Jiraiya trapped the Six Paths of Pain and Konan in a genjutsu, then began destroying their bodies. As he prepared to continue, Pain suddenly struck him with black rods.

• Konan sensed that Jiraiya's frog calls were immobilizing them with genjutsu and warned Pain.
• Jiraiya used a shadow clone to draw the Deva Path's attack while the frog calls overwhelmed Pain and Konan.
• The Six Paths of Pain and Konan awoke trapped in the Binding Illusion Technique, and Jiraiya explained that their real bodies could no longer move.
• Jiraiya stabbed the Animal Path with a stone sword and agreed with Fukasaku to spare Konan for interrogation.
• As Jiraiya prepared to stab another body, five black rods plunged into his chest, and Pain repeated Jiraiya's warning never to let one's guard down.

White Zetsu revealed that he had captured Naruto, and Pain's forces prepared to seal the Nine-Tails while Jiraiya tried to stop them. Fukasaku and Shima used Frog Song to create an opening, then reverse-summoned Jiraiya to safety as Konan and White Zetsu prepared to delay the approaching fighters.

• Jiraiya saw the remaining Five Paths of Pain and Konan awaken, then White Zetsu emerged and revealed he had freed them from genjutsu.
• White Zetsu opened his body to show the unconscious Naruto inside, and Jiraiya struggled to attack Pain and reclaim him.
• Fukasaku and Shima used Sage Art: Frog Song to paralyze their enemies, then vanished through reverse summoning.
• Jiraiya disappeared in a cloud of smoke, and Deva Path realized the toads had used the Reverse Summoning Technique to rescue him.
• Animal Path summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and Deva Path began preparing to seal the Nine-Tails.
• Deva Path ordered Konan and White Zetsu to hold off the approaching fighters while he sealed Naruto.

The Akatsuki waited among the Land of Whirlpools' ruins as the Five Kage and their forces approached. Obito ordered the group to stop anyone from reaching Pain while he extracted the Nine-Tails, and both sides prepared for battle.

• Hidan and the other Akatsuki members argued over which Kage they would fight, while Kakuzu warned Hidan to stay out of the fight.
• Konan reported that Pain had captured the Nine-Tails and begun sealing it.
• Obito told the Akatsuki to keep the approaching forces from disturbing Pain during the extraction.
• Fourth Raikage A and Fourth Kazekage Rasa charged ahead as Ōnoki, Tsunade, and Mei Terumi flew behind them with the other Kage's subordinates following.
• Rasa recognized that the Akatsuki had deliberately waited for them, and Ōnoki urged everyone to finish the battle quickly.

The Five Kage’s forces charged the Akatsuki, each choosing an opponent to confront. The battle began with Zetsu left alone as the others were intercepted.

• The Raikage spotted Kakuzu and Hidan and charged them, while Darui and C decided not to interfere.
• Kurotsuchi flew toward Deidara, and Ōnoki sent Akatsuchi after her to keep her safe.
• Chiyo and Ebizo went to confront Sasori while Rasa headed inside to stop the Akatsuki’s plan.
• Kakashi and Guy chose to fight Itachi, leaving Jiraiya and Naruto to Tsunade.
• Ao and Chōjūrō set out to reclaim Samehada from Kisame, while Darui and C went after Konan.
• White Zetsu complained to Black Zetsu that nobody had chosen to fight them.

Obito prepared to join the battle as Deidara clashed with Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi, who blocked his path to Ōnoki. Deidara escalated the fight by unleashing C3 No. 18, leaving the confrontation unresolved.

• Black Zetsu mocked the Five Kage, while White Zetsu pointed out that Obito was ready to fight.
• Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi intercepted Deidara as he rode toward Ōnoki, and Kurotsuchi challenged him to get past them.
• Kurotsuchi attacked Deidara with Earth Spikes, but he dodged them and formed a clay owl.
• Akatsuchi protected Kurotsuchi with an Earth-Style Wall, which remained intact after the owl struck it.
• Deidara dropped a tiny clay doll and activated C3 No. 18.

