History

Conflict with Spirit Hall and life in hiding

Tang Hao had a long-standing feud with Spirit Hall. During an earlier encirclement, he broke three of Ghost Douluo's ribs with one hammer blow. His attack on Qian Xunji also created the opportunity for Bibi Dong to devour Qian Xunji and begin her Rakshasa God Trial. Tang Hao subsequently ambushed Spirit Hall's Soul Masters, particularly its talented members, before disappearing from public view. The Clear Sky Sect publicly announced his expulsion 6 18.

He settled in Holy Soul Village with his child, initially called Tang San and later revealed to be his daughter, Tang Xiaosan. He kept the weakened Ah Yin in a cave fifty li northwest of the village, protected by three barriers 3 4 8.

Tang Hao instructed his child to protect the Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul without revealing the Clear Sky Hammer. His domestic conduct was far less protective: he ate the household's rice while leaving Tang Xiaosan its cooking water, claiming that the liquid was nutritious “rice oil” 3.

Loss of Ah Yin

While Tang Hao slept after celebrating his child's Twin Martial Souls with three bottles of liquor, Su Ling broke through the cave's barriers and absorbed Ah Yin into his Planet Martial Soul. Restored to hundred-thousand-year cultivation, Ah Yin accused Tang Hao of neglecting her, drunkenly vomiting on her, and deliberately taking her to Spirit City while pregnant to obtain her Soul Ring 4 5.

Tang Hao discovered both Ah Yin and the stored Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bone missing. He destroyed a mountain goat in the cave, searched the surrounding forest with his Soul Power, and slaughtered nearly all the nearby goats in his rage. The narration explicitly states that he grieved more for the Soul Bone than for Ah Yin 6.

Exposure, defeat, and capture

Tang Xiaosan later told Ah Yin that Tang Hao had abused her and made her handle every household responsibility from the age of four. He also drove her away whenever she asked about her mother. Their reunion was broadcast to the livestream's viewers, prompting condemnation of Tang Hao 14.

Su Ling accepted a system mission to beat Tang Hao and attacked him while he lay drunk in Holy Soul Village. Using his Planet Martial Soul and Blue Silver Emperor vines, Su Ling immobilized him and removed all six Soul Bones. Ah Yin then extracted her Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring. Su Ling left Tang Hao alive for Tang Xiaosan to deal with 15 17.

Shortly afterward, Ghost Douluo, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Azure Luan Douluo found him. Tang Hao attempted a hammer strike, but Azure Luan caught it one-handed and carried him away 18.

Blood God Inheritance and the Clear Sky Sect massacre

Tang Hao escaped confinement by draining three Soul Douluo guards. Qian Daoliu recognized the signs of an evil god's inheritance and ordered the six Enshrined to hunt him. Killing Tang Hao subsequently became the Angel God's ninth trial for Qian Daoliu 39 40.

In Slaughter City, Tang Hao joined Tang Chen and Tang Xiao under the Asura God, who ordered them to kill Su Ling and destroy Spirit Hall. Already a Level 98 Super Douluo with the Blood God Inheritance, Tang Hao sought stronger victims to reach Level 99 46.

With Tang Xiao's help, he approached the Clear Sky Sect's seven elders and killed six of them, absorbing their power. He allowed the Seventh Elder to escape, then marked the sect's disciples with the Blood God's blessing and ordered them into a lethal contest against Slaughter City's inhabitants. The resulting survivors formed an army that Tang Hao and Tang Chen intended to use to conquer the continent 46 56.

War and Divine Official transformation

During the war, Tang Hao fought the Rakshasa God disguised as Bibi Dong, who could not gain an advantage while restricted to Limit Douluo-level power. He insisted that his place in the Clear Sky Sect was justified by his loyalty to Tang Chen, despite the Seventh Elder's denunciation 60.

At Jialing Pass, the arrival of the real Bibi Dong and Su Ling's allies turned the battle against him. After the Ice Empress and Snow Empress weakened him with their fusion domain, the two Bibi Dongs severed his head as he attempted to flee. His head reattached, and he drew Tang Chen's fallen body toward himself 67.

Tang Hao devoured his ancestor and attained Divine Official strength. He survived Su Ling's Absolute Zero and a combined assault from the assembled Titled Douluos, then attempted to consume Bibi Dong. During the continuing battle, he asked Ah Yin and Tang Xiaosan to return to him; Ah Yin rejected him and declared Su Ling her only husband 68.

Appearance

  • After losing his Soul Bones and Soul Ring: Waxy-yellow complexion, irregular breathing, and extremely faint Soul Power fluctuations 18.
  • Divine Official form: Two heads, four pairs of blood-red wings, tentacles, and a body capable of opening into a large, blood-filled maw 68.
  • After the coalition's combined strike: His wings are riddled with holes, while Tang Chen's incorporated head hangs from his body, battered beyond recognition 68.

