The layers of magical protection were rapidly stripped away, but Hohenheim remained wholly unperturbed. He continued forming hand seals and chanting in an orderly manner.
A careful listener, however, would have noticed that his chanting had sped up considerably.
Held firmly at bay by the final layer of protective magic, Night Feather wore a hideous expression that looked almost constipated.
After a long stalemate, Night Feather suddenly went limp, stuck out his tongue, and said weakly:
"I can't, I can't! I'm all burned out!"
At those words, the pace of Hohenheim's chanting wavered slightly.
Just then, a sly look appeared on Night Feather's face. His canopy suddenly opened, and his shaft shot violently out through his front!
"Fooled you! Hehe!"
The blade on the umbrella shaft broke through Hohenheim's final defense in an instant and shot straight toward his throat!
The strike was not meant to kill Hohenheim. After all, a Legendary Wizard of his level was not so easy to kill. It was only meant to interrupt his Legendary Spell.
At that critical moment, Hohenheim finally opened his eyes.
But a hint of mockery flashed in them!
Just as Night Feather's blade was about to pierce Hohenheim's body.
Hohenheim's Wizard Robe stirred without any wind, wrapping tightly around Night Feather's blade and preventing it from advancing another inch!
Then it violently flung Night Feather away.
At the same time, Hohenheim's Legendary Spell incantation was nearing its end, and the temperature throughout the Imperial Capital suddenly soared.
An illusory sun slowly appeared in the sky!
And gradually grew solid!

Its power and attack range might not have been particularly outstanding among Legendary Spells.
But Sunfall's greatest advantage was its short casting time. An ordinary Legendary Wizard needed no more than two minutes to cast it.
