The spies we sent to Konoha to investigate your background came back empty-handed, and even the Jōnin squad sent to the Land of Fire's border to capture that Might Duy was mysteriously wiped out... Lord Raikage is very displeased!"
Lin Ze pulled himself away from his thoughts about Orochimaru and understood. So Kumogakure had gone after Might Duy too, only to hit a brick wall.
With the Gate of Death open, Duy was a terrifying figure who could kill members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist in an instant. A mere Jōnin squad would only be marching to its death.
This also explained why Dodai had personally led the team and assembled such an extravagant lineup. On the one hand, he was determined to succeed. On the other, he was probably trying to recover the face he had lost through repeated failures before the Raikage.
"So you teamed up with that traitor Orochimaru?"
