Ji Xueyi nodded as though she had accomplished something important, then turned and walked out of the arena.
After a few steps, she stopped and glanced back at Huo Yutong.
That fight had made it clear to her that she could not even defeat Huo Yutong. Challenging Gu Xingyue would only bring humiliation upon herself.
She tightened her grip on her sword and silently set herself a new goal.
Once her swordsmanship improved a little more, she would at least have to defeat the girl standing beside Gu Xingyue first.
She felt no sadness. Setting her next battle goal immediately after being defeated-that was Ji Xueyi's soul path.
"Let's fight again next time," she said crisply.
Huo Yutong did not answer. She merely rested her gaze on her and nodded slightly, without the slightest unnecessary expression on her face.
Ji Xueyi left.
The white-clad figure soon disappeared. Only Gu Xingyue and Huo Yutong remained.
Huo Yutong walked over to Gu Xingyue and looked in the direction Ji Xueyi had disappeared.
"She's a martial fanatic," Gu Xingyue said.
"Mm," Huo Yutong acknowledged without saying anything more, though inwardly she grew a little more wary of this person.
She withdrew her gaze, hooked her fingers around Gu Xingyue's cuff, and headed toward the training ground's exit.
Neither lingered any longer. They would be leaving for the Heavenly Soul Empire tomorrow, and there were plenty of things to pack, including clothes.
The next day soon arrived.
