Background / History

Blue Star and the Second Shinobi World War

Yucheng originally lived on Blue Star as an overweight shut-in familiar with Naruto and Genshin Impact. After being struck by a truck, he transmigrated into the Naruto world as an ordinary Uchiha Clan member. His expectations of exploiting his knowledge collapsed when he graduated from the Ninja Academy during the Second Shinobi World War and was sent to the battlefield 1.

He was fatally wounded in the war, awakening his Two-Tomoe Sharingan in despair. His next awakening took place at Bubu Pharmacy in Teyvat, where Qiqi had brought him after finding him gravely injured in Chaiqiao Valley. He concealed his origins by claiming to remember only his name 1 2.

Establishing a Life in Liyue

After half a month of treatment, Yucheng owed Baizhu 100,000 Mora. He chose to repay the debt by gathering herbs, demonstrating his agility to convince Baizhu that he could safely undertake mountain work. Because he knew little about medicinal plants, Qiqi became his guide 2.

Their expedition to Jueyun Karst brought him into contact with Ganyu. Learning that she had worked for millennia without pay or meaningful rest, he persuaded her that fixed hours, holidays, and a private life would not violate her contract with Rex Lapis 6 7.

On the return journey, he sought out Xiao at Wangshu Inn. He revealed Bosacius’s death and recited his final words, but withheld the location until Xiao’s karmic debt could be suppressed. He recommended seeking the Anemo Archon’s help in Mondstadt, with ancient adeptal wine as an incentive 10 11.

Yucheng repaid his debt with 100 Qingxin flowers and 40 Violetgrass plants, then sold the surplus for 120,000 Mora. Baizhu hired him as the pharmacy’s exclusive herb gatherer, supplying a regular fee and accommodation 13.

Shenhe and the Adepti

Yucheng encountered Shenhe at her abandoned childhood village and gained her initial trust by offering food and invoking his friendship with Ganyu. Hoping to help her function without her red cords, he proposed using illusions to practice emotional control. Recreating her childhood abandonment instead triggered a violent rampage 16 17 18.

He survived for over half an hour through evasion, substitution, and clones until Shenhe regained control. Both apologized afterward. He subsequently arranged lodging for her and enlisted her help in retrieving an enormous Mingxia Floating Life Stone, which they placed in the Feiyun Commerce Guild’s safekeeping 18 20 21 22.

Yucheng identified Zhongli as Rex Lapis and obtained confirmation that Shenhe’s baleful aura came from the resentment of fallen gods. His proposal to seek Barbatos’s assistance developed into an official Liyue delegation to Mondstadt, led by Moon Carver and secretly including Xiao 26 28.

In recognition of his help, Zhongli granted him the former abode of the Sea of Clouds, Sea of Moonlight Adeptus. The other adepti repaired its mechanisms and furnished it. Yucheng used the dwelling for ninjutsu practice while continuing to gather herbs with Qiqi 28.

Investigation by Yelan and Ningguang

Yelan ambushed Yucheng while investigating his origins. His claim to be a ninja from “Konoha in Inazuma” failed to explain why he had been found far inland. He turned the confrontation around, restrained her, removed her Vision and bracelet, and rendered her unconscious with genjutsu 29 30.

He then used photographs as leverage against retaliation and offered information about her ancestors, Boyang and Rongzhao. Concerned that her invitation to the Jade Chamber might be a trap, he sent a shadow clone to meet Ningguang instead of attending personally 31 32.

His knowledge of Inazuma’s twin Electro Archons impressed Ningguang, but his repeated contact with Liyue’s adepti remained suspicious. After their questioning, she apologized while continuing to examine his information. Yucheng later confirmed Tartaglia’s arrival at the docks in disguise, reassuring himself that events had not diverged too far from his expectations 32 34 35.

Liyue’s Crisis

Through Xiangling, Yucheng became acquainted with Lumine and Paimon and escorted them to the Rite of Descension. Following Rex Lapis’s apparent murder, they escaped the Millelith with Tartaglia’s help. At Northland Bank, Yucheng exposed Tartaglia’s Sigil of Permission as a counterfeit, provoking an investigation into his background 37 38 39.

Ningguang subsequently sought his assistance. When she also offered to buy his Kamera, he demanded the Jade Chamber in exchange. He later joined preparations for the Rite of Parting while keeping Zhongli’s identity secret 39 41.

Before the Golden House confrontation, Yucheng revealed chakra to Zhongli while asking for a fake Pyro Vision. Zhongli initially suspected forbidden knowledge, but analyzed the energy and successfully produced chakra himself. Yucheng had chosen to share it because he believed Zhongli remained committed to protecting and strengthening Liyue despite retiring 43 44.

At the Golden House, Yucheng warned Lumine about Tartaglia’s close-range prowess, Electro abilities, and Foul Legacy transformation. He later rescued her and fought alongside her, combining Fire Release with her Anemo 45 46.

Against Osial, Yucheng equipped the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and severed three of the god’s heads with Susanoo. The strike emptied his chakra reserves, leaving him unable to continue. Ganyu’s blood restored him from the brink of unconsciousness, while Ningguang and the adepti ultimately used the Jade Chamber to suppress Osial 48.

Aftermath

Ningguang credited Yucheng’s intelligence with limiting Liyue’s losses. Afterward, he considered the system’s increasingly demanding objectives, finding the prospect of having ten children more appealing than becoming Teyvat’s richest or strongest person or unifying its nations 49 50.

