Ch. 321A mother's curse

Dunn and his companions fought off three Legendary Sea Monsters that attacked Prometheus, then withdrew when the creatures stopped pursuing them. Alice revealed that the Sea Monsters had sensed the Curse of the Sea on Dunn’s Devil Fruits, which came from the Mother of Sea Monsters.

  • Prometheus told Dunn that Legendary Sea Monsters had suddenly attacked him after the Human Legendary left.
  • Three Legendary Sea Monsters emerged and attacked Dunn, Prometheus, Hermes, and Bronn, while one inflicted a brief mental attack on Dunn with the words “Mother... curse.”
  • Dunn and the others held off the Sea Monsters but avoided killing them for fear that nearby creatures would go berserk and threaten Atlantis.
  • Alice told them to fly higher, and the Sea Monsters quieted down and sank back into the depths.
  • Alice explained that the Devil Fruits carried the Curse of the Sea, and Dunn identified the Mother of Sea Monsters as its source.

Ch. 322The Enfeoffment Ceremony

Dunn worried that Devil Fruits might be tied to the Mother of Sea Monsters, then oversaw Atlantis’s recovery and held an enfeoffment ceremony for five new Legendary warlords. As the ceremony began, he saw that the power raising their auras came from the citizens’ faith.

  • Dunn warned his people to stay as far from the sea as possible because of the danger posed by the Mother of Sea Monsters and her sea monsters.
  • Atlantis completed its rapid reconstruction, though nearly a hundred thousand citizens had died in Imperial Square and the empire’s total losses were even greater.
  • Annie told Dunn that preparations for the enfeoffment ceremony were nearly complete, and he agreed to hold it the next day.
  • Dunn chose Carter, the Minotaur Chieftain, as the fifth recipient so the empire’s Legendary ranks would represent its many races.
  • Dunn enfeoffed Pearl, Krigon, Eileen, Carter, and Lilith as members of the King's Seven Warlords of the Sea.
  • As the five participants’ auras rose, Dunn saw that the energy came from the gathered citizens and recognized it as the power of faith.

Ch. 323Granting titles

After the Enfeoffment ceremony made five people Legendaries, Dunn organized the Atlantis Empire’s leadership and distributed noble titles. He then tasked Elvia and Carter with appeasing the native races whose lands and way of life had been disrupted, leaving the empire to settle into its new rule.

  • The Enfeoffment ceremony ended with five new Legendaries, bringing the empire’s Legendary forces into double digits.
  • Dunn appointed Lilith empress, assigned government and military posts to his allies, and named Monet court wizard after Valentin declined the position.
  • Dunn granted counts, viscounts, and barons’ titles to his longtime subordinates and the remaining original pirates.
  • Dunn recognized that the native races resented their relocations and felt little loyalty to the new empire, though they could provide valuable fighters.
  • Dunn appointed Elvia ambassador to the races, with Carter assisting her in winning them over and backing her promises with military strength.

Ch. 324Retaliation

Dunn explained that Annie’s Legendary Ascension Ceremony had to wait until Atlantis retaliated against the powers that had attacked it, since the empire had yet to prove its strength. The chapter ended with Dunn insisting that a successful retaliation would deter interference and make Annie’s ceremony safer.

  • The Rock Kingdom recognized the Atlantis Empire, while other Old World powers secretly established diplomatic relations with it.
  • The first God Ascender and then other deities were expelled into the Astral Plane Depths after spending a year in the Material Plane.
  • Dunn played with his daughter Evelyn Campbell while Annie asked when she could begin her Legendary Ascension Ceremony.
  • Dunn told Annie that Atlantis needed to retaliate against its past attackers before she attempted her ceremony, to deter other powers from interfering.

Ch. 325The Twilight Kingdom

Dunn chose Byron of the Twilight Kingdom as his target for retaliation and traveled to the Royal Capital with Pearl. There, he waited in a tavern to test whether the World Consciousness had stopped punishing Legendaries for mass killings, while struggling with the thought of slaughtering civilians.

  • Dunn ruled out most of the Legendaries who had attacked Atlantis and selected Byron because he seemed easier to kill than Spears.
  • Dunn and Pearl concealed their auras in a tavern in the Twilight Kingdom’s Royal Capital instead of attacking Byron immediately.
  • Dunn told Pearl that he suspected the World Consciousness had abolished its punishment for Legendaries who killed mortals en masse.
  • Dunn considered using the attack to test that conjecture and his new ability, but felt conflicted about killing the city’s civilians.

