Later, he had been controlled by Obito Uchiha!
He had been controlled for over a decade from start to finish. Over a decade!
For him, a tailed beast, this was an indelible humiliation!
So when he saw Matatabi shrink herself with the Special Transformation Technique and lie meekly in Otsutsuki Toneri's arms, he could not stop himself from mocking her.
"Hmm?" At those words, Otsutsuki Toneri gave a faint, ambiguous smile, his pure, flawless Tenseigan flickering slightly.
Without warning, an utterly savage, invisible, colorless repulsive force surged out and slammed into Isobu.
Isobu grunted, his enormous body driven back more than ten meters by the repulsive force before he barely steadied himself.
"Isobu, we haven't seen each other in decades. I never thought you'd become such a chatterbox," Matatabi mocked with a soft laugh at the sight.
She had indeed chosen to follow Otsutsuki Toneri, but she had merely made the decision she believed was right.
Was Otsutsuki Toneri, who possessed the Rinnegan, an ordinary person?
Besides, his surname was Otsutsuki. He was a direct descendant of the Sage of Six Paths' younger brother!
"You do have some ability. Get to the point. What exactly have you come here for today?" Isobu stared straight at Otsutsuki Toneri for a while before speaking flatly.
This human was clearly only a child, yet his abilities were so bizarre. And then there was Matatabi.
Thinking about it now, there had to be a special reason she was willing to abandon her dignity and follow this human.
Isobu could not be bothered to trade riddles with them, either. He was the quiet type to begin with, and unless it was necessary,
he would rather return to the bottom of the lake and keep sleeping.
"It's nothing terribly important. Could you return to Kirigakure? Believe me, Kirigakure will treat you well." Otsutsuki Toneri smiled at his words, then spoke calmly.
Isobu was different from the tailed beasts he had encountered before. He needed to make use of him, not merely obtain an inconsequential portion of his chakra.
So Otsutsuki Toneri had never intended to talk things through nicely in the first place.
"Matatabi, is this what you want too?" A flash of brutality passed through Isobu's eyes at those words. Then he looked at Matatabi and asked in a deep voice.
Return to Kirigakure? Not a chance!
He had finally gained his freedom. How could he possibly agree to go back and be imprisoned?
Upon hearing Otsutsuki Toneri's words, he had immediately wanted to lash out, but he still wanted to ask what Matatabi thought.
Matatabi was a tailed beast, one of them. Could she truly have betrayed them and been tamed by this human?
"...Isobu, take my advice. Toneri won't mistreat us. Even if Toneri hadn't come today, once word got out that you were staying here, other humans would come looking for you sooner or later. It's been decades. Do you still not understand?"
Matatabi fell silent for a moment before trying to persuade Isobu.
After spending a few days together, she had roughly figured out Otsutsuki Toneri's personality. Although he treated people gently on the surface, the ruthlessness and indifference in his bones far exceeded those of ordinary people.
At the same time, however, he placed considerable importance on personal bonds. As long as someone treated him with genuine kindness, he would return that goodwill.
Matatabi believed that as long as Isobu cooperated, Toneri would not make things difficult for him, nor would he let Kirigakure do so.
It was only a matter of protecting Kirigakure. That was not particularly difficult for Isobu.
After spending decades trapped inside a jinchūriki, Matatabi had now come to terms with things. Freedom was what they, the tailed beasts, needed most!
No matter how strong they were, even stronger humans would appear to subdue and enslave them. Why insist on being so stubborn?
"Fine, fine, fine. Matatabi, I always thought you were the smartest and calmest among us, but now this is the answer you give us?"
Isobu laughed in his fury. Although his voice remained deep and resonant, even Mei Terumi and the others on the shore could hear the anger in his tone.
"You're the one who doesn't understand! Matatabi, we are tailed beasts! We have minds of our own! Matatabi, have you ever thought about how humans have treated us all these decades?"
"Genjutsu, seals-they disregard our will completely, driving us, controlling us, abusing our power however they please. They pen us up and treat us like livestock!"
Isobu's deep voice roared across the lake. He would not forgive them. He hated humans.
Just like Shukaku, just like Kurama. But compared with those two, his hatred ran deeper.
More than a decade under genjutsu control had left him with far more hatred than the other tailed beasts!
As Otsutsuki Toneri listened to that roaring voice, the smile on his face slowly faded. Isobu's words were, in fact, not wrong at all.
"Isobu, that's all in the past. We should have a new future of our own. If we don't change, we have no future to speak of." After a long silence, Matatabi spoke, a trace of weariness in her voice.
How could she not understand Isobu's words? Had she not gone through the same thing herself?
She had simply chosen to change. She had chosen Otsutsuki Toneri. She firmly believed.
Otsutsuki Toneri, who possessed the Rinnegan, would change this world. And she would ask Otsutsuki Toneri to treat the tailed beasts kindly.
To stop treating the tailed beasts as nothing but weapons of war!
That was the thought she had formed after seeing Otsutsuki Toneri's Rinnegan.
They, the tailed beasts, had minds and intelligence of their own. They were not mere livestock!

