Elective Courses
After parting ways with his reluctant younger sister and girlfriend, Bell followed the other third-year students to the third-year classroom area.
Unlike Hogwarts, students at the Yandu Academy spend most of their time in the same classroom.
Only after advancing to the Upper Academy will students occasionally travel to other places to take classes, depending on the Elective Course they choose.
After finding the corresponding classroom according to the door number, Bell pushed open the door and spotted a familiar figure on the podium.
"Hey! Senior Ma, I haven't seen you in the square before!"
Bell asked curiously.
"I can't be bothered to attend that opening ceremony or listen to those old men spouting nonsense. I'm definitely going to be assigned to Class 1 anyway, so there's no need for me to even hear the Sorting results."
With a wave of her hand, Ma Jingjing said with a look of disdain mixed with confidence.
"By the way, why are you so slow? And where's little Shanna?"
Ma Jingjing looked curiously behind Bell, but did not find the figure she expected.
"Shanna was assigned to Class 1 of the second grade."
Bell said with a smile.
As he spoke, he glanced around the small classroom.
Because he was unfamiliar with the area, he kept observing his surroundings as he walked. This resulted in him falling to the back of the group.
By this time, the classroom was already full. Most of them were talking quietly while occasionally stealing glances at him.
"How is this possible! Why was Shanna assigned to the second year!?"
Hearing what Bell said, Ma Jingjing was shocked.
At that moment, she felt she had been greatly insulted.
When did second-grade students become so strong? How come she didn't know!
Looks like I'll have to teach those brats a lesson when I have time!
The innocent students of Class 1, Grade 2, who were caught in the crossfire, had no idea what fate awaited them.
Bell shrugged and said nothing.
How could he possibly know the gentlemen's decisions?
"Never mind, let's put those aside for now. Let me introduce it to you."
Putting aside what she couldn't figure out for the time being, Ma Jingjing waved to Bell, signaling Bell to stand next to her.
Because of her position Student Council President of the Upper Academy, Ma Jingjing naturally became the class monitor of Class One. She also hosted the class meeting on the first day of school.
"Let me see if any idiots have fallen into Class Two."
As she spoke, Ma Jingjing looked at everyone in the classroom one by one.
"Tch! Five people were replaced? What a bunch of idiots!"
Under her brilliant leadership, five of her classmates were replaced by students from other classes, which was a huge embarrassment for her!
It seems she'll have to teach those five a lesson before going to find those second-year kids.
Thinking of this, Ma Jingjing glared at the five newly promoted students in the classroom with displeasure. Her sharp gaze, like a sword, made the five of them feel a phantom pain as if their skin had been cut.
"Ahem, Senior Ma, what would you like to introduce to me?"
With a couple of light coughs, Bell's words saved the five poor guys whose foreheads were already sweating profusely.
"Oh, right! Let me introduce you to my underlings."
After being reminded by Bell, Ma Jingjing finally remembered the important matter and then said in a rather mafia boss-like manner:
"Xiao Zhang Zi! Xiao Lu Zi! Come here quickly!"
"Big sister, how many times have I told you not to call me Xiao Zhang Zi? It makes me feel like a eunuch."
A young man at the back of the classroom stood up with a wry smile on his face.
So even though he hid at the very back of the classroom, he still couldn't escape being ordered around.
It's so hard for him!
"Boss, my surname is Lü, not Donkey!"
Beside the young man surnamed Zhang, another slightly overweight young man who also stood up looked rather exasperated.
"What's the difference between a donkey and a horse? You're a grown man, stop nitpicking over such trivial things! Aren't you ashamed?"
Ma Jingjing said impatiently.
As her underling, how can I be so petty? That would embarrass her!
"The difference is huge! 'Lü' is in the third tone, and 'lv' is in the second tone; the pronunciations are completely different, okay? And this is no small matter!"
The young man surnamed Lü tried his best to defend himself.
Just kidding, what could be more embarrassing than people actually mistaking his surname for donkey?
The strange look in his eyes made him wish he could find a sack to cover his face!
"Fine, fine, Lü Lulu, your surname is Donkey, okay? What a nuisance!"
Okay, let's not waste any more time.
Let me introduce you, this is Bell... um, it's Bell!
By the way, what was Bell's last name again?
There were too many words, so she forgot.
"I think you all know Bell by now, so I won't go into details here."
The truth is, she had only known Bell for a little over a day and didn't really know much about Bell.
"Bell, the thinner one is called Zhang Xu. And the other one, the petty-minded but fat one, is called Lü Feitian."
They're both my underlings. If you need anything in the future, just ask them to do it. Don't be shy with me.
As she spoke, Ma Jingjing waved her hand boldly, as if being polite to her would be disrespectful.
"Hello, my name is Bell Menethil, you can just call me Bell. It's nice to meet you both."
Bell greeted Zhang and Lü with a smile.
He didn't take Ma Jingjing's words seriously, thinking that the two of them were really just errand boys.
Just kidding, this is Class 1, Grade 3 of the Upper Academy, where the best students in the entire Academy are gathered.
It is no exaggeration to say that every one of them here may one day become famous in the Cultivation World.
After greeting Bell and the two men, Ma Jingjing, having finished her personal matters, decided to get down to business.
"You two, hand out the course selection forms. I still need to explain the course selection content to Bell."
After handing a stack of sheets on the lectern to her underlings, Ma Jingjing then handed the same sheet to Bell.
"Students in the Upper Academy may be required to take Elective Course. Each student may take at least three courses per semester, with no upper limit, or may take all of them."
On the first day of each academic year, students can choose their Elective Course for the following year.
However, most people will not change their Elective Course.
Because if you change courses, you might fall behind in the course progress.
The teachers wouldn't let one or two newcomers disrupt the overall teaching schedule. Therefore, any missed material had to be learned on privately.
The Elective Course are divided into seven categories: weapon crafting, alchemy, magic arrays, Talisman, Combat Practice, Spirit-Rootless Person Political System Analysis, and Close Combat Techniques. You can choose from this list according to your preferences.
If you have any questions about the specific course content, feel free to ask me.