Personality

Tang Hao is neglectful and abusive toward his family, while presenting deprivation as paternal care. Tang Xiaosan spends years trying to earn his approval, but he continues to burden her with household work and refuses to answer questions about her mother 3 14.

His attachment to cultivation resources repeatedly outweighs his concern for others. He mourns the missing Soul Bone more intensely than Ah Yin, continues demanding its return in his sleep, and eventually treats his own sect's elders as material for his breakthrough 6 17 46.

After gaining divine power, he remains possessive of his former family. He acknowledges having treated Tang Xiaosan badly but blames Su Ling for drawing her away. His request to rebuild the family comes while he considers the opposing Soul Masters helpless prey 68.

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao's original Martial Soul is a powerful tool-type hammer 17 18.

  • Previously injured Ghost Douluo severely with a single blow 18.
  • Remains usable after his fall to Soul Saint, although his weakened strike is caught one-handed by Azure Luan Douluo 18.

Soul Power Perception and Flight

  • Can hover and fly using his cultivation 6.
  • Extends Soul Power across several li to search for traces of Ah Yin and the missing Soul Bone 6.
  • Can inspect another person's Soul Power, allowing him to identify the ox-cart driver as an ordinary civilian 6.

Blood God Devouring

The Blood God Inheritance allows Tang Hao to increase his cultivation by consuming others' flesh, blood, and Soul Power 39 46.

  • Drains victims through the Blood God Spear, leaving dried corpses 46.
  • Gains progressively less from weaker victims: Soul Douluos cannot supply enough power for his Level 99 breakthrough 46.
  • Can absorb battlefield souls and evil thoughts to strengthen himself 67.
  • At Divine Official strength, his devouring attack can digest a struck target through divine power and incorporate them into his body 68.

Blood God's Blessing

Tang Hao places red marks on Clear Sky Sect disciples and Slaughter City's inhabitants 46.

  • Marked fighters can increase Soul Power by killing opponents.
  • They can also absorb their victims' Soul Rings.
  • Tang Hao uses the blessing to force mass killing and cultivate stronger survivors 46 56.

Regeneration and Divine Durability

  • Reattaches his severed head after the two Bibi Dongs decapitate him 67.
  • Fully heals and exceeds his previous strength by devouring Tang Chen 68.
  • Moves slowly within Absolute Zero rather than dying immediately; resisting it rapidly depletes Su Ling's Soul Power 68.
  • Survives the coalition's combined attack, though it damages his wings and incorporated second head 68.

Equipment & Items

  • Blood God Spear — Divine weapon obtained with the Blood God Inheritance. Drains victims and can transform into a blood-red snake for a god-level devouring attack 46 68.
  • Asura Sword — Wielded alongside the Blood God Spear after devouring Tang Chen 68.
  • Six Soul Bones, formerly possessed — Two inherited Clear Sky Sect bones aged sixty thousand and seventy thousand years, plus four acquired independently, each under fifty thousand years old. Su Ling removes all six 16 17 18.
  • Ah Yin's Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring, formerly possessed — Extracted by Ah Yin, reducing Tang Hao to Level 79 17.
  • Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, formerly stored — Kept in Ah Yin's cave rather than among his six equipped bones; taken and absorbed by Su Ling 6.

Relationships

  • Ah Yin — Former wife and source of his original Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring. She resents his treatment of her, helps strip away his power, and ultimately rejects reconciliation 5 17 68.
  • Tang Xiaosan / Tang San — Daughter. His abuse and neglect leave her desperate for affection; she later rejects the Tang surname 8 14 19.
  • Tang Xiao — Elder brother and fellow divine inheritor. Tang Hao exploits his brother's longstanding willingness to yield to him to gain access to the sect elders 46.
  • Tang Yuehua — Younger sister. Watching his reaction to Ah Yin's disappearance causes her to question the man she believed him to be 6.
  • Tang Chen — Ancestor and wartime ally. Tang Hao ultimately consumes his corpse to become a Divine Official 46 68.
  • Asura God — Divine patron who arranges his Blood God Inheritance and orders him to kill Su Ling and destroy Spirit Hall 46.
  • Su Ling — Enemy who takes Ah Yin from the cave, strips Tang Hao of his Soul Bones, and leads the coalition against his Divine Official form 4 17 68.
  • Qian Daoliu — Captor and battlefield enemy. Slaying Tang Hao is the final condition of his Angel God Trial 39 40.
  • Seventh Elder — Survivor of Tang Hao's elder massacre. Seeks Spirit Hall's help and fights against his former sect's Evil Soul Masters 46 56 60.
