Bieshu Feifan showed the Ino-Shika-Cho no courtesy at all.
All three clans were loyal supporters of Hiruzen Sarutobi.
They would never support Bieshu Feifan becoming Hokage, so offending them was no great loss.
Most importantly, though, Bieshu Feifan needed prestige.
Bieshu Feifan felt his reputation probably had not been very good before.
To become the Fourth, he needed enormous prestige.
Feeling as though an idiot had provoked him, Shikaku Nara was furious too.
He shot to his feet.
"Bieshu Feifan, you asked for this."
Seeing that Shikaku Nara really intended to duel Bieshu Feifan, Inoichi Yamanaka hurried to dissuade him.
"Shikaku, there's no need. Fight that thing, and you'll be a laughingstock whether you win or lose."
Chōza Akimichi also tugged at Shikaku Nara.
"Shikaku, don't stoop to his level."
On Bieshu Feifan's side, however, Might Guy was cheering him on.
"You've got this, Brother Feifan! From what I've observed, that Nara can't beat you."
Might Duy nodded too.
"But Feifan, don't hit him too hard. We're all from the same village.
"It'll make things awkward when you see each other later."
Shikaku Nara, who had already been talked down, heard Might Duy and Might Guy's voices,
and his fury flared as he sprang up again.
He pointed at Bieshu Feifan.
"Come here. Let's take this outside."
This time, Minato Namikaze also stepped in to mediate,
first looking at Bieshu Feifan.
"Feifan, calm down. Can't we talk this through?"
Then he looked at Shikaku Nara.
"Jōnin Shikaku, we're only discussing tactics. There's no need to make things unpleasant.
"Besides, you can't beat Feifan either."
Minato Namikaze had merely been telling the truth.
But that made Shikaku Nara completely explode.
He could tolerate people insulting him;
he could also tolerate people passing judgment on him;
even if someone called him stupid,
