The next morning.
In the Saintess's bedroom.
While little Xu Feng was still sleeping in, Bibi Dong quickly changed into a plain, elegant court dress, then began a new day of "tender loving care" for him.
Smack! Smack!
"Lazy disciple, time to get up."
"Mmph... stop fussing, Teacher." Xu Feng habitually wiped the nonexistent saliva off his cheek, then rolled over and continued lying there.
"Hmph, you little rascal. Yesterday, you promised me you'd work hard from now on."
"But I haven't rested enough yet. I need to get enough rest before I have the energy to work hard, don't I?" Xu Feng argued with a perfectly straight face, while inwardly launching into his usual complaints.
[Work hard? Work hard, my ass!]
[I was just fooling you yesterday, and you actually took it seriously.]
[Tell me, aren't you stupid? Huh?]
"!@#¥%..." Bibi Dong's face darkened, and she immediately became displeased.
"Hmph..."
"Starting today, you'll be responsible for guiding your junior sister's cultivation. You can't keep lazing around like this. You need to set an example for her, understand?"
Without waiting for Bao'er to respond, Bibi Dong reached over and gathered him into the softest, most comfortable spot in her embrace.
"Mmph..."
Xu Feng stiffened, his little hands finding nowhere to go.
Even though Bibi Dong held him often, he still couldn't help feeling embarrassed, leaving him... unable to move, yet unable to stay still.
Sure enough, as long as I'm not embarrassed, Bao'er will be. Noticing little Xu Feng's expression, Bibi Dong felt rather pleased with herself.
You respect me on the surface, yet call me stupid in your heart.
Hmph, saying one thing and thinking another. Let's see whether you behave now.
Perhaps because she had found a way to keep Bao'er in check, Bibi Dong grew bolder, gazing at little Xu Feng with a mischievous smile.
"Bao'er, you've been with me for so long, so why are you still so lazy? You're like a newborn baby, unwilling to move so much as a muscle."
"Mmph... how would I know?"
"Could it be that you haven't been weaned yet, Bao'er?"
As she spoke, Bibi Dong's lips curled upward teasingly.
Boom! Rumble!
In an instant, Xu Feng froze completely, as though countless thunderclaps had exploded inside his head.
[Ah... aaah... what did I just hear?!]
[Teacher wants to breastfeed me?]
[Hiss...]
[Has she gone mad? Has she gone mad?]
[How could Teacher possibly say something like that? Doesn't she feel embarrassed?]
[I must have misheard. I definitely misheard.]
As he grumbled inwardly, Xu Feng's little face began to burn. Before long, a faint blush appeared. At first glance, he hardly looked like a boy at all, but more like a shy, adorably dazed girl.
Pfft-
Hearing little Xu Feng's thoughts and seeing his reaction, Bibi Dong couldn't help laughing aloud, feeling even more pleased with herself. Looks like this trick really works.
Since it worked, Bibi Dong pressed her advantage, smiling again. "Bao'er, do you have any objections to me having you guide Nana's cultivation from now on?"
"Th-that probably wouldn't work, would it?"
Hearing that there was work to do, Xu Feng hurriedly found an excuse to decline. "I've cultivated for eight years and still haven't broken through to rank twenty. With my talent, I certainly couldn't guide Nana."
"Fine, I'll take a step back. You won't have to guide Nana. From now on, you'll just supervise her cultivation. Surely that should be all right? Don't tell me you're going to refuse me just so you can slack off?"
Bibi Dong wasn't at all surprised that little Xu Feng would make excuses. She had never expected him to agree to her earlier demand; she had said it to give herself a chance to retreat in order to advance.
Unexpectedly, Xu Feng wasn't so easily fooled either. He countered with righteous conviction.
"Teacher, you're mistaken. I'm not trying to slack off. I simply feel that for one person to supervise another, the former must possess some outstanding quality that can win the latter's respect."
"But I don't think I meet that condition. If I insist on supervising Nana's cultivation, it'll only backfire and make her resistant. What if her cultivation goes awry and she dies... that would be a human life!"
[Want me to work? Dream on. Even though I've already broken through to Soul Saint, I absolutely won't do it.]
[Even the King of Heaven himself couldn't make me. Don't even think about stopping me from slacking off.]
[Tsk, tsk. I've got a whole pile of excuses left. Keep going if you've got what it takes...]
You little rascal. So you're that certain I can't handle you? Bibi Dong's chest heaved with anger at little Xu Feng's words. She hadn't expected that getting Bao'er to do a little work would require matching wits with him and devising every possible scheme.
What a failure I am as a teacher!
At that thought, Bibi Dong decided not to keep arguing with little Xu Feng. Hardening her heart, she pressed his head straight against her chest, even revealing a wicked little smile.
"It seems my Bao'er really is far too inconsiderate. You won't even share the burden of teaching your junior sister. Do I really have to top up your nourishment before you'll become a little more considerate?"
"Mmph... mmph..."
"You little scoundrel, what are you mumbling for? You don't appreciate how hard I work at all. Do you really want me to breastfeed you?"
"T-Teacher, I was wrong!"
Seeing little Xu Feng's face flush from being smothered, his whole body growing hot, Bibi Dong knew that the little rascal was now utterly mortified. She quickly put on an authoritative air and said, "I'll ask you one more time. Are you going or not?"
Catching his breath, Xu Feng hurriedly nodded. "All right, I promise. I'll properly supervise Nana's cultivation from now on."
"That's more like it."
Bibi Dong smiled gently and adjusted her hold on little Xu Feng, letting him rest against her shoulder.
In truth, she had felt awkward and deeply embarrassed just now, too.
But for the sake of the bigger picture.
Bibi Dong had endured it.
She hadn't blushed or shown any sign of shyness. The entire process had been natural, carried out in one smooth motion, leaving little Xu Feng firmly under her thumb.
A short while later, Bibi Dong brought little Xu Feng to Hu Liena's courtyard, assigned Hu Liena her cultivation tasks for the day, and then left.
Of course, Bibi Dong hadn't really left. She hid in the shadows, wanting to see whether Bao'er would show a little of what he could do. After all, Bao'er had repeatedly emphasized his Soul Saint cultivation, yet she had never seen it.
"Senior Brother!"
"Hmm?"
At that moment, Nana looked at Xu Feng, and Xu Feng glanced at Nana.
The former's eyes were filled with curiosity, incomparably clear and captivating, while the latter wore the dead-fish stare of someone who hadn't slept in days.
"W-will you teach me to cultivate from now on?"
"Of course."
"Thank you, Senior-"
"Not."
"Huh?"
Thinking her senior brother had readily agreed, Hu Liena had excitedly begun thanking him, only to freeze at his sudden addition.
"Cultivation takes far too much effort. As your senior brother, I don't want to see you work so hard, so I'm going to teach you something more important."
