Lin Ze withdrew his dragon claw and stood to one side, speaking flatly.
Yotsuki Rō gasped for breath, cold sweat pouring off his body. After a few seconds of silence, he asked tentatively:
"If I tell you, can you spare me?"
Lin Ze did not answer. He simply watched him quietly.
There was no emotion in those Rinnegan, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
Yotsuki Rō waited a while but received no response. The pressure in his heart only grew. This man's silence was more frightening than an outright refusal.
"I'll talk..."
Yotsuki Rō gritted his teeth and finally spoke.
"I awakened this ability by chance a few years ago."
"As for what caused the awakening... I suspect it had something to do with the Flying Thunder God Technique."
Lin Ze frowned.
"Flying Thunder God? That's a forbidden technique from Konoha's Scroll of Seals. How could you have gotten it?"
Yotsuki Rō swallowed and continued:
"I made a deal with Shimura Danzō of Konoha."
"I handed over Kumogakure's Lightning Release Chakra Mode, along with some of Kumogakure's classified ninjutsu, and he gave me the Flying Thunder God Technique."
A hint of coldness flashed through Lin Ze's eyes at those words.
Just like Danzo.
He would trade away anything for the so-called 'interests of Konoha.'
If a secret technique on the level of Lightning Release Chakra Mode leaked out, it would be a tremendous loss for Kumogakure, but obtaining it would likewise be a tremendous gain for Konoha.
Yet Danzo had chosen to trade Flying Thunder God for it.
Only Danzo would do something that harmed others for his own benefit while throwing in his own side's trump card.
Lin Ze could not help thinking of the Danzo in his own world, then of what had happened
