A few days later, in the underground laboratory on Ascension Island.
Lin Ze stood in the center of the laboratory, forming hand seals.
"Release!"
With a bang, the burly Qingtian vanished, returning to Peach Paradise.
Lin Ze was left alone in the laboratory. He waited patiently, maintaining a subtle mental connection with Qingtian far away in Peach Paradise.
After roughly the time it took an incense stick to burn, a clear summoning pulse came through their contract.
"Here it comes!"
Lin Ze's gaze sharpened. Rather than resist the force, he actively guided his chakra to respond to it.
Hum!
A strange sensation of spatial distortion enveloped his entire body, and the scene before him instantly blurred.
After a brief spell of dizziness, Lin Ze found that he had left the underground laboratory and arrived in a valley lush with vegetation.
"Master, it worked!"
Qingtian's delighted voice came from beside him.
Lin Ze turned and saw Qingtian standing nearby. He nodded. "Mm, well done, Qingtian."
The Reverse Summoning Technique had succeeded on the very first attempt, meaning he now had another trump card for rapid travel.
Looking around, he found that Qingtian had chosen a fairly secluded spot, in a corner of the valley far from the central area of Peach Paradise.
Even from this distance, however, Lin Ze's keen senses could still pick up several powerful chakra signatures coming from deep within Peach Paradise.
One of those chakra signatures was particularly concentrated.
That chakra... feels a notch stronger than an Elite Jōnin's. I'm guessing that's Enma? Lin Ze mused.
In the original story, Enma had indeed been formidable, capable of trading blows with Orochimaru, who called him the "strongest Summoning Beast."
But Lin Ze had no intention of investigating or approaching Enma.
"All right, Qingtian, send me back."
"Yes, Master!"