Kisame fought Ao and Chōjūrō to reach Mei Terumi, but overwhelmed them with a massive Water Release technique. The two shinobi were trapped, and Ao urged Chōjūrō to unleash Hiramekarei.

• Kisame confronted Ao and Chōjūrō and declared that Mei Terumi was his target.
• Chōjūrō attacked with water blades while Ao attempted to control Kisame with genjutsu, but Kisame broke free.
• Kisame wounded Chōjūrō with Samehada, and Ao used Water Dragon Bullet Technique to help him counterattack.
• Kisame stopped holding back and trapped Ao and Chōjūrō in an enormous water prison with Great Waterfall Water Shockwave.
• Ao warned Chōjūrō about Kisame’s vast chakra and told him to release Hiramekarei.

Chōjūrō resolved to protect the pregnant Mizukage and released Hiramekarei to face Kisame, but the Raikage ambushed and struck Kisame down. As Samehada escaped underwater, Ao sent Chōjūrō to guard the Mizukage while he tracked the sword.

• Chōjūrō overcame his fear for the Mizukage’s sake and released Hiramekarei.
• Kisame prepared to use the Great Waterfall Water Shockwave and challenged Chōjūrō.
• The Raikage appeared behind Kisame and hit him with Liger Bomb, sending him beneath the water.
• The Raikage told Ao and Chōjūrō to protect their Kage, then vanished.
• Samehada swam away, so Ao went after it while Chōjūrō hurried to protect the Mizukage.

The Allied Shinobi Forces overwhelmed Akatsuki until a giant, terrifying creature leaped onto the battlefield. The Five Kage and the other shinobi stopped fighting and faced the new threat.

• Chōjūrō searched for Mei Terumi as the battle became a free-for-all, with the Raikage and Tsuchikage devastating Akatsuki and White Zetsu's forces.
• Kakuzu emerged from the rubble with only one heart left while Hidan cursed from his scattered body parts.
• Hyuga Hiashi, Shibi Aburame, Choza Akimichi, and Shikaku Nara restrained Kakuzu and prepared to finish him off.
• A howl rang out, and Choza dodged a boulder hurled toward him from inland.
• An enormous, nine-eyed creature leaped onto the battlefield, and Mei Terumi and Ōnoki of the Two Scales recognized the danger.

The Five Kage confronted Obito and the newly arrived Akatsuki members as the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path threatened the battlefield. Obito revealed that Killer B was dead, driving the Raikage into a futile attack while Ōnoki urged him to focus on the statue.

• The Demonic Statue of the Outer Path struck down allied shinobi, and six Akatsuki members with the Rinnegan appeared.
• Obito emerged before the Five Kage and said the Tailed Beasts’ chakra had been sealed into the statue.
• Obito identified the statue as the vessel for the Ten-Tails but refused to reveal who he was.
• The Raikage charged at Obito, but his attack passed through Obito’s body.
• Obito told the Raikage that Killer B had been dead for some time.
• The Raikage attacked Obito again in grief and fury, and Ōnoki urged him to focus on the statue.

The Five Kage prepared to destroy the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path while the Allied Forces held off Akatsuki. As Nagato began awakening the Ten-Tails, Konan stabbed Obito from behind.

• C warned the Five Kage that the statue contained nine terrifying chakra sources, including the Eight-Tails.
• Ōnoki ordered the Allied Forces to hold off Akatsuki while the Five Kage attacked the statue, and Mei Terumi told Ao to summon reinforcements and search for Uchiha Xia Yu.
• Darui, C, Kurotsuchi, and Akatsuchi blocked Obito from pursuing the Five Kage.
• Nagato commanded the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to awaken the Ten-Tails, and the statue began transforming.
• Obito used the Uchiha Flame Formation to shield the statue, but Konan appeared behind him and drove a kunai into his chest.