Ch. 326Death River

Dunn tested the Royal Capital’s loyalty to the Twilight Kingdom and decided its citizens were enemies who could not be spared. He unleashed his Death River power across the capital, leaving the massacre underway.

  • Dunn explained to Pearl that he needed to confirm whether the world favored gods before choosing the path to godhood.
  • Dunn asked tavern patrons what they thought of [Eye of Chaos] attacking the Atlantis Empire, and they praised [Eye of Chaos] while cursing the pirate nation.
  • Dunn concluded that the capital’s loyal citizens were his enemies and resolved to set limits on killing ordinary people to preserve his humanity.
  • Dunn unleashed the Death River, and endless blood energy engulfed the Royal Capital.

Ch. 327Making an Example

Dunn unleashed the Death River on the Royal Capital of the Twilight Kingdom, consuming millions of lives to create undead spirits that could serve as his extra lives. Byron confronted him while Pearl blocked Hai'er, and Dunn revealed that he meant to make an example of Byron; the fight began with the capital still in danger.

  • Dunn's Death River poured from a crimson cross and swept through more than half the Royal Capital, devouring its inhabitants and turning them into undead spirits.
  • Byron and Hai'er arrived to stop the destruction, but Pearl blocked their path beneath the crimson cross.
  • Pearl let Byron pass at Dunn's command and prepared to fight Hai'er while Byron confronted Dunn above the city.
  • Dunn called the massacre a small return gift, then told Byron that Hohenheim would face him later, making Byron realize he was being targeted as an example.
  • Byron challenged Dunn to fight in the Astral Plane, but Dunn refused, implying he would continue the slaughter in the capital.

Ch. 328Chaos Rain

Dunn maintained the Death River’s expansion while Byron attacked him with his demonic strength and Legendary Spell, Chaos Rain. As Dunn’s blood-red spikes began wearing down the meteors, Byron closed in and wrapped his arms around the Blood Cross.

  • Dunn sensed that the royal capital’s forces had slowed the Death River, but he focused on maintaining it rather than confronting them.
  • Byron transformed into a Balor and struck the Blood Cross with a fiery whip, but the barrier remained unharmed.
  • Byron cast Chaos Rain, sending green-flamed meteors down to attack the Death River and the Blood Cross.
  • Dunn raised endless blood-red spikes coated with Conqueror’s Color Haki, which broke the meteors’ defenses and gradually extinguished their flames.
  • Byron moved to the Blood Cross and wrapped his enormous arms around it.

Ch. 329Fel

Byron used Fel fire to crack the Blood Cross, but Dunn summoned Prometheus and Hermes to keep him occupied while the Death River engulfed the royal capital. After the river transformed the city’s dead into millions of undead, Dunn activated Plunder and drew them toward himself.

  • Byron ignited Fel fire over his body, cracking the Blood Cross and forcing Dunn to summon Prometheus to knock him away.
  • Byron and Prometheus fought through the city as Fel corruption spread across Prometheus, and Dunn sent Hermes to clear resistance to the Death River.
  • Dunn activated the Death River at full power, while Fel corruption muddled Byron’s mind and helped him gain the upper hand over Prometheus.
  • The Death River engulfed the royal capital, leaving no life in the city except for a few Legendary beings, then formed millions of undead.
  • Dunn activated the Authority of Plunder, drawing the undead toward himself inside the Blood Cross.

Ch. 330Taking Action

Dunn absorbed more than 5.63 million lives from the Twilight Kingdom's royal city without the Legendary Wizard intervening. He battled the Fel-corrupted Byron and, after discovering that resisting Fel drained his Haki, trapped Byron beneath the city's immense river of blood.

  • Dunn completed Death River, absorbing the royal city's undead and sensing more than 5.63 million lives within him.
  • Dunn recalled Hermes and Prometheus as Fel-corrupted Byron pursued them, then equipped Hermes as armor and Prometheus as a flame atop his hair.
  • Dunn countered Byron's attack with a Haki-coated punch and beat him, but realized the Fel was rapidly draining his Haki.
  • Dunn dodged Byron's frenzied assault while drawing the city's river of blood back toward the battlefield.
  • Dunn engulfed Byron in the river of blood, which began weakening Byron's Fel flames.

Ch. 331Body-Burning Explosion

Byron escaped Dunn’s blood river and tried to flee, but Dunn caught him and forced him into a desperate corner. Byron unleashed Body-Burning Explosion, flattening the royal capital as Dunn, Pearl, and Hai'er fled the blast.

