The strange little girl only made Jian Ran pause for a moment before he continued down the corridor past the wards.
He wanted to find 108, then ask about Yun Ying's whereabouts. After all, he had just found a lead and wanted to break it off here.
As Jian Ran passed several wards, it suddenly occurred to him that wearing a white coat would make infiltrating enemy ranks difficult. He pivoted on his toes, slipped into an open room, and swiped a set of patient clothes to put on.
They were a little small, leaving his wrists and ankles exposed, but at least they could pass as a disguise.
Once he had changed, Jian Ran walked toward the lobby with an air of composure. He had planned to walk straight through, but spotted several patients sitting together, whispering.
His curiosity was instantly piqued...
Jian Ran quietly approached and heard a voice putting on a mysterious air.
"Have you heard the ghost story about this hospital?"
"No, no! Building Manager, hurry up and tell us! So exciting, so exciting!"
"Patients disappear every night. Do you know where they go?"
"No! Do we have patients going missing? The numbers are all consecutive at roll call every day!"
"Idiot! Just because the number's still there doesn't mean it's still the same person! There's a man-eating ghost in this hospital! People get taken away every day!"
One patient scratched his head. "I don't quite get it. Is the hospital raising this ghost? Why would they cover for it?"
"Are you mentally ill?! How can you not understand something like this?! Obviously, the hospital's afraid of being held responsible! Relations between doctors and patients are so tense these days!"
"Are they? I think our hospital's pretty harmonious."
"Fuck, there's no telling this ghost story anymore.