Konan and Nagato betrayed Obito, but Obito survived Konan’s attack and continued fighting the Five Kage. The chapter ended with Obito abducting Ōnoki and taunting the remaining Kage.

• Konan stabbed Obito in the heart, explaining that she and Nagato had opposed his plan to trap the world in a genjutsu and wanted their child to live in reality.
• Konan and the Six Paths of Pain believed Obito was dead, while the Five Kage prepared to fight them.
• Rasa attacked Pain and Konan with Gold Dust Imperial Funeral, but the Deva Path repelled the gold dust with Shinra Tensei.
• Ōnoki launched Dust Release while the Deva Path’s ability was on cooldown, but Obito emerged behind him and pulled him into his vortex.
• Obito revealed that he was still alive and taunted the remaining four Kage.

Shizune learned that the Akatsuki had gained powerful reinforcements and mobilized Konoha’s entire population, including Xia Yu’s young children, for the war. Just as she prepared to send them out, she heard that Xia Yu had returned with a woman who looked like Orochimaru.

• Shizune received reports that six Rinnegan users, a masked Uchiha, and a giant beast had joined the Akatsuki, and learned that Tsunade ordered every ninja to join the battlefield.
• Shizune, unable to find Xia Yu, decided out of anger to send his children into battle as well.
• At Hokage Plaza, Shizune rallied Konoha’s gathered ninjas, including four-year-old children, and ordered them to move out under the Sensor Ninjas’ guidance.
• A Chunin told Shizune that Xia Yu had returned to the village with a woman who looked remarkably like Orochimaru.

Obito revealed that he had survived by using Izanagi, then Black Zetsu seized control of Nagato's body. Black Zetsu used Rinne Rebirth to begin reviving his lord.

• Obito revived after sacrificing a Sharingan with Izanagi, shocking Konan, Nagato, and the Kage.
• Obito warned Konan and Nagato that he knew their objective and called on Black Zetsu.
• Black Zetsu took control of Nagato, causing the Six Paths of Pain to go rigid.
• Black Zetsu fused with Nagato and used Rinne Rebirth to revive his lord.

Black Zetsu used Nagato to revive Madara Uchiha, who learned that Obito had gathered the tailed beasts and was preparing to take control. As Madara set out, White Zetsu told him that Uchiha Xia Yu had fathered thousands of Uchiha children and married Hokage Tsunade.

• Black Zetsu used Nagato's chakra to perform Rinne Rebirth and revive Madara, revealing that the masked man who had called himself Madara was someone else.
• Madara emerged from the destroyed cave and celebrated his return to life.
• White Zetsu told Madara that Obito had gathered the tailed beasts and sealed them inside the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
• Madara and White Zetsu sensed approaching Uchiha descendants, and White Zetsu explained that Konoha had wiped out the Uchiha Clan and that Uchiha Xia Yu had fathered the new generation.
• White Zetsu told Madara that Xia Yu had more chakra than all the tailed beasts combined and had married Hokage Tsunade, Hashirama's granddaughter.

Madara Uchiha learned about Xia Yu’s enormous family and dismissed it as irrelevant to his goal of activating Infinite Tsukuyomi. At the battlefield, Obito revealed the resurrected Ten-Tails, and Tsunade and Mei Terumi mistook Madara for their hoped-for rescuer.

• Madara Uchiha asked White Zetsu about Xia Yu’s age and learned that Xia Yu had thousands of partners and children.
• Madara Uchiha reaffirmed that his only goal was to activate Infinite Tsukuyomi and went to find Obito.
• At the border of the Land of Whirlpools' ruins, Obito removed the Uchiha Flame Formation after the Ten-Tails’ resurrection succeeded.
• Konan escaped by scattering herself into paper while Obito landed on the Ten-Tails and identified the monster to the Allied Shinobi Forces.
• Tsunade and Mei Terumi hoped Xia Yu would arrive, then recognized the man beside Obito as Madara Uchiha.