  • Byron broke free of Dunn’s blood river and fled, but Dunn used [Future Sight] and [Observation Killing] to intercept him.
  • Dunn tore off Byron’s horn, forced him back into the blood river, and caught him when he tried to escape again.
  • Dunn drew blood from Byron’s head, and Byron transformed into his Flame Demon form and began using Body-Burning Explosion.
  • The explosion evaporated Dunn’s blood river and flattened the royal capital, sending a mushroom cloud high into the sky.
  • Pearl and Hai'er abandoned their fight and fled the city to escape the blast.

Ch. 332Abyss Lord!

Dunn survived Byron’s self-detonation, captured and consumed Byron’s soul, then faced an attack from Abyss Lord Lagras through a Spatial Rift. The chapter ended as Lagras’s enormous lava-covered arm struck toward Dunn.

  • Dunn regenerated his wings after Byron’s Body-Burning Explosion and caught the spark containing Byron’s soul.
  • Dunn revealed he knew the spark concealed Byron’s surviving soul, shattered it, and consumed the exposed soul.
  • A Spatial Rift opened to the Abyss, where Lord Lagras demanded that Dunn hand over Byron’s soul.
  • Dunn refused Lagras, who thrust a massive lava-covered arm through the rift and slammed it toward him.

Ch. 333So What?

Raglas killed Dunn with a strike from the Abyss, but Dunn resurrected and discovered that dying had awakened a trace of the Vampire Fruit’s power of death. Dunn taunted Raglas into attacking again, and Raglas finally snapped despite the cost of crossing planes.

  • Raglas blamed Dunn for Byron’s death and the collapse of their plan to invade the Material Plane.
  • Raglas struck Dunn with a lava claw, killing him while he was still recovering from a Body-Burning Explosion.
  • Dunn resurrected from streams of blood and realized his death had advanced the Vampire Fruit, granting him a trace of the power of death.
  • Raglas mistook Dunn’s resurrection for a limited-use death-substitution method and offered to spare him if he submitted.
  • Dunn refused and insulted Raglas, who hesitated because attacking across planes had already cost him considerable power.
  • Dunn asked Raglas, “So what?”, and Raglas’s anger finally snapped.

Ch. 334One final push!

Dunn deliberately let Ragras kill him repeatedly to awaken the Vampire Fruit, provoking the Abyssal lord into unleashing increasingly powerful attacks. After surviving Ragras’s Legendary Spell and Finger of Death through repeated resurrections, Dunn sensed he was only one final push from awakening the fruit.

  • Dunn stopped resisting Ragras’s hellfire and repeatedly resurrected, seeking to awaken the Vampire Fruit.
  • Dunn taunted Ragras, who widened the Spatial Rift and attacked him with a devastating Legendary Spell of falling meteors and a supervolcano eruption.
  • Dunn resurrected dozens of times during the spell while Pearl and Hai’er fled the battlefield.
  • Ragras cast Finger of Death, killing Dunn instantly, but Dunn resurrected within his unharmed corpse.
  • Dunn sensed that he was one final push away from awakening the Vampire Fruit.

Ch. 335Visitors from the Council

After Raglas realized Dunn had used repeated deaths to strengthen his Death Authority, he retreated to the Abyss, leaving Dunn short of fully awakening it. Members of the Wizard Council arrived to investigate the devastated Twilight Kingdom, and Pearl, Hai'er, and Lamia soon joined them as Dunn faced the gathering Legendary figures.

  • Raglas recognized that Dunn had used their battles to temper his Death Authority and withdrew into the Abyss rather than keep attacking.
  • Dunn realized further deaths would not grant him Death Authority unless he awakened the Vampire Fruit.
  • A group of Legendary Wizards teleported to the ruined Twilight Kingdom, and their old leader identified himself as a member of the Wizard Council investigating an Abyss invasion.
  • Dunn told the Wizard Council that the Abyss lord had been dealt with, prompting the young-looking Legendary Wizard to question his claim.
  • Pearl arrived with Hermes, followed by Hai'er and Lamia, while Prometheus concealed himself above the clouds.
  • Pearl explained that he and Hai'er had fled Raglas's Legendary Spell, met Lamia, and then hurried back to Dunn when the spell stopped.

Ch. 336At Worst, We Fight...

After the Wizard Council confronted Dunn over his massacre of the Dusk Royal Capital, he nearly clashed with Augustine’s group until both sides stood down. Dunn and Augustine ended the chapter exchanging friendly pleasantries after a tense standoff.

