When Dunn stepped into the council hall with Annie and the others, the entire hall immediately fell silent.
Although they all thought Dunn, the newly crowned Pirate King, would suffer a setback this time, they still had to show him due respect. He was a pirate, after all. If they truly angered him and things turned violent, they might not be able to withstand it.
After all, they were doing business on his turf. No matter how powerful their backers were, they could not station particularly powerful High-Tier Classholders here permanently.
Although Ronald had been a rather poor Pirate King, even he certainly would not have allowed that. How could anyone tolerate someone else snoring beside their bed?
Dunn walked over to the seat of honor, sat down, and surveyed the representatives of the various factions present.
His lips stretched into a smile that could not have looked more fake. "I'm very pleased that all of you could be here today."
No sooner had he spoken than a sarcastic voice rang out.
"Your hospitality has truly been an eye-opener, Mr. Dunn. You don't even have chairs for your guests?"
Indeed, Dunn had not prepared chairs for these people. Everyone was standing. Since almost all of them wanted to reap some benefits while certain people challenged him, Dunn had no reason to treat them pleasantly.
As for the representatives of major factions who did not want to get involved, Dunn could only let them put up with a little hardship. After all, this degree of humiliation was nothing compared to their interests here.
Dunn looked at the speaker. Surprisingly, he was the representative of a minor faction and a Third Tier Classholder himself, making him effectively that faction's leader.
To think they were still playing such petty tricks at a time