Madara reclaimed his Rinnegan and used the Ten-Tails to unleash a spreading forest of chakra-draining vines against the Allied Shinobi Forces. As the vines devastated the battlefield, reinforcements from Konoha, the Land of Earth, and the Land of Lightning encountered the advancing flood of trees and were warned to flee.

• Black Zetsu brought Madara his Rinnegan, which he implanted after Nagato was left to die.
• Madara and Obito allowed the Allied Shinobi Forces to live as nourishment while Madara used his Rinnegan to enlarge the Ten-Tails.
• Gigantic vines erupted across the battlefield, draining chakra and killing or injuring more than half of the Allied Shinobi Forces.
• Reinforcements from Konoha met shinobi from the Land of Earth and the Land of Lightning as they hurried toward the battlefield.
• A Hyuga Clan scout spotted the approaching trees and vines, ordered the army to stop, then shouted for everyone to flee as the forest surged toward them.

Xia Yu stopped the God Tree from attacking his children and led them onward, while Madara Uchiha and Obito prepared to take the reanimated Akatsuki members to another world. The chapter left Xia Yu approaching the battlefield and Madara about to begin his promised performance.

• Xia Yu told Shizune that he and Orochimaru had found the Funato Clan's hidden women, while Orochimaru rejected his claim that she was his sister-in-law.
• Orochimaru sensed danger ahead, and Xia Yu recognized the God Tree wreaking havoc near the Allied Forces.
• Xia Yu used Fire Release: Searing Migraine to halt the God Tree's attacks and reassured his children before leading them onward.
• Obito brought Kakuzu, Hidan, Sasori, Deidara, Uchiha Itachi, and Kisame Hoshigaki out of his eye's distortion after the Allied Forces were nearly wiped out.
• Madara Uchiha agreed to take the Akatsuki members to that world, and Obito urged him to begin the performance he had promised.

With the Allied Shinobi weakened, Madara absorbed the God Tree and transformed into a being with the Sage of Six Paths' power. As Might Guy confronted him, Obito and the Akatsuki arrived, and Itachi revealed his allegiance to Konoha by stabbing Kisame.

• Might Guy found Kakashi exhausted and told him the Hokage and the other four Kage were safe, then rushed off to protect them.
• Madara absorbed the God Tree and Ten-Tails, transformed, and declared that the time had come to unite all things.
• Might Guy opened the Seventh Gate and challenged Madara, who mocked him for using blue steam.
• Obito arrived with Akatsuki members and told Madara to focus on completing the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Kisame stepped forward to fight Guy, but Itachi stabbed him in the heart and revealed he was Uchiha Itachi of Konoha.

Itachi trapped Kisame in a genjutsu and promised to explain why he was saving him. On the battlefield, Guy’s Daytime Tiger failed to harm Madara, who remained ready to fight as the Allied Shinobi Forces prepared to attack together.

• Kisame realized Itachi had been hiding his ties to Konoha and tried to attack him, but the battlefield vanished into Itachi’s genjutsu.
• Itachi told Kisame he was saving him and would explain everything within the illusion.
• Madara stopped Obito and chose to face Guy himself to test his evolved body.
• Guy struck Madara with Daytime Tiger, but Madara emerged completely unharmed.
• Kakashi caught the injured Guy, who refused Tsunade’s treatment and pointed out that Madara was still waiting.
• Ōnoki urged the Kage and Allied Shinobi Forces to attack Madara together.

Might Guy opened the Gate of Death and attacked Madara Uchiha with the powerful Evening Elephant, but the strain on his body began to interrupt the assault. Madara recognized that Guy’s air-based blows were dangerous and decided he would need to dodge them.

• Madara Uchiha taunted the Five Kage and demanded that they leave him alone with Might Guy.
• Might Guy opened the Gate of Death, despite Kakashi and Tsunade warning that he would die.
• Guy struck Madara with the first step of the Evening Elephant, driving him into a deep crater.
• Guy began the second step, but severe pain throughout his body made his attack falter.
• Madara realized Guy was striking the air to create powerful blows and concluded that he should dodge them.

