Shane raised his head and opened his eyes.
It was too dark to see clearly, but he could sense several big fellows around him.
Kaido sat beside him, having waited all this time for Shane to wake up.
There were people on either side, too, and they were even taller than Kaido. They were giants!
He had long known that Elbaf was not the only home of giants on the seas.
The giants of West Blue, the giants of the Triangle Mist, the snow giants, and the berserker-like ancient giants were all branches of the giant race.
Rumor had it that they had worked together long ago, but had later split apart for some reason.
No powerful giant had ever managed to unite all the giants again.
As a result.
Even Elbaf, the Giant Kingdom, was constantly at war.
The Giant Warrior Pirates from a hundred years ago had enjoyed their moment of glory, too, once becoming overlords of the seas.
But in the end, some had grown old, while others had been tricked.
Running into two giants in a place like this really was rare.
They seemed quite uncomfortable, though. In fact, the one on the left was practically being crushed to death.
He even made unhappy, dim-witted noises.
Whenever he moved, chains rattled incessantly, and every chain contained a large amount of Seastone.
Even so, restraining this super-sized giant was difficult.
So much so that Shane felt barely affected himself.
Probably all the Seastone shackles had been used to imprison the giant beside him.
The giant on the other side said nothing. It seemed relations between giants really were poor.
Shane slapped his forehead as he finally understood.
They had eaten and drunk their fill, then been thrown in jail!
Oh well.
After his constitution mutated, even his heartbeat had started feeling strange.
He had also gained the buffs of being able to eat three Devil Fruits and go without sleep.
He would count this sleep as the last one of his life.
"Kaido! What happened?"
Shane had absolutely no idea what had happened after he fell asleep.
With Kaido's current strength, ordinary people should not have been able to capture him.
"I was too tired after the battle at God Valley. Fell asleep."
Kaido yawned and vigorously slapped Shane's shoulder.
"Who would've thought I'd wake up here! Hahahaha! This must be a Marine Branch in West Blue!"
"But it's fine. We'll go out, have another meal, and leave!"
Kaido's eyes shone.
He said smugly, "I used to do this all the time when I got hungry!"
"Though I feel a little weak this time. Probably because Seastone affects me now that I'm a Devil Fruit user."
Kaido stood up, making the chains rattle continuously.
With his monstrous strength and Haki, he could still fight his way out.
It was only a Marine Branch prison, not Impel Down.
"So you kindly brought me to the Marines for a buffet?"
"I should thank you!"
Shane also felt a little weak after waking up.
He had to hand it to that sneaky bastard Kaido.
His fruit powers being suppressed meant the Seastone shackles were fairly pure.
Fortunately, his body had been strengthened through Stussy's earlier experiments, as well as this latest mutation of his constitution.

Armament Haki hardened his arms.
Shane felt he could still put up a fight in this state.
Ultimately, strength was what mattered.
Even when Marco could not use his Phoenix Form abilities during the Paramount War, he could still fight with Rokushiki.
A monster like Kaido was merely unable to use the various abilities of his Azure Dragon Form.
His strength was still overwhelming.
Only Shane knew that Kaido had been weakened.
"Your own constitution is so important. It'd be even better if I had Linlin's toughness."
Shane looked around, picturing an elderly Linlin tied up tight by Queen.
"Kid, come with me! We'll hit the road after we've eaten. I'll make you vice-captain!"
Kaido punched the frame of the cell door.
His blows rang out with repeated clangs.
"Dream on. Once we're out, I'm announcing the founding of my own pirate crew right away!"
Shane still had one multiple-choice decision left unfinished: establishing a pirate crew.
The corresponding choice reward was the Paw-Paw Fruit's Lineage Factor!
It was practically a concept-level Paramecia Devil Fruit, and could even mark every place its user had visited.
After leaving Bonney, Kuma had traveled around the world. He could send others to any place he had visited with a slap.
Though it still took time to travel through the air at high speed, it had the advantage of taking them straight to their destination.
It was simply perfect!

The giant among giants had originally been lying down.
Hearing Shane and Kaido's conversation, he suddenly opened his eyes.

Logically, there really was no room to hold anyone else.

The giant slammed into the cell, smashing a huge hole straight through it.
He was so tall that he could only keep crawling, but it was still terribly cramped.
"Hehe, tasty stuff!"
The super-sized giant's voice sounded dopey, as though he was not very intelligent.
The other giant, who had still been fast asleep, opened his eyes.
He let out a completely different sort of voice.
"So scary! Wolf! You still don't know how to be gentle. What a brat!"
It was a little cute, but definitely a man's voice!
Shane could not see his own hand in front of his face and had no idea who this was.
But if this crawling, hungry giant was Sanjuan Wolf!
Judging by the timeline, he was now sixty-one years old!
He stood 180 meters tall, even larger than the ancient giant Oars!
Although he was a Devil Fruit user, his body was simply too enormous.
He really was a monster who could stand in the sea without sinking and step on magma with nothing worse than hot feet!
The only one who could call him a brat and had such a distinctive voice was another giant from West Blue.
Giant Morley, who had once dug out Level 5.5 in Impel Down in the year 62!

"I'm so hungry, Big Brother Morley. I'm so hungry!"
Wolf struggled, and the cell began bursting apart.
Neither Shane nor Kaido had expected that they would not even need to act themselves.
The situation in West Blue seemed decidedly abnormal.
"What a silly child. Come with me, Wolf."
Morley reached into the wall behind him and pulled out a shovel.
With one thrust of his shovel at the ground, the previously rock-hard floor rapidly softened.
Immediately afterward.
The enormous pit rapidly softened, twisting into a circle.
It enveloped even Wolf.
"We're escaping, children!"
The 122-year-old Morley spoke in a very cute tone, wrapping everyone inside like malt sugar that had not yet cooled.
The entire Marine Branch cell rolled into a ball.
When the jailers rushed over from outside the door, they felt the world spinning around them.
"They're escaping!"
"I told you we couldn't hold giants! Where would we get that much Seastone?"
"Are those two newcomers giants? One of them doesn't seem to be a pirate. He has no bounty."
Because Kaido and Shane were quite tall themselves, they had actually been mistaken for giants who had not yet grown up.
"Oh, keys!"
Morley took his shovel and rolled it around once, and a ring of Seastone keys fell from the guardroom.
He seemed casual, but he was quite precise when using his ability.

The shackles came off.
Kaido immediately felt different. Before eating a Devil Fruit, he had never considered Seastone a threat.
Only after experiencing it did he realize that Devil Fruit users had a price to pay, too.
"My strength is back!"
Shane's hands transformed into dragon claws, and scales covered his body once more.
"Let's fight our way out, crew!"
"Next stop, the Grand Line!"
Shane charged at the very front as Morley rolled the cell open.
Sunlight spilled across his face, accompanied by an enormous splash.
Wolf fell into the harbor, accidentally whipping up towering waves!
