Without wasting any time, the three entered the Tokyo No. 2 Colony.
The instant he stepped into the barrier, Yue Liusi found himself in midair and rapidly plummeted toward the ground.
Once again, he was landing without a parachute.
Had he been his former self, he could only have told Mother Earth, "Sorry I couldn't give you a satisfying fight," but naturally, that was no longer the case.
The next second, Yue Liusi vanished. When he reappeared, he was already beside Shoko.
Shoko had not panicked as she fell. After all, doctors had cursed energy too, and her reinforced body was enough to handle it.
But she was still a little surprised when Yue Liusi suddenly appeared.
Letting him hold her in his arms, Shoko asked curiously,
"You left a technique mark on me?"
They had spent quite some time together, so Shoko naturally understood the principles behind Yue Liusi's movement technique. The two had even tried to unravel it through jujutsu, though they had not succeeded.
But however powerful this technique was, it still needed a mark.
How come she hadn't known there was a technique mark on her?
Yue Liusi had not given her any marked item, either.
Come to think of it, she felt that Yue Liusi's long-distance movement technique was somewhat like something from a manga she had read.
And there were those peculiar eyes, too.
She had even looked into it, but the techniques Yue Liusi possessed differed considerably from those abilities.
The patterns in his eyes, the forms his abilities took, and the ways he used them, for instance, were all rather different.
So she had ruled that out.
As a result, she had also wondered whether Yue Liusi's innate technique was something like "imaginary reality," but he had denied it himself.
Yue Liusi had even said that his movement technique really was called the "Flying Thunder God Technique." She had merely taken it as a child's fondness for manga.
Shoko's curiosity about Yue Liusi only grew stronger with time.
And apart from her, the others knew practically nothing about either Yue Liusi's abilities or his identity and past.
After all, he had never revealed his technique, or even mentioned its name.
That was just how mysterious he was.
In truth, given the unspoken understanding between her and Yue Liusi, she could simply have asked him.
Yue Liusi probably would not have hidden anything, either. Shoko knew that, but she did not want to do it.
She wanted to explore it slowly herself.
And Yue Liusi enjoyed that just as much.
She could feel it.
He enjoyed her curiosity about him.
"It's a secret."
Yue Liusi chuckled and brought Shoko back to the ground, then prepared to meet up with Yuki Tsukumo.
After he left, something suddenly occurred to Shoko. Her slightly furrowed brow relaxed, and she looked down at her chest, shaking her head somewhat helplessly as she murmured,
"A secret... You're just like a child."
There, a pendant shone with a faint silvery-white light.
A short while later, Yue Liusi used the Flying Thunder God Technique to bring the two back.
"Come on, what exactly are you planning?"
After landing, Yuki Tsukumo looked at Yue Liusi with her arms crossed and asked impatiently.
"You'll find out in a moment."
Yue Liusi kept her in suspense, then continued,
"But before that, we need to find a few helpers."
With a casual beckoning gesture, three white figures suddenly appeared before the four of them. They were the White Zetsu given to him by the system.
The White Zetsu's strange appearance drew their attention, and their eerie inhuman quality made Shoko frown. But before they could do anything, several streams of chakra pinned them directly to the ground.
Then Yue Liusi began preparing the ritual for the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu.
Although the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu was an S-rank forbidden technique, it was considerably less difficult than the Flying Thunder God Technique.
It merely required a few prerequisites.
It had only received that ranking because its effects defied the natural order, and because toying with the souls of the dead violated human ethics.
Yue Liusi felt little psychological burden over it. He was not Uchiha Yue in the first place, much less a normal ninja.
Soon, as he successfully established a connection with the souls through the dead people's bodily tissue, the black technique markings surrounding the White Zetsu rapidly spread.
Three shapeless souls floated above the White Zetsu, looking to Yue Liusi like three balls of ghostly fire from the underworld.
"What is he doing...?"
Yuki Tsukumo truly could not quite understand the scene before her. In all honesty, she did not understand any of Yue Liusi's various abilities, and even now, she still did not know what his technique actually was.
Yue Liusi had never done anything like revealing his technique.
From what she knew alone, Yue Liusi had already displayed four or five almost entirely different special abilities.
And at that moment, Yue Liusi began activating the technique.
"Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu!"
As the technique activated, three coffins rose from the ground. Their lids fell, revealing three figures standing silently before the group.
Jogo! Suguru Geto! Toji Fushiguro!
At the sight of those three figures, Yuki Tsukumo's pupils involuntarily contracted.
Shoko's gaze also abruptly settled on the familiar figure in the middle.
Was that... Suguru Geto?
Her gaze flickered slightly.
Had this created an unconscious puppet, or...
Looking at the results of his work, Yue Liusi nodded slightly in understanding.
"So it works on cursed spirits too... They have life and souls. That makes sense."
Now that it had been adapted to him, the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu could even reincarnate cursed spirits.
He had obtained Jogo's and Toji Fushiguro's tissue during the battle in Shibuya.
As for Suguru Geto's, he had obtained it with the Ame-no-Murakumo Sword while fighting Kenjaku at the very end.
By then, the three reincarnated figures had opened their eyes.
"Where is this...?"
Jogo looked around, feeling somewhat surprised.
Hadn't it been about to head to the wilderness a hundred years in the future?
"What an extraordinary technique..."
Suguru Geto looked at the hands before him and felt the state of his body, unable to keep himself from voicing his admiration.
Then he raised his eyes toward Yue Liusi.
Through that subtle trace of control over his soul, he knew this was the person who had brought him back in this unusual way.
Then what was his purpose?
"Again?"
Toji Fushiguro, meanwhile, seemed much more accustomed to it.
Still, he was somewhat puzzled. Hadn't it only been a few days since the last time?
Why had he been brought back again?
The difference was that he had been unable to maintain his own consciousness last time, whereas this time was much better.
Jogo stepped out of the coffin and spoke first.
"So it's you."
Naturally, it would not forget Yue Liusi. After all, Dagon had died at his hands.
"We probably all know what you want, but I won't let you have your way so easily."
Jogo knew Yue Liusi could forcibly control it, but it still could not swallow its anger.
"I want you to fight me fair and square!"
Previously, Yue Liusi had escaped directly using his technique, leaving it unable to avenge Dagon.
There was no possibility of taking revenge now, but it still wanted to defeat Yue Liusi. Only then could it feel at ease.
In Jogo's view, Yue Liusi was about as strong as it was, or even a little weaker. So little time had passed that his strength probably had not changed much.
