In the distance, on the branch of a large tree, Lin Ze suppressed every trace of his presence and silently watched Yamato disappear into the depths of the forest.

Lin Ze opened his hand and looked at the small piece of bright red tissue in the sealed container he held, a trace of satisfaction flashing in his eyes.
The whole operation had been clean and efficient. He had used none of his signature abilities, such as the Eight Gates Released Formation or Chakra Enhanced Strength, and had successfully misled Yamato.
Yamato would only regard this encounter as a terrorist attack against Root with an unknown objective. He would never connect it to someone coming specifically for his cells.
Danzo will probably be hopping mad when he finds out.
The corners of Lin Ze's lips lifted slightly in a cold smile.
He had no fondness for Danzo whatsoever. This operation had both achieved his objective and caused Danzo some grief, killing two birds with one stone.
After all, one Jōnin and two veteran Chunin represented a considerable loss of fighting strength even for Root.
Besides, no matter how hard Danzo thought about it, he would never imagine that Lin Ze's objective had been Yamato's cells. Wouldn't simply abducting Yamato have been better?