Yelan recovered the photographic negatives and discovered that they showed her fully clothed in awkward poses rather than anything explicit. She agreed to end their dispute and asked him to fulfill his promise to explain her ancestor’s fate 50.

Appearance

  • Eyes: Normally black; turn scarlet when the Sharingan activates, with three symmetrically arranged tomoe at its Three-Tomoe stage 18.
  • Bearing: Activating the Sharingan noticeably changes his presence, giving him an intimidating aura 18.
  • Vision disguise: A Pyro Vision is visible at his waist during the Golden House battle, following his request for a replica to conceal the source of his fire techniques 43 46.

Personality

Yucheng is cautious about exposing advantages that could attract powerful enemies. He initially hides ninjutsu because he fears Snezhnaya would seize his chakra-refinement technique, uses a shadow clone for a potentially dangerous meeting, and worries that his actions might alter events he knows from the game 2 32 35.

His concern for others is often practical. He extinguishes a campfire when Qiqi shows fear, encourages Ganyu to stop overworking, and refuses to let Shenhe sleep outdoors when he can arrange an inn. When his illusion harms Shenhe, he acknowledges that he pushed too far 5 7 18 20.

His compassion coexists with a ruthless ninja outlook. He has killed before, attacks enemies at vulnerable points, loots defeated Treasure Hoarders, and uses blackmail to protect himself from Yelan. He explicitly treats effectiveness, rather than honorable methods, as a ninja’s priority 9 15 31.

He is also opportunistic, irreverent, and openly attracted to women. He pursues profitable discoveries and valuable system rewards, envies the Jade Chamber, and enjoys Ganyu’s attention after the battle. His excitement over the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan briefly overrides his judgment, nearly killing him through chakra exhaustion 15 28 32 48.

Abilities & Skills

Chakra Refinement

Yucheng produces chakra by combining physical and spiritual energy. In Teyvat, his Fire Release converts that chakra into Pyro without requiring a Vision 43.

  • Training: Listed at intermediate proficiency in his initial system profile. He later develops his reserves by exhausting his chakra nightly and meditating afterward 3 29.
  • Mobility: Channels chakra through his feet to climb cliffs, stand on walls, walk on water, and hang upside down 2 4 45.
  • Transfer: Can channel chakra into another person, allowing Zhongli to examine it directly 43.
  • Limit: His reserves are insufficient to sustain the power unlocked by his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan 48.

Sharingan and Genjutsu

The Sharingan is an ocular ability associated with his Uchiha bloodline. His system initially lists genjutsu at intermediate proficiency 3 18.

  • Perception: Locates the source of the elemental disturbance surrounding Xiao even while the adeptus remains out of ordinary sight 10.
  • Illusions: Recreates Shenhe’s childhood cave to test her emotional control 17 18.
  • Incapacitation: Renders the restrained Yelan unconscious through eye contact 30.
  • Limit: Ending an illusion does not necessarily end its emotional consequences; Shenhe’s rampage continues after he dispels the genjutsu 18.

Susanoo

After equipping the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Yucheng manifests a purple warrior that develops from ribs and a skeleton into a flesh-covered, armored form dozens of meters tall 48.

  • Weapon: Wields a sword capable of projecting a vast wave of chakra sword energy 48.
  • Recorded feat: Severs three of Osial’s nine necks and splits the sea behind him with one slash 48.
  • Limit: One strike from the third-stage form consumes all of Yucheng’s chakra, causing the construct to collapse and leaving him unable to fight 48.

Fire Release

Fire Release is listed at intermediate proficiency in his initial profile 3.

  • Great Fireball Technique: Breathes an enormous fireball; used to destroy a group of Hilichurls and demonstrate chakra conversion to Zhongli 15 43.
  • Phoenix Flower Fire Claw Crimson: Launches small fireballs concealing spinning throwing stars, combining heat with physical impact 46.
  • Cooperative attacks: Coordinates a Great Fireball with Lumine’s Anemo during their battle against Tartaglia 46.

Clone, Transformation, and Substitution Techniques

His initial system profile lists the Three Body Technique at intermediate proficiency 3.

  • Substitution Technique: Exchanges his position with a nearby inanimate object; uses a log to escape a potentially fatal thrust from Shenhe. Its casting conditions impose restrictions 18.
  • Clone Technique: Creates intangible duplicates to distract Shenhe 18.
  • Shadow Clone Technique: Creates tangible, independently conscious duplicates whose gathered information returns when they disappear. At the time of his Jade Chamber visit, he can safely create no more than two 32.
  • Transformation Technique: Disguises himself as an ordinary passerby to observe Tartaglia’s arrival 35.

Physical and Practical Skills

  • Taijutsu and throwing: Both initially rated intermediate; he catches a Hilichurl’s projectile and throws it back into the shooter’s forehead 3 6.
  • Agility: Demonstrates safe high drops and rapid jumping to Baizhu, later relying on mobility to survive Shenhe’s attacks 2 18.
  • Herb gathering: Learns under Qiqi and becomes Bubu Pharmacy’s exclusive gatherer 2 13.
  • Soft Exercise: Receives instruction from Qiqi during their expedition 5.
  • Prior-world knowledge: Recognizes Teyvat’s inhabitants, concealed identities, historical events, and combat abilities, though he cannot reliably predict timing or prevent changes caused by his involvement 1 26 35 45.
  • Travel restrictions: Cannot use Teleport Waypoints; touching Qingyun Peak’s Statue of the Seven grants him no Geo power 3 4 15.
