He might as well send them into the primeval forest to find a missing cat.

"Bad news, Lord Hokage. Bieshu Feifan and the other two, whom you sent out of the village, have returned.
I've already sent someone to hold them up."
Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes suddenly widened.
"They abandoned the mission?"
"No, they completed... well, it counts as completing the mission."
Hiruzen Sarutobi frowned.
"What happened? Tell me.
There was no way they could find the cat."
The Anbu sighed.
"Lord Hokage, they really didn't find the cat.
But they set fire to the mountain near the client's home.
Might Guy handled lighting the fire.
