'Weak' Wizards could wear down 'powerful' Ice Elements through the versatility of Curses. Then it was only natural that 'weak' Ice Elements could wear down 'powerful' Wizards through sheer numbers. Nature would always, when people least expected it, teach them one truth of this world:

It really had come out of nowhere...

"Damn! These guys are way too devious! What happened to the trust between people and monsters?!"

Watching the swarm of Ice Elements surge toward them like a tide, Bell could not help but feel a toothache coming on.

"You've got the nerve to say that! Wasn't it all because you insisted on going closer to take a look?!"

Hermione glared furiously at Bell and shouted.

They had been walking along just fine when they happened to encounter a group of spider-shaped Ice Elements passing by.
