That soured his mood even further. He belonged to the same era as Roger and had witnessed how Roger grew stronger in the East Blue and charged into the New World.
Yet now he was being told that Roger, too, had become a thing of the past.
"Defeated Roger? Impossible! Roger never lost! That fellow had a fighting spirit that stayed optimistic no matter how desperate things got!"
"You brats don't understand a thing. Pirates are unruly! King of the World, Pirate King-do you really think anyone would listen to him?"
"What nonsense about possessing all the world's wealth! The pirates I know would squander any amount of gold in a matter of days and nights!"
The tavern owner sulked over his drink.
