Power Progression

Yue Liusi’s official sorcerer titles do not always reflect his combat strength. He deliberately requests particular ranks to satisfy the Hokage System’s advancement missions 4 12.

Appearance

• Youthful appearance: Mai and Nobara consider him close to the students’ age, although he states that he is older than Yuji and the others. No exact age is established 17 25 27.
• Attractive features: Yuki finds him good-looking, while Nobara insists that letting his appearance go to waste through poor clothing choices is unacceptable 21 25.
• Lean but sturdy build: Yuki describes him as somewhat skinny compared with Aoi Todo, but physically robust 21.
• Scarlet eyes: His activated Sharingan produces conspicuous blood-red eyes; Shoko finds them unsettling at their first meeting 5.

Personality

Yue Liusi initially prioritizes survival and system missions. He avoids stronger opponents when victory is uncertain, treating Flying Thunder God as an escape option rather than a reason to challenge Sukuna prematurely. Once he has an advantage, he prefers decisive action over prolonged conversation 2 4 15.

His confidence is accompanied by calculation and irreverence. Yaga describes him as “as calculating as Geto, yet as unruly as Satoru,” while Sukuna recognizes arrogance beneath his calm composure. He also actively seeks difficult fights when they offer a controlled opportunity to improve, using Toji as a whetstone rather than retreating 4 9 16.

He is openly partial to his companions. His early concern for Shoko’s feelings develops into genuine attachment to her and the students, eventually ending his sense of being an outside spectator. Despite favoring drastic action against the Higher-Ups, he hesitates over the suffering that dismantling their organization might cause 23 26 27.

His protectiveness does not make him gentle toward enemies. He kills hostile sorcerers without hesitation and uses near-death intimidation to secure Uro’s obedience. Conversely, he respects the wishes of his reincarnated fighters rather than immediately forcing them into compliance 24 43 49.

History

Arrival and the Shibuya Incident

Yue Liusi transmigrates into a Shibuya subway station during a curse attack. Initially expecting a shinobi setting because of his Hokage System, he recognizes Yuji Itadori, Mei Mei, and Ui Ui and realizes he has arrived during the Shibuya Incident. Mei Mei initially judges him barely Grade 3, but his rapidly acquired techniques soon exceed that assessment 1 2.

He seeks official registration from Yaga to advance his system missions, then returns to Shibuya. He kills Liban Erlang, warns Megumi that Sukuna is interested in him, and intervenes in the battle against Dagon. Fighting Toji inside Dagon’s domain leads him to develop Lava Release Chakra Mode; he subsequently pursues and kills Dagon 4 5 8 10 12.

After revealing Kenjaku’s identity and Gojo’s imprisonment to Shoko, he offers to bring Gojo back in exchange for instruction in Reverse Cursed Technique. He also tries to prevent Sukuna’s awakening by removing Yuji from immediate danger. The attempt fails when Yuji returns to save Megumi and accepts Sukuna’s intervention, prompting Yue Liusi to wonder whether fate is correcting his changes 12 13 14.

He saves Nobara from Mahito and nearly defeats Mahito with soul-damaging attacks and Black Flash. Kenjaku intervenes, survives Yue Liusi’s attacks, and proceeds with his broader plan after extracting Mahito’s technique 18 19 20 21.

Conflict with the Higher-Ups

After Shibuya, Yue Liusi remains in Tokyo, renting apartments beside Shoko while learning Reverse Cursed Technique and supporting survivor rescues. The Higher-Ups’ purge of Gojo’s allies brings him into direct conflict with the authorities 22 23.

He stops Yaga’s execution and receives a death sentence of his own. Although he initially favors uprooting the corrupt leadership, he worries about destabilizing jujutsu society during the Culling Game. Shoko’s reassurance helps him accept both his responsibility and his companions’ support 24 25 26.

An assassination attempt against Shoko ends his restraint. After eliminating the attackers, he advances on Jujutsu Headquarters, having promised her to execute only the ringleaders. He defeats the defending sorcerers and kills the Higher-Ups; the system then completes his Kage-level mission 27 28 29 30.

Yuta confronts him afterward, but their battle also serves to test Yin Nine-Tails and provide a public resolution to the confrontation. Yuta privately worries about injuring him, while Yue Liusi remains conscious of Yuta’s safety 31 32 33.

Soul Research and the Culling Game

Following Shoko’s birthday celebration, Yue Liusi consults Tengen about the Zenin twins. He rescues Mai from her near-death state and develops a barrier that allows her to live without reversing Maki’s completed Heavenly Restriction. The experiment produces demon eyes power and opens a path toward learning Construction Technique 34 35 37 38 47.

Inside Tokyo No. 2 Colony, he reincarnates Jogo, Geto, and Toji, then establishes his superiority over them. He orders an end to killing, directs sorcerers to protect civilians, and designates Kabukiza Theatre and Tokyo Skytree as gathering points 40 41 43.

In Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Higuruma’s Judgeman initially treats him as a newborn and finds him not guilty. Even after a binding vow allows Higuruma to confiscate one technique, Yue Liusi continues fighting with his remaining abilities and gains Higuruma’s assistance 45.

He later recruits Uro in Sendai, attacks Dhruv, kills Kurourushi, and defeats Ryu. Returning to Tokyo No. 2 Colony, he evacuates the gathered survivors with Flying Thunder God and spends 200 points on rules that reveal player locations and mark players according to morality and law 49 50.

Relationships

• Shoko Ieiri — Teacher and close companion. Their initial exchange of information and instruction develops into mutual trust, shared domestic time, and emotional support. She explicitly calls them friends; no formal romantic label is established 12 22 26 34 42.
• Yuji Itadori — Companion whom he initially berates for a system mission, then rescues and guides away from seeing himself only as an expendable vessel. They agree to fight cursed spirits together 5 13 17.
