Defeat in the Future

Before becoming Tang Yin, Tang San attempted to remove Huo Yuhao from power in the Divine Realm. He publicly praised his son-in-law’s service while reclaiming his authority, then prepared to kill him with his grandson, Dragon God Tang Xuanyu. Tang San also intended to purge the deities who supported Huo Yuhao 11.

Their ambush at the Sea God’s Mansion failed. Tang San’s Asura Blood Sword and Tang Xuanyu’s simultaneous attack dissipated before reaching Huo Yuhao, who then killed Tang Xuanyu. Gu Yuena intercepted the approaching God Kings and killed Tang Wulin, while Huo Yuhao and Wang Qiu’er slaughtered Tang San’s allies and family. Tang San was mutilated, forced to witness their deaths, and finally annihilated 11.

Resurrection as Tang Yin

The self-proclaimed God of Wisdom claimed to have saved the last wisp of Tang San’s soul and sent him to Huo Yuhao’s era. It described Huo Yuhao as a Greater Daemon serving a destructive Dark King and recruited Tang San to stop him. Tang San accepted, believing himself responsible for saving all living beings, and was promised a system that would activate later 11.

He adopted the name Tang Yin to conceal his identity from the era’s existing Tang San in the Divine Realm. His longer-term ambition was to replace that counterpart, rather than merely recover a place beside him. He initially avoided killing Huo Yuhao because the death of a Child of Fortune could attract divine scrutiny 11.

His second childhood lacked the advantages of his first life. He struggled to pay for Martial Soul awakening, reach the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and obtain Shrek Academy’s required recommendation letter. Memories of the Divine Realm massacre also haunted his sleep, deepening his hatred of Huo Yuhao 11.

Shrek Academy and the Freshman Competition

At Shrek, Tang Yin shared a dormitory with Xu Yang. Xu Yang recognized the combination of his alias, Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, exceptional cultivation speed, and reaction to Huo Yuhao’s name, correctly concluding that he was a future Tang San 10.

Tang Yin joined the Tang Sect under Tang Ya so that he could openly use its secret arts without exposing his prior knowledge. During the freshman competition, he defeated Wang Dong’s team and blocked a combined light-and-lightning attack with layers of Blue Silver Grass 18 27 37.

He conceded the semifinal to Xu Yang, publicly arguing that the teams should avoid exhausting one another and preserve their chances of taking third place. Xu Yang privately interpreted the decision as an attempt to avoid Huo Yuhao. Tang Yin’s team ultimately placed third, and he was subsequently named a core disciple of Shrek’s Martial Soul Department 28 30.

System Support and Growing Isolation

The God of Wisdom informed Tang Yin that it had reinforced the continent’s protection for twenty years. Tang Yin treated this as an opportunity to compete for resources without being discovered by his divine counterpart. He nevertheless avoided Gu Yuena, whom he believed had also returned from the future and might recognize him 22.

Tang Yin later received a mission to ruin Huo Yuhao’s life, together with the God of Wisdom’s Godhood Inheritance and the Erroneous Dagger. The dagger offered a direct route to his larger ambition: taking the existing Tang San’s godhoods 36.

His confidence in the Tang Sect’s technical supremacy suffered when Tang Ya showed him Bei Bei’s redesigned Godly Zhuge Crossbow. Simple structural alterations had at least doubled its power—an improvement Tang Yin had failed to achieve himself. Suspecting Huo Yuhao’s influence, he began to fear how little he understood this version of his enemy 37.

His refusal to attend Huo Yuhao’s lessons gradually distanced him from the other Tang Sect members. Meanwhile, Wang Dong’er’s affection for Huo Yuhao intensified his resentment; after watching them embrace, he decided that he would eventually erase her memories 42 47.

Becoming Xuan Zi’s Disciple

Xuan Zi observed Tang Yin training at Sea God Lake and praised his integration of Soul Skills with Tang Sect secret arts. After Tang Yin revealed his Clear Sky Hammer, Xuan Zi offered to take him as a disciple. Tang Yin accepted, valuing the protection of a rank-98 Super Douluo whom he remembered would later become a Limit Douluo 47.

The pair planned to hunt demonic spider-type Soul Beasts in hopes of obtaining Eight Spider Lances. Before they departed, Clear Sky Sect envoys attempted to bring Tang Yin back to acknowledge his ancestry. Xuan Zi refused to surrender his disciple. Tang Yin pretended to be moved by the invitation but privately decided that visiting the sect was premature 47.

Appearance

Tang Yin’s resurrected body has ordinary features and blue hair 10.

Personality

Tang Yin combines intense pride in his former identity with a willingness to conceal his feelings behind obedient behavior. He respectfully addresses Tang Ya as his teacher while privately considering her unworthy of teaching the Tang Sect’s founder. When she accepts that hidden weapons are outdated, he thinks of erasing her entire branch from the sect after regaining godhood 37.

His attachment to traditional methods makes him resistant to new knowledge. He dismisses Soul Tools as petty contraptions and refuses to learn from Huo Yuhao, even as his fellow sect members benefit from those lessons. He also approves of Zhou Yi’s harsh teaching methods, reasoning that expelled students simply were not genuine “monsters” 21 22 37.

Despite his revenge fantasies, Tang Yin is cautious about stronger opponents. He avoids Gu Yuena, seeks Xuan Zi’s backing, and eventually admits to himself that he cannot defeat Huo Yuhao alone. The God of Wisdom’s blue-bird manifestation privately mocks both his fearfulness and how easily he can be deceived 22 36 47.

He regards Wang Dong’er’s independence as disobedience rather than accepting her choices. Her attraction to Huo Yuhao provokes anger, and he considers memory erasure a way to restore his control over her 38 42.
