Lin Ze brought Kabuto to the Orphanage.

Only Miyamoto Ichirō and the old director were at the Orphanage at the time. Miyamoto Ichirō was delighted to see Lin Ze return, and when he heard that Lin Ze had been promoted to Jōnin, he clapped him on the shoulder in excitement.

"Lin Ze! I knew you could do it! A twelve-year-old Jōnin-you're the first our Orphanage has ever had!"

Lin Ze smiled and exchanged a few words with him, then pulled Kabuto out from behind him.

"Ichirō, this boy is called Kabuto. I brought him back from Kikyo Mountain. He'll be living here with us from now on."

Miyamoto Ichirō looked at the small, thin Kabuto, a trace of pity flashing through his eyes. He crouched down and said gently, "Welcome, Kabuto. This is your home now."

Kabuto nodded timidly and whispered, "Thank you."

On the way back, Lin Ze had noticed Kabuto's battered round glasses, whose lenses were badly worn, so he had taken him to an optician's in the village for a new pair of black-framed glasses.

With his new glasses on, Kabuto looked much more lively, and his eyes looked much clearer.

Looking at Kabuto, who was still somewhat reserved, Lin Ze thought for a moment and asked:

"Kabuto, do you remember your surname? Or the full name your parents gave you?"

Kabuto shook his head blankly and said quietly, "I don't remember... I only know my name is Kabuto."

Just as in the original story, his memories were hazy, and he remembered only his name.

Lin Ze pondered for a moment.

According to his original fate, Nonō should have brought Kabuto back to the Orphanage and given him the name "Kabuto Yakushi." But Nonō's whereabouts were now unknown, and there was no telling when she would return.
