A great battle erupted between the two Dragon Sovereigns, Azhdaha and Apep, deep in the Land of Lower Setekh. Fortunately, they had chosen a rarely visited part of the desert as their battlefield. Otherwise, the shock waves from a battle between two god-level Dragon Sovereigns would have been enough to destroy half of Sumeru.
That day, one strange phenomenon after another struck Sumeru's desert regions. Frequent earthquakes, sandstorms that filled the sky, tremendous booms, and dazzling elemental radiance drew the attention of everyone in Sumeru. People instinctively looked toward the Land of Lower Setekh, wondering what had happened deep in the desert.
Even people far away in the Rainforest could clearly feel the tremors. When some Akademiya students learned of this, excitement shone in their eyes, and they hurriedly packed their things, intending to investigate the desert.