Chapter 65: Absurdly strong~ Fifth update!
"Hmph! Save those words for the fox and the others. If you want me to return to Kirigakure, show me you have the strength!" Isobu snorted coldly at her words, his eyes slowly filling with savage brutality.
There was no point talking when they could not agree. In his view, Matatabi had already been completely brainwashed by humans!
How could those despicable, hateful, shameless humans be trusted?
"So it comes down to a fight after all. Don't worry. For your sake, I won't hit him too hard." Otsutsuki Toneri shook his head slightly at this. Noticing Matatabi's faintly worried gaze, he spoke with a soft laugh.
Isobu's words just now had indeed stirred quite a few feelings in him.
What were humans? Beings filled with desire!
The existence of tailed beasts had allowed humans to discover their value as something to exploit.
The tailed beasts were not at fault, while humans were themselves collections of desires. Greed and plunder were the nature of most people.
Otsutsuki Toneri himself had his own ambitions and aspirations. Humans truly free of worldly desires were far, far too rare.
But the strong preying on the weak was itself one of nature's laws.
Isobu's stubbornness was quite normal, too. His once peaceful life had been shattered by humans, and he had even become their tool,
so it was only natural for him to hate humans. Otsutsuki Toneri could understand, but understanding was one thing. When he needed to make use of them,
Otsutsuki Toneri would not show mercy, either. Using and being used was itself a law of nature.
A person's value was inherently tied to the meaning of their existence.
At Otsutsuki Toneri's words, a trace of relief appeared in Matatabi's feline eyes.
She certainly did not think Isobu could contend with Otsutsuki Toneri, who possessed the Rinnegan.
The Rinnegan was itself one of the tailed beasts' natural counters!
"Save your boasting until after you've won!" Isobu replied in a deep voice, mobilizing his immense tailed beast chakra.
An enormous wave that blotted out the sky and sun surged up before Isobu and swept toward Otsutsuki Toneri.
Isobu: Isobu Great Waterfall!
Its terrifying power left even Mei Terumi and the others on the shore somewhat speechless. It was simply too enormous.
It was far more than just several times larger than the Great Waterfall Technique!
"It looks fairly impressive, but its power is rather lacking." Otsutsuki Toneri calmly assessed the enormous wave that obscured the sky.
The tailed beasts possessed such immense chakra that their techniques were generally far more powerful than those of ordinary people.
Otsutsuki Toneri raised his right hand, a faint golden light coiling around it, then swung it down.
A golden beam shot across the air, cleaving the enormous wave cleanly in two.
The wave's advance came to an abrupt halt, but at the same time, a gigantic sphere of water followed close behind, hurtling toward Otsutsuki Toneri.
"Ninjutsu is useless against me!" Otsutsuki Toneri chuckled, scarlet light flickering from the Rinnegan in his palm.
The incoming Iron Cannonball was instantly absorbed by the Rinnegan.
"The Rinnegan!" Seeing the red eye in Otsutsuki Toneri's palm, Isobu's eyes suddenly widened, and he cried out in disbelief.
Only then did he understand why Matatabi had abandoned a tailed beast's dignity and pride to follow Otsutsuki Toneri.
The Rinnegan! That was a power only the Sage of Six Paths possessed!
"Only noticing now? It's already too late." Otsutsuki Toneri's lips curled as a pitch-black sphere of energy formed in his right palm.
The black sphere slowly flew high into the sky, obscuring the sun. An immense gravitational pull emanated from it, and its target was none other than Isobu!
Planetary Devastation!
Under that immense gravitational pull, earth, trees, and lake water were all drawn toward the black sphere, flying up and clinging tightly to it.
"Damn it! Why? I refuse to be sealed again!" Even Isobu's enormous body could not escape. Slowly drawn up by the incredibly powerful gravity, he flew toward the black sphere.
He roared incessantly, firing Iron Cannonballs at the black sphere one after another, but they had no effect.
He could not accept it. Why? Why did he have to return to those days of being controlled by humans?
"A futile struggle. My Planetary Devastation isn't so easily shattered." Otsutsuki Toneri offered a flat taunt at the sight. The Planetary Devastation he had created
was not something Isobu alone could bring down. Otherwise, he would hardly be worthy of this Rinnegan!
Soon, Isobu was pulled high into the air by Planetary Devastation's immense gravity, and enormous rocks gradually covered his gigantic body.
Once Isobu was completely covered, Planetary Devastation was fully formed. An enormous sphere of stone floated silently in midair.
"The power of a god?" Mei Terumi stared dumbstruck at the enormous stone sphere that had sealed Isobu so effortlessly, then turned her beautiful eyes toward the small figure floating in the air.
This boy was no longer merely as strong as a monster. His strength was practically divine!
He had sealed Isobu with a single move. This...
Mei Terumi did not even know what words to use to describe how she felt at that moment. Planetary Devastation was simply too overwhelming!
Seeing no sign of Isobu breaking free, Otsutsuki Toneri slowly flew over and landed before Mei Terumi and the others.
