"Roar!"
With a mournful cry, a lion-like creature with a scorpion's tail and fur like flames collapsed to the ground, then dissolved into wisps of sparks and vanished completely.
After killing the fire elemental creature, Maxim stepped forward and pried a piece of pale red metal out of the mountainside.
"Red gold..."
Once he saw the metal ore in its entirety, Maxim looked somewhat disdainful, but still tucked it into his clothes.
After all, the stuff was worth a few gold coins.
Then the group continued up the mountain.
After all, most of the ore carried out by the volcanic eruption remained near the crater. Only a small portion had been flung to the outskirts.
"Mr. Donald, Miss Anna, neither of you has made a move. Are these little things beneath your notice?"
Maddy approached Dunn and Annie with a smile as he asked.
"Haven't you refrained from making a move yourself, Mr. Maddy?"
Dunn replied mildly.
Along the way, they had encountered a dozen or so first- and second-tier fire elemental monsters, all of which Maxim had dealt with.
The minerals brought out by a volcanic eruption all had some concentrated fire energy gathered on them.
As a result, fire elemental creatures were drawn to these ores. It could be said that wherever they found a fire elemental creature, there was an eighty percent chance of finding a piece of ore nearby.
The more precious the ore, the better its energy conductivity, and the more energy it accumulated.
The fire elemental monsters it attracted would be stronger as well.
In other words, the stronger a fire elemental monster was, the more precious the ore near it would be!
But all they had encountered along the way were minor first- and second-tier monsters.
Leaving Dunn and Annie aside,
