Dunn entered the village with Annie and Hoffman.

He left Green to lead the team in observing the situation outside the village. He had brought Hoffman because his ability might well prove useful.

When they saw the three of them, the villagers stared curiously at these unexpected visitors, their eyes full of surprise.

"Their clothes look like the style worn here in the New World, but the designs seem rather dated." Annie studied the surrounding villagers thoughtfully.

"It should be the style from the New World's east coast a hundred years ago," Hoffman said with certainty.

A few scattered children clutched their parents' clothes, hiding behind them and stealing glances.

The older villagers frowned and whispered to one another about what these strangers had come for.

"Who are you? What have you come to our village for?" The old man regarded the three calmly.

Dunn spoke to the old man as gently as he could, but the mask on his face still made him seem somewhat stiff.

"Hmm, so what do you want?" the old man asked calmly.

"You seem to be the one in charge of the village, sir.
