"We'll go with you."
Just as Dunn was struggling with the decision, a voice as soothing as a spring breeze rang out.
Geya walked over with several Elves.
"Congratulations on accomplishing the incredible feat of slaying a Legendary against the odds, Lord Dunn. After today, tales of your deeds will surely spread throughout the world."
Dunn ignored Geya's flattery and instead looked at her with a deep, unreadable gaze.
"Go with us? Then you won't be able to leave for the next few years. It won't be any different from confinement."
Dunn spoke to Geya in an icy tone.
"It's only a few years. That might be a long time for you humans, but for us Elves, it's less time than a single journey takes."
Geya smiled gently and spoke in a calm voice.
At her words, Dunn's imposing air faltered. He had thought this Elf had some ulterior motive, but he had overlooked the Elf Race's long lifespan.
As Geya had said, a mere few years was no different to the Elf Race than a few weeks were to humans.
Of course, even so, Geya's choice was not necessarily free of ulterior motives.
But compared with Dunn's earlier suspicions, motives of this degree would have little impact.
"All right, then it's settled!"
They were members of the Elf Race, after all. As long as his bottom line was not involved, it was best to stay on good terms with them whenever possible.
A few days later, the entire world was shaken.
News of the battle on Campbell Island spread throughout the world at incredible speed.
It made the newspaper headlines for several days in a row.
