Chapters 101–106 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 101As long as it isn't called the [Dicebound Group]

Himeko chose a script about saving a failing family business and entered the Book-on-Paper Kingdom, where she and Himechi Cat were assigned roles at the Star-Expanding Group. They began following the scripted plan to revive it, starting with a confrontation at the company entrance.

  • Himeko rejected scripts about ordinary life and violent crime, then chose the script of a resourceful heiress saving her family's business.
  • The Book-on-Paper Kingdom transformed into a city and instructed Himeko to follow her characterization and script.
  • Himeko found Himechi Cat waiting in a shabby van, and they discovered they could not contact Dan Heng.
  • Himeko drove them to the Star-Expanding Group, where she explained that the script cast her as its newly arrived heiress.
  • Himeko told Himechi Cat that the next scene would involve a snobbish security guard humiliating them before she revealed her identity.

Ch. 102How Could She Be the Chairwoman!

Himeko arrived at the Star-Expanding Group, where Himechi Cat followed the script and mocked a security guard until Supervisor Liu revealed that Himeko was the company’s new chairwoman. After Himechi Cat had the guard fired, someone reported the group’s activity to Mr. Sunday.

  • Himechi Cat complained that she was only Himeko’s driver, then traded places with her in an imagined role swap.
  • At the Star-Expanding Group entrance, Himechi Cat insulted the guard who tried to turn them away.
  • The guard grabbed an anti-riot fork, but Supervisor Liu rushed out and stopped him, identifying Himeko as the new chairwoman.
  • The guard begged Himeko for another chance, and Himechi Cat kicked him away and ordered Supervisor Liu to fine and fire him.
  • In a sewer, someone told Mr. Sunday that there had been movement at the Star-Expanding Group.

Ch. 103What Was the Biggest Difference Between Movies and Reality?

Himeko and Himechi Cat inspected Star Expansion Group, whose executives were looting the failing company, while a disguised Sunday made his way there. The system gave Himeko a mission to find or recruit passengers, and the script revealed that Sunday was about to intercept her.

  • Sunday heard that Himeko had returned with a driver, left the sewer, disguised himself, and hurried toward Star Expansion Group.
  • Himeko asked about the group's business and learned that it invested in failing projects while its executives siphoned off money.
  • Himechi Cat accused Supervisor Liu of embezzling company funds, but Himeko sent him away.
  • Himeko checked the system's mission to find or recruit more passengers and receive Roleplay Progress and a mysterious gift.
  • Himeko read the script passage describing Sunday removing his disguise and introducing himself to her in an alley.

Ch. 104Authors Always Want to Give the Plot a Few Twists

Himeko and Himechi Cat discovered that the [Script] was trying to force them into their assigned roles and overwrite their memories, but Sunday intervened and freed them. Sunday explained how the Book-on-Paper Kingdom worked, leaving them to wonder whether their resistance was simply another twist the author had planned.

  • Himeko and Himechi Cat found Sunday and Zhou Tiange mentioned in the [Script], but found no information about Dan Heng.
  • Himechi Cat warned that following the [Script] could make them part of the story, and the text changed to reveal that the author controlled every character and scene.
  • The [Script] tried to overwrite Himeko's memories, but a voice in her mind dispersed the invading words.
  • Sunday arrived, freed Himechi Cat from the [plot] and [characterization] in her head, and explained that he could resist the world's abilities.
  • Sunday told Himeko and Himechi Cat that everyone in the Book-on-Paper Kingdom lived according to a script written by the author.
  • Himechi Cat asked why they could resist their scripts, and Sunday suggested the author might have wanted to add a few twists.

Ch. 105Get Ready to Surrender

Himeko and the others discussed how the [script] predicted their actions, while Sunday admitted he had no reliable way to escape or defeat it. Himeko decided to return to the Express with Sunday and make the plot uncontrollable, though the group still did not know how to leave the book.

  • Himechi Cat said the [script] made their actions seem as predictable as if their enemy could see the future, and suggested surrendering.
  • Himeko argued that the [script] must have a weakness and asked Sunday for ideas, but he said his attempts to resist it had all been written into the plot.
  • Himeko proposed making the plot uncontrollable and asked Sunday to return to the Express with her.
  • Himechi Cat asked how they could get out of the book, and Sunday explained that he had awoken in the city with a script and knew little about the world.
  • Himeko reassured the others that they would find a way out.

Ch. 106You're Already a Qualified Nameless

Himeko, Sunday, and Himechi Cat explored the Book-on-Paper Kingdom while looking for a way back to the Express. Sunday explained how the kingdom’s residents lived through scripts, and the chapter ended with Himechi Cat discovering that her own spotlight moment was near the end of her script.

  • Himechi Cat proposed following the [Script] to search the city, then revealed that every side of her die showed a cat head.
  • Sunday covered himself with his cloak and joined the others as they went outside to explore.
  • Sunday explained that residents memorized scripts, lived out their roles, and chose another script after dying.
  • Sunday said he had freed several people from the [Script], who described how the kingdom worked.
  • Himechi Cat compared life in the kingdom with ordinary life and found her mechanical-arm spotlight moment near the end of her Driver Script.