  • Hai'er told the Wizard Council’s Legendaries about Dunn’s massacre of the Dusk Royal Capital, and Doris prepared to attack him.
  • Bane demanded that Dunn return with the Wizard Council to answer for the massacre, and Dunn refused.
  • Bane identified Augustine, Doris, and the other members of their group, then threatened to take Dunn by force.
  • Dunn challenged Augustine, while the Wizard Council’s Legendaries, Hai'er, and Dunn’s allies prepared for battle.
  • Dunn opened a spatial passage as Prometheus and Hermes arrived, and the gathered Legendaries’ auras collided.
  • Augustine stopped the confrontation, apologized to Dunn, and both sides withdrew before exchanging pleasantries.

Ch. 337An invitation!

Augustine avoided fighting the Atlantis Empire and agreed to part ways peacefully with Dunn. Before leaving, Dunn invited Lamia to join Atlantis, offering her a Legendary Battleship and the possibility of access to Alice’s Tower of Life, leaving Lamia tempted by the offer.

  • Augustine chose not to confront Dunn because the battle risked heavy casualties, and Lamia showed no intention of helping him.
  • Dunn and Augustine exchanged farewells and agreed to return to their respective destinations.
  • Dunn invited Lamia to join the Atlantis Empire, startling the Legendary figures present.
  • Dunn offered Lamia ownership of a Legendary Battleship and the possibility of secondary access to Alice’s Tower of Life.
  • Lamia considered the offer, especially the Legendary Battleship, which could support her future advancement.

Ch. 338Lamia

Lamia accepted Dunn’s invitation to join Atlantis after settling some old business, seeing it as a chance for better resources and a Legendary Battleship. After Dunn left, she rejected Augustine’s appeal to remain with the Wizard Council and vanished to prepare to move.

  • Lamia weighed Dunn’s offer against the Twilight Kingdom’s collapse and decided Atlantis was an attractive destination.
  • Lamia told Dunn she would join him after taking care of some old business, and Dunn agreed to receive her in Atlantis before leaving through a spatial passage.
  • Augustine questioned Lamia about joining Atlantis and warned that the Wizard Council would eventually oppose Dunn.
  • Lamia dismissed the Wizard Council’s appeal, while Doris revealed that even she had not yet secured a place in the Tower of Eternal Darkness.
  • Lamia mocked Augustine, said she had business to finish before moving, and vanished.

Ch. 339Reveal a Few Things!

Dunn returned to Atlantis after exhausting the Tower of Life’s magic power, then joined an emergency council meeting where the Eye of the Firmament asked for help against the Wizard Council. When the others pressed him to commit Atlantis’s forces, Dunn considered revealing something that might help the Lyon Empire hold out for two more years.

  • Dunn returned to the imperial palace after Alice berated him for draining the Tower of Life’s magic power pool.
  • The Eye of the Firmament summoned all thirteen council members to an emergency meeting.
  • The Eye of the Firmament said the Lyon Empire was facing a decisive battle against the Wizard Council and needed help because its Legendary ranks had been depleted.
  • You Rooster identified several council members who had reached Legendary, and Dunn recognized some as future evil gods from his former life.
  • Si Snake agreed to help personally but said the Elf Race would send no more forces, and the others offered no further support.
  • You Rooster urged Wei Sheep to commit Atlantis’s forces, but Dunn resolved not to enter the war and considered revealing something to help the Lyon Empire endure.

Ch. 340Divine Kingdom!

Dunn suggested preparing a home for Deities before they were expelled into the Astral Plane, inspiring the Eye of the Firmament to pursue the idea. Less than half a year later, the Lord of Dawn ascended with a city-sized tract of land and established the first Divine Kingdom in the Astral Plane.

  • Dunn concluded that the Lyon Empire needed more time and suggested that Deities take a prepared home with them into the Astral Plane.
  • The Eye of the Firmament seized on Dunn’s idea and left to test it, while You Rooster warned Dunn that the Wizard Council would destroy empires and urged him to ally with the Lyon Empire.
  • Dunn rejected the alliance because he feared the Lyon Empire would annex the Atlantis Empire and turn it into a battlefield.
  • Within half a year, the Lord of Dawn achieved Deification and voluntarily departed for the Astral Plane with a city-sized tract of land.
  • The Lord of Dawn cleansed the land with His divine power and established His Divine Kingdom there.
