl held her arms open, repeatedly calling, "Gege, Gege," with drool still hanging from the corner of her mouth.
At that moment, Bell could not find a single word to describe how he felt. It was as though a massive wave had crashed over him, shattering the barrier between himself, this world, and his family; it was also as though a warm breeze had passed through him, melting the heart that loneliness had frozen.
Looking at the little angel before him, Bell finally understood why he had transmigrated and why he had been given a second life. It had to be so that he could protect this little angel before him! Protect his sister, Shanna!
Seeing Shanna wobble as if she might fall at any moment, Bell hurried forward and caught her in his arms.
Shanna giggled in his embrace, showing no sign that this was her first time meeting Bell. Perhaps it was the bond of blood, or perhaps it was the resonance of magic, but Shanna felt an incomparable closeness toward the Gege before her.
She took several candies from her pocket, held them up in both tiny hands, and offered them to her Gege.
"Gege, eat candy, eat candy."

Ah—! My sister can't possibly be this cute—! Bell roared inwardly.