Might Guy pushed Madara with a series of Evening Elephant strikes, but Madara endured them and eagerly urged him to continue. As Guy prepared his final attack, Madara acknowledged him as the first person to fight him so long with taijutsu alone.

• Might Guy struck Madara with four rapid Evening Elephant steps, while the Akatsuki debated why Madara was taking the attacks without fighting back.
• Might Guy drove his fifth strike into Madara's waist and sent him flying hundreds of meters.
• Madara rose, wiped the blood from his mouth, and praised Guy's strength as he asked him to keep fighting.
• Guy, badly hurt and unable to defeat Madara with Evening Elephant, decided to use Night Guy.
• Guy released red steam in the shape of a dragon, and Madara recognized it as Guy's final strike before declaring that he acknowledged him.

Might Guy struck Madara with Night Guy but failed to kill him, and Madara began casting Infinite Tsukuyomi. Just as the Kage feared the world was lost, Uchiha Xia Yu arrived with ten thousand descendants.

• Might Guy unleashed Night Guy and struck Madara, badly injuring him but leaving him alive.
• Madara sent a Truth-Seeking Orb toward the dying Might Guy, and Kakashi's Earth-Style Wall vanished when the orb touched it.
• Madara revealed his third eye and activated Infinite Tsukuyomi by reflecting it off the moon.
• Ōnoki, Rasa, and Mei Terumi reacted in alarm, but Tsunade told Mei Terumi that Xia Yu was coming.

Madara Uchiha learned that Xia Yu had fathered thousands of Uchiha children and helped the clan flourish, and Obito assured him that Xia Yu was aligned with Akatsuki. Madara invited Xia Yu to join his dream world, then activated Infinite Tsukuyomi.

• Madara Uchiha was stunned by the crowd of Uchiha children and questioned how the clan had grown so large.
• Obito explained that the children were all Xia Yu's, and that Xia Yu had married women across Konoha and beyond, including Tsunade and Mei Terumi.
• Madara praised Xia Yu's success and asked Obito which side Xia Yu supported.
• Obito said Xia Yu was an unofficial Akatsuki member and described his strength as unfathomable.

Madara Uchiha cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi and trapped the Allied Shinobi Forces in dreams while giant trees wrapped their bodies. Xia Yu copied Obito Uchiha’s Kamui and hid in its dimension, then a black hand pierced Madara’s chest as he prepared to enter the dream world.

• Madara Uchiha activated the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and the moon’s light spread across the battlefield as the Five Kage tried to protect those nearby.
• Madara used Divine Advent of a World of Flowering Trees, and vines wrapped the Allied Shinobi Forces in white cloth as they fell into ideal dreams.
• Orochimaru asked Xia Yu how he would protect the children, and Xia Yu said he had no way before promising to return after handling something.
• Xia Yu copied Obito Uchiha’s Kamui and entered the Kamui Dimension to escape the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Madara declared himself the world’s savior and prepared to enter the dream world, but a black hand pierced through his chest and told him he was wrong.

Black Zetsu resurrected Kaguya Ōtsutsuki through Madara, but Uchiha Xia Yu appeared unaffected by the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Xia Yu asked Kaguya to marry him, and she accepted, leaving Black Zetsu stunned.

• Black Zetsu took control of Madara and used Assimilation to revive his mother, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
• Kaguya said she sensed powerful chakra outside their control, and Black Zetsu discovered Xia Yu emerging from a vortex.
• Black Zetsu realized Xia Yu could use Kamui and had escaped the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Xia Yu directly asked Kaguya to be his wife, while Black Zetsu demanded that she kill him.
• Kaguya blushed and accepted Xia Yu's confession, leaving Black Zetsu protesting that he had not revived her so she could find him a father.
