Huo Yutong grew up in the White Tiger Duke’s Mansion, enduring humiliation, verbal abuse, and brutal beatings from servants. After escaping, she traveled alone through hunger, rain, and nights sheltering in hollow trees. Her experiences left her withdrawn and determined to become strong enough to avenge herself against the household that mistreated her 3 5.

Her birth father carries blood from the Star Luo Zhu Clan, although Huo Yutong herself is not described as a member of that clan 63.

Meeting Gu Xingyue and Tianmeng

Gu Xingyue rescued her from an attacking ape soul beast in the Great Star Dou Forest. When Tianmeng’s spiritual pressure rendered him unconscious, Huo Yutong tried to wake him and then shielded him despite her fear of the enormous soul beast 3 7.

Tianmeng chose her as the host of a million-year sentient soul ring. Their bond deepened when Huo Yutong recognized the similarities between her own persecution and Tianmeng’s life of being hunted. She promised to conceal Tianmeng’s identity, the ring’s true age, its four skills, and her potential second martial soul 4 5.

Finding a Place at Shrek

Huo Yutong sought admission to Shrek Academy to accelerate her cultivation, but her soul power fell below its normal entry requirements. Gu Xingyue’s intervention secured her a place as an auditing student, and she began studying soul tools under Fan Yu 6 11 23 25.

Her talent for soul engineering quickly distinguished her from the weak cultivator others initially saw. During the freshmen assessment, Spiritual Detection transformed her teammates’ accuracy with soul tools and overturned their doubts about her usefulness. Extreme North and Recognition

After reaching the Grand Soul Master threshold, Huo Yutong traveled to the Extreme North without Gu Xingyue. She returned with the Ice Jade Scorpion Emperor martial soul, Ultimate Ice, and a powerful soul ring and torso bone, displaying far greater confidence than when she first entered Shrek 42 43 50.

She subsequently challenged her former bully Dai Huabing to an assessment wager requiring the loser to kneel and kowtow. By simulating a hundred-thousand-year soul ring’s aura, she frightened a thousand-year Frost Giant Python into submission and declared Dai Huabing defeated 51.

Xuan Zi discovered her Ultimate Ice during a combat exercise and named her and Gu Xingyue Shrek’s Twin Stars. Mu En then accepted Huo Yutong as a disciple and arranged to teach both students King’s Presence 54 59.

Body Sect Abduction Attempts

The Body Sect sought Huo Yutong for her spiritual-type body martial soul. During an attempted abduction at the arena, she anchored herself with ice before Electrolux took control of her body to resist the former sect master 66 67.

Du Bisi later captured her and sealed her soul power with a hand on her shoulder. Impressed by her physique, vitality, and twin martial souls, Du Bisi wanted her as the sect’s successor. Huo Yutong threatened to sever her own meridians rather than submit. Xuan Zi’s subsequent breakthrough shifted the battle in Shrek’s favor and prevented Du Bisi from carrying her away 78 83.

Heavenly Soul Delegation and Divine Examination

Huo Yutong chose to accompany Shrek’s delegation to the Heavenly Soul Empire. Before departing, she defeated Ji Xueyi through attrition, spiritual disruption, and the Eternal Frozen Domain; during the journey, she absorbed another soul ring 87 93.

Although initially uncertain whether a deity would choose her, she resolved to become a god and keep pace with Gu Xingyue. The Seven Original Sin Gods eventually granted her a joint examination: passing every test would make her the Overlord of the Seven Sins, while failing even one would cost her every divine seat 99 103.

Personality

Huo Yutong begins as shy, guarded, and deeply insecure about her worth. She worries that her ordinary talent does not justify others’ generosity and repeatedly promises to repay Gu Xingyue. Even before gaining strength, however, she is protective: she refuses to abandon him when she believes Tianmeng threatens his life 3 11 32.

She is studious and values practical competence over status. As class monitor, she does not rush to counter Ning Tian’s attempts to win classmates through wealth and connections, instead continuing her technical studies and trusting her abilities to establish her position 23 52.

Her gentleness coexists with a strong desire for revenge against those who abused her. As she gains confidence, she confronts Dai Huabing openly and develops a patient, calculating combat style rather than relying on brute force 5 51 87.

She is affectionate and easily flustered around Gu Xingyue, but can also become jealous. His apparent rapport with Ji Xueyi unsettles her, and she remains wary of Ji Xueyi even after winning their duel 42 50 88.
